About: I got my first dog, Duchess, my little mix (shih tzu, pekingese, west highland terrier) 15 years ago. During a family discussion about a pet, I was the only one who advocated for getting her but when my family and I laid our eyes on her, everyone got on board! I’ve been her main caregiver and I’ve enjoyed taking care of her from a young pup to becoming an older dog now. For her daily routine, I take her on a walk about 4 times a day for about 15 minutes. She’s a sniffer so we slowly walk along the neighborhood and I let her take her time on our excursions. It’s always a nice break to spend time with her and get a bit of exercise in. I’ve also enjoyed pet sitting for my aunt’s family. They have a two year old small white dog who has lots of energy. I love taking their dog, Peanut, on walks when they’re away and playing ball with him. It’s always a blast!
About: I currently have 5 of my own dogs, my oldest we have had for 8 years. I used to work at a dog rescue and I currently work at a kennel, so I have experience with all kinds of dogs. I work full time at a dog kennel in Petaluma and days that are grayed out I am available after 5:30 pm for visits or walks. I have experience fitting collars and harnesses to all sized dogs for their safety. I also know how to safely and properly use e-collars, prong collars, muzzles, martingales, and gentle leaders. I have a reactive dog myself, so I know how to keep dogs safe in environments that may make them uncomfortable.
About: I grew up around dogs and cats and love animals! My last dog was with me for 12 years and was 150lbs of pure love and snuggles. I am comfortable with small and large breeds as well as senior dogs. Apart from owning dogs, I also take care of friends and neighbor's cats while they are away and love cats as well. I’m an excellent communicator and happy to work with you to make sure your pet is happy and comfortable with me! I’m a mom of two school age kids who is looking to fill time while they are at school I would love to play, walk and snuggle your pets. I also offer boarding as long as the pet is good with kids. My kids love to cuddle and play with animals. We love being outdoors and walking, hiking and exploring what Sonoma County has to offer. I have a large Jeep that offers plenty of space for dogs. I live across from a large park with plenty of grass to play in, and a creek trail which is perfect for dog walks- lots of things to smell! I do daily or twice daily walks for dogs and have a pet-proofed home for their stay.
“Arrived in timely manner. Both dogs seem to really like Calob. Nice pictures every day. Safely walked on local streets. Walked a full 30 minutes every time. Calob communicated very well and is a very pleasant person to work with. No complaints. Would use again.”
“Blake is so good with our two young, high strung dogs. On the days they go on walks with her, they are so much happier when we get home from work and behave much better after getting some energy out during the day. Blake is patient, kind, communicative and trustworthy. Thank you ❤️”

“Peggy is sooooo amazing. AMAZING, AMAZING AND AMAZING !!!! I have yet to meet a dog walker who treats someone else's pet like her own. Peggy went above and beyond by how attentive, caring, and loving she was. And Daisy simply adores her.”

About: I have several years of experience caring for family dogs, including a small sod and large dog. My responsibilities have feeding, walking, bathing, and general daily care. I’m comfortable handling animals and enjoy spending time with them. My schedule is very flexible so I’ll have plenty of time to care for your pups! I am available most days and can adjust my time as needed to care for pets, including walks and check-ins. I focus on keeping pets safe and comfortable. I follow instructions carefully, stay attentive during walks, and make sure pets feel secure, calm, and happy!
About: I’ve owned dogs since I was born and have always had them in my life. I grew up with three dogs and would walk and house sit for friends and family! I’m currently a student so I have very weird hours to get a full time job and since I love animals very much this seemed like a perfect opportunity to walk and care for dogs while I’m not in class I have one 10 year old French bulldog in my apartment with me. Any break I have at school I go home and take him out for a walk, I revolve my schedule around my dog and would work my schedule around any dog
“Amanda was great. I needed a last minute dog walker as I was leaving for a work trip and she was immediately responsive and was able to connect with my neighbor to make sure everything went smoothly. I will definitely be using her in the future, as needed, and would highly recommend.”

About: Hi there! I have extensive experience raising dogs and puppies for a service dog organization as well as many of my own. In the past I have worked at a veterinary hospital as an assistant so I have hands on experiences in a medical setting as well. My two dogs and I enjoy volunteering as therapy dogs for a local therapy dog organization. I’m excited to meet yours and treat them as one of my own! I am a stay at home dog mom with grown kids looking to supplement our income so my schedule is very flexible to yours and your pets needs. I will custom tailor to yours and your dogs individual needs and requests and treat them like I treat my own! Please feel free to ask any specific questions.
About: I've always had a dog. I had dogs growing up, I adopted a dog when I moved out on my own, and I adopted another dog when my children were old enough. Dogs are an important and special part of the family. I enjoy giving them attention, taking them for walks, brushing them, and of course, cuddling with them. I am observant of their communication styles, and use my observation skills to make sure I attend to their needs and keep them happy. I lost my special girl recently, and this is the first time in a while I am without my own dog. I would love to help you care for your dog while I decide whether to adopt again. I currently work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I am available to go for walks and give potty breaks almost anytime day and evening. I live in a townhouse that does not have a fenced yard. However, I used to take my dog for several walks per day for both exercise and potty breaks. Dogs are welcome in any part of the house, or can be restricted to downstairs, depending on their needs. I am happy to visit your pet in your home to offer a potty break, take for a walk, or just give some attention.
About: I've been taking care of my neighbors pets starting when I was around 10. There's been cats, dogs, birds, and fish. I also have three pets of my own, a cat, a husky, and a border collie. I have trained both my dogs in the basics, and the husky how to jump through a hoop and the border collie to roll over. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine because I have a super flexible schedule and love spending my free time with animals, it’s honestly the best part of my week. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I stick to their routine, give them lots of attention and cuddles, and keep their space clean, cozy, and stress-free.
About: Currently being a stay at home mother, my hours are very flexible! Growing up with cats and dogs, my kiddos and I are currently lacking the fun presence of furry friends! Although my apartment is not the biggest, allowing only one dog at a time allows all of my attention to be focused. If pets are to stay overnight you can expect daily walks, trips to dog parks and most likely a bath if we get too ambitious. I am an adventurous person that believes dogs have individual personalities and unique characteristics that should be embraced and loved. Allowing pets to cuddle up on the couch MAY be negotiated because I am a sucker for puppy eyes. I am currently a stay at home with my three kiddos. I home school, so including a dog in the mix is so much fun for us! We often go on walks and trips to the park. I have a fenced yard, doggie door for easy outside access and loving, gentle kids to keep your animals company with lots of love and play.

We love Marianna! She is sweet, caring, and helpful. We had inspectors coming to the house and had to have her go through the back, she was very kind and understanding. Our dog loves going out with her and he’s always super happy after their walk. We highly recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
