“Ryan has walked our dog a few times, and this was the first house-sitting we had her do for us. She did an amazing job taking care of Toby. We received lots of very cute pictures and ample communication so we felt confident he was being well cared for. Upon arrival back home, we found a clean house and a very spoiled and happy dog. Just as things should be. We feel very fortunate to have found Ryan, and have several future trips booked with her already!”

“Ryland was a fantastic pet sitter. He spent several hours ( and two visits) getting to know us, our house and, of course, our babies. He sent us a daily recap including some very professional photos which assured us that things were going well.He is very calm, kind and knowledgeable. We will definitely use him again.”

“Anna is great! She took such loving care of my three cats and my dog. They all loved her, including the almost feral cat who often doesn't show herself at all but who sniffed Anna's hand several times. She's so attentive to detail and provided lots of check-in with pictures which I love. We will definitely hire Anna again.”

“Jacob did a fantastic job of taking care of Tarly and our house while we were away for a week. He sent photos daily and even left us a darling Polaroid on our return. I would absolutely book him again.”

“Cara did an amazing job house sitting our 2 huskies for a week. She provided lots of pictures of them at play and made sure they had plenty of exercise. They were clearly at ease with her as they didn't do their normal hunger strike. I'm pretty sure she left our house nicer than we left it. Cara is at the top of our list for rebooking.”

“Lani took excellent care of my high energy Lab while I was out of town for the weekend. This was my dog’s first time with a sitter, and I was very nervous because my dog is highly active, needy, sometimes anxious, very bonded to me, and used to me being with me all the time. Lani was able to meet all of her needs and make her feel comfortable while I was away. She is punctual, reliable, trustworthy, and sent regular updates and photos. I’m so thankful!”

“Valerie is hands down someone who will care for your pets like they’re her own. She went above and beyond our expectations while watching our dog Fern and our cats for five days while we were out of state. After some less-than-great experiences in the past, I can confidently say those days are over. Valerie gave us total peace of mind — we came home to happy, well-cared-for animals and a house that felt just right. We will absolutely be booking her again.”

“Eunice did such a wonderful job with watching my buddy! She was very responsive, kind, and accommodating to my dogs needs and my travel plans. She was great at sending pics throughout the stay, took him on walks daily, and left my house spotless!! Would 10/10 recommend and hope to use Eunice again in the future!”

“We had an amazing experience with Alisha! She was incredibly reliable, attentive, and clearly cared for our Nacho as if he were her own. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup and got great updates along the way. I'd highly recommend Alish to anyone looking for trustworthy, loving care!”

“Lisa was a fabulous sitter for our sweet pittie mix doggie and also our kitty. She sent such fun pictures of my dog which really helped settle my nerves when we were away. Thank you, Lisa! We look forward to booking you again! ?”

“I almost hate writing this review because then Jessica might get too busy to care for our dog. Jessica was fantastic! She took such good care of our dog. Loved on him. Played with him. Made sure he was not lonely or anxious. She sent regular updates and we felt blessed to know our boy was in great hands. Absolutely will not hesitate to use her services again and again. Thank you Jessica!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Really appreciated Melissa’s flexibility with figuring out our trip dates. She took great care of our pugs (we appreciated how clean their nose rolls were when we got back!).”
“I am new to Rover and needed a sitter in a very short period of time because of a death in the family…. and a funeral that I needed to attend to out of town. Chris answered my query in a very short period of time and we met the next day to go over what was needed while I was gone. He asked good questions about needs and wants and while I was gone gave me updates about their well being. He certainly understands our feline friends. Both my cats are seniors one has been quite ill, and Chris understood exactly what was needed. I do believe Chris is a cat whisperer. Both my cats took to him without a formal introduction and upon my return were quite content. I would recommend Chris to any person who needs a sitter and has cats,”

“She is wonderful house and dog sitter, and I knew that all went well for them Topher had some fun adventures and our house was well cared for. We appreciate her so much.”

“Sheelagh was amazing with my two cats! They loved playing with her. Even my shy cat warmed up to her instantly. She kept communication consistent so I felt in the loop while I was away.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rollingbay
Trenton and Jordan took incredible care of our home and our sweet Pineapple. They sent videos and photos multiple times a day of our sweet pup so we could stay close to gow she was doing. And they prepped the house (washed sheets, took out garbage cans, etc) for our next Dogsitter who was arriving after them. Will definitely see if they’re available the next time we need dogsitting.

Miranda is amazing!! She stayed at our house and with our dog Kiwi for 4 days. Kiwi loved her and when we arrived home, our house was immaculately clean. I could tell as soon as I met Miranda, that Kiwi would be in excellent caring hands. I would highly recommend Miranda and will definitely book her again.

Mel and Kelly are the best! They are responsible and conscientious, and they clearly spent lots of time doting on our very spoiled kitty. Zoya seemed to really enjoy having their company, and was entirely comfortable with them from the start. We feel very fortunate to have found Kelly and Mel, and I highly recommend them!

We were very happy with how well our pups were taken care of while we were gone! We got a picture and update every day and felt confident that they were in excellent hands! We came home to a clean house with the dogs jackets, blankets and towels washed as well as the bed stripped with sheets and towels washed! Highly recommended!!!

We are so happy we found Leslie! Our dogs are super sweet but nervous with new people so tend to hide and be scared. Not with Leslie! They warmed up to her so quickly and were snuggling away the entire weekend. She has a natural calm demeanor with dogs and totally respects and reads their needs. She sent photos, communicated quickly, and left our house cleaner than it was. Couldn't be happier, when normally it can be quite stressful to leave them. Thank you Leslie!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rollingbay walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rollingbay maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rollingbay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rollingbay. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
