“This was my first time using the app Rover. JINAH was awesome. She initiated an initial visit to meet my dog and learn about his care needs. He immediately took to her happy wagging tail and all. It helped so much in my going away to be able to trust that he was in good hands. I will definitely reach out to JINAH again first for any dog-care needs.”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was very young. I enjoy spending time with them, doing everything from playing, to walking, to lounging on the couch! I work full time with a relatively flexible schedule and the occasional work from home day. I am available on weekends and weekdays after work. I have one cat at home who is very friendly, but shy! He will likely stay under my bed and out of the way while your pet is in my home. I can also crate your baby if necessary and spoil them with treats and snuggles.
“Thank you so much for assisting me again with my cat. You were very attentive and made sure you kept me updated with photos and videos daily. I really do appreciate you.”

About: I’ve always loved being around animals and understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to adjust to each pet’s personality and routine. Whether it’s energetic walks, playtime, feeding, or simply giving them attention and comfort, I’ll make sure your pet is well cared for. I also believe in keeping owners updated with messages and photos for peace of mind. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine, and I currently have flexible availability for walks and drop-in visits. I’m available on weekdays after my work hours and weekends I’m available all day , and will do my best to accommodate different schedules whenever possible. I believe pets feel happiest when they feel safe and comfortable in their familiar environment. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine and personality while making sure they receive plenty of attention, patience, and care. I’m respectful of clients’ homes and always prioritize safety, communication, and keeping owners updated with messages and photos.
About: I've always had a dog. I had dogs growing up, I adopted a dog when I moved out on my own, and I adopted another dog when my children were old enough. Dogs are an important and special part of the family. I enjoy giving them attention, taking them for walks, brushing them, and of course, cuddling with them. I am observant of their communication styles, and use my observation skills to make sure I attend to their needs and keep them happy. I lost my special girl recently, and this is the first time in a while I am without my own dog. I would love to help you care for your dog while I decide whether to adopt again. I currently work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I am available to go for walks and give potty breaks almost anytime day and evening. I live in a townhouse that does not have a fenced yard. However, I used to take my dog for several walks per day for both exercise and potty breaks. Dogs are welcome in any part of the house, or can be restricted to downstairs, depending on their needs. I am happy to visit your pet in your home to offer a potty break, take for a walk, or just give some attention.

“Emma is very kind and was so great with my pets. She sent me great photos of them showing me that they’re in great care and are happy which brought me a lot of ease on my trip. I highly recommend her!”

About: I currently have 5 of my own dogs, my oldest we have had for 8 years. I used to work at a dog rescue and I currently work at a kennel, so I have experience with all kinds of dogs. I work full time at a dog kennel in Petaluma and days that are grayed out I am available after 5:30 pm for visits or walks. I have experience fitting collars and harnesses to all sized dogs for their safety. I also know how to safely and properly use e-collars, prong collars, muzzles, martingales, and gentle leaders. I have a reactive dog myself, so I know how to keep dogs safe in environments that may make them uncomfortable.
“Shae is so sweet. I appreciate her caring manner towards Ozzy and how she communicates frequently with me with photo updates of Ozzy. Gives me lots of peace of mind when we are traveling and knowing Ozzy is in good hands. Thank you Shae!!”

“Sara is sweet, communicative, and reliable! She sent pictures and updates of her drop in visit with my Ollie! She was flexible with times which I am very thankful for. Overall, I would definitely recommend her!”

“I cannot overstate how wonderful Ellen is! She cared for my boys as if they were her own. She provided detailed daily updates and stellar attention to their needs. Our pup can be a shy boy and she went out of her way to ensure that he was comfortable and trusted her and I can tell they had a great time. Ellen is absolutely an animal lover and she treated my boys like family! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy companion for your pets while you’re away and will be booking again in the future. Thank you so much Ellen!!!!”

“Our cat and chickens were well cared for by Jill during several days of drop in visits. Jill welcomed and fulfilled my detailed requests for their care and provided daily updates to confirm that all was well with our animals.”
“Highly recommend Mackenzie! My precious kitty loves her. Easy going and extremely conscientious. Two important qualities that don’t always coexist. Will definitely book future cat sits knowing we can count on the highest quality of care for our fur baby.”

About: I am an enthusiastic animal loving gal who is happy to help walk, bathe, feed, and just about anything that is needed. I am a dog aunt to many dogs but to name a few there are Yogi, Pepper, Fonzi, and Georgia! I do a lot of dog/cat sitting for family, friends, and coworkers, as I am the go to gal for their pet sitting needs! My brother just recently got a puppy, Georgia, who is almost 5 months, so I spend quite a lot of time with her. We go on walks, practice new tricks and commands, potty training, and of course lots of naps! I am comfortable with any size/breed of dog and would love to help whenever I can :) I currently work full time M-F 8am-4:30pm but I am free after work most day and have flexibility on the weekends. Days that I am currently unavailable for are Thursdays. Making sure that I provide a trusting, safe, and comfortable environment for any pet I care for is extremely important to me. Whatever it is that pet owners want for their animals I will do my best to make happen.

About: I have had every critter from cats and dogs to rats and birds. Since birth, I’ve been surrounded by animals. Mostly dogs. Buddy Lee was my first dog (a chihuahua), he sadly past away this year at 15. I grew up with Mocha (a mixed breed dog) and Macie (a pure bred yorkie, currently 14 years old). I have a kitty named Tiggy and my roommate has a kitty named Spooky. I have also lived with two great dane named Bruce and Benson and a pitbull named Millie. I have taken care of horses for years at multiple different ranches/farms. I’m also a big horse gal! I work full time Mon-Fri 7a-3p, so I am mostly available on afternoons and weekends. I am currently also coaching soccer for my local high school. I am volunteering to do that a few days a week. I am very attentive and prioritize safety. I have been told I am kind of a helicopter mom to my little sisters and the same goes for animals! Being around animals has always been very comforting for me, getting outdoors for walkies is a bonus!
About: I am a huge animal lover and have had many pets all of my life. My dogs are not just pets but members of the family. I have had many dogs over the years ranging from cockapoo’s, terriers, Westies, a German Shepherd and yellow Labs. I have also had 5 cats. My current dog and cat are best friends! I care for many friends and neighbor dogs and have play dates on a daily basis. Dogs are always on the guest list for dinner parties or holiday gatherings and have gifts under the tree. If I had a bigger yard, I’d have a dozen. I would love to meet and spoil your dog while you were away. I will treat them like my own and we will have a great time together. After retiring from my long term job, I became a caregiver for family members. I enjoy walking so thought this would be a perfect fit for getting more exercise and fill my love of having multiple dogs. I have availability in between caring for people and would love to take your dog for a walk. I will care for your pets as my own in your home and a walk. If there is any special requests or instructions, I will happily follow.

Marie is an absolute delight! She’s attentive to every detail, thorough, respectful of our shy/timid girlies, knowledgeable, and deeply kind. We loved getting to know her and returned to a relaxed energy 🤍 Thank you so much, Marie, our girls can’t wait to see you again!

Rhiannon is amazing. My cats love her she is so good with them they love it when she brushes them. She always goes above and beyond, watering my plants and bringing in any packages that might arrive. She also send me lots of pictures. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs pet sitting services.

Clint was a great with our dog Otto! He can be a high energy and sometimes anxious dog, but Clint worked through it and they became fast friends. Clear and prompt communication, regular updates - Clint is trustworthy and made sure our dog was tired and happy :) highly recommend!

Ellen S. is amazing! She showered our three dogs with love and care, kept us updated with daily photos and videos, and handled each pup perfectly, calm and gentle with our mastiff, playful and friendly with our bully and pit. We felt completely at ease knowing they were in her care and can’t wait for her next visit!

Emmalene genuinely saved my cat’s life. There was a fire in our home while we were out of town and thankfully she arrived for a drop-in visit before it was too late. She called the fire department and made sure Kitty got out safe. She took Kitty home with her and took care of her like she was her own cat until I could get back the next day. I cannot speak highly enough of Emmalene and her above and beyond care; even after such a traumatic experience, I could tell Kitty felt so comfortable and safe staying with her. I cannot thank her enough for saving my cat’s life.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
