Pet care is my second part-time passion alongside teaching. In the summer, I’m fully available—days, evenings, and weekends. During the school year, I shift gears a bit, offering pet care in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends around my teaching schedule.

As a pet parent myself, I know how important it is to feel confident in your pet’s care. My home is a safe, calm, and loving space, but I only offer in-home boarding to trusted clients and pets, as I have a precious new cat of my own to consider. When caring for your pet in your home, I’m respectful of your space and committed to creating a warm, engaging environment for your pet—whether through walks, gentle play, or cozy companionship. Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first.

The more I know, the more I can help your pet feel safe, loved, and right at home—even when they’re not with their family. Of course safety info is helpful! Informing me of medications, allergies, or any ongoing conditions to watch for is important. It’s also good to know how they handle new people, other animals, loud noises, or being alone. Being informed of their favorite hiding spots, things that soothe them, or anything that stresses them out can really help me to provide the best care. Please let me know where your pets are (or aren’t) allowed, crate use, or training cues you’re reinforcing.

I love providing high-energy walks and engaging games for pets—but every animal is different. Since I work with a variety of pets and families, I tailor activities to match each pet’s unique needs, energy level, and personality. I’m excited to get to know your dog or cat so I can offer the kind of love and care that feels best to them, and to you. Whether it’s a long walk, energetic run, high energy game of catch, gentle play, or quiet companionship, I’m here to make sure they feel happy & safe, and are pleasantly tired & relaxed after our time together.

Hello, Sheelagh is wonderful with pets. Sheelagh and her family adopted our dog, who at that time was terrible with cats and defensive around other male dogs. Sheelagh managed to teach him to calm down and be fine with cats as well as be gentle around other dogs. Sheelagh is a faithful dog walker, kind and gentle. I highly recommend her!
