“This was my first time using the app Rover. JINAH was awesome. She initiated an initial visit to meet my dog and learn about his care needs. He immediately took to her happy wagging tail and all. It helped so much in my going away to be able to trust that he was in good hands. I will definitely reach out to JINAH again first for any dog-care needs.”

About: I have had pets most of my life since I was a small child. I have a deep bond with animals and love getting to know their individual personalities and having a great time playing together. I am currently working part time on my own schedule so I have a great deal flexibility to come play with your pets and provide them with my undivided attention! I provide care specifically based on each individual client’s requests and unique needs. Please let me know your preferences, needs and concerns. Thank you!
About: I've been an animal lover my entire life, and caring for both cats and dogs have always brought me a lot of joy. Growing up I always had cats and dogs in the house at all times. Caring for them through every stage of life has taught me a lot about patience, trust and the eclectic personalities that make pets so wonderful. I love learning about animal behavior and body language so I can help animals feel safe, understood and comfortable. I believe in meeting them where they are and earning their trust at their own pace, no matter the personality type. As a mainly remote working professional, I have the flexibility to provide dependable visits and walks throughout the day. I can easily fit care into my routine while updating parents with photos and messages along the way. I understand inviting someone into your home and trusting them with your pet is a big decision. I treat every home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. As an owner with specific pet routines of my own, I know that each pet has their own preferences and comfort level that I pay close attention to. My goal is to provide dependable care, clear communication and peace of mind so you can be present while you're away knowing your pet is in good hands.
“Savannah is a dream! So professional and kind, an excellent communicator and a quick problem solver. Savannah cared for our chickens for nearly three full weeks and watched over the house and plants. She provided regular updates, was intuitive to care for the girls in the hot weather and allowed my time away to feel so much more at ease. I was so thrilled to return with thriving plants, and happy, calm chickens. Will definitely look to book with her again in the future, and recommend fully!”

About: With a lifetime of daily dog walking experience, I know exactly how crucial regular exercise is for your dog’s physical health and mental well-being. Your furry family member is always in safe, loving, and experienced hands! I am newly retired and ready to have fun walking your dog. My schedule is very open and I can even walk your dog on weekends. I have experience with all size dogs and personalities. Let me know what your dog enjoys most on walks and I can do the same.
“Blake was just a remarkable visitor for our 18 yr old big boy kitty. We wanted someone who would be careful and very loving with AJ and she was - accompanying him out to the yard & petting him, etc. She took notes during her pre visit session & followed them to a T! She is such a nice person and so thorough and loving with AJ that we would jump at having her come again!!”

“Erin has provided the best Rover experience I have had by far. She was on time everyday, provided several photos of my pet and wrote a fun, unique update every session. 100% would book again.”

“I have used Shawn numerous times. She is EXCELLENT!!! I have a very shy kitty and I was shocked when he warmed up to Shawn very quickly. But not only is she fabulous with animals, she follows all instructions to the letter!”

“Gina took amazing care of our fur baby! She was super communicative, friendly, and took amazing pictures while we were away. Our shy kitty loved her immediately! Definitely will ask her to pet sit for us again. 💛”

About: I have always been good at training dogs, I have a 9 year old dog of my own and I love taking him on walks. I am currently in school locally at the SRJC, I am in school at both the Petaluma and Santa Rosa campus. Working with animals is my dream, I want to be a neuro-vet, this is how I can work closely with animals in my current stage. My school hours are between 10AM-3PM M-Th, I will be in school and return to assist with your pet(s) afterward I love making sure that animals are comfortable, I will ensure house rules are in place, and I am excellent in dog training. I love to spend time with the animals even when not required.
About: Currently being a stay at home mother, my hours are very flexible! Growing up with cats and dogs, my kiddos and I are currently lacking the fun presence of furry friends! Although my apartment is not the biggest, allowing only one dog at a time allows all of my attention to be focused. If pets are to stay overnight you can expect daily walks, trips to dog parks and most likely a bath if we get too ambitious. I am an adventurous person that believes dogs have individual personalities and unique characteristics that should be embraced and loved. Allowing pets to cuddle up on the couch MAY be negotiated because I am a sucker for puppy eyes. I am currently a stay at home with my three kiddos. I home school, so including a dog in the mix is so much fun for us! We often go on walks and trips to the park. I have a fenced yard, doggie door for easy outside access and loving, gentle kids to keep your animals company with lots of love and play.
About: I am a huge animal lover. Ever since I was little I have loved being around animals. I started pet sitting for my neighbors since I was 15. They rely on me to feed and water their pets, let them out when needed, walk them, and sometimes give them their medication. 2 years ago, our family got our first dog; his name is Sydney and he's an Aussiedoodle. I already had a lot of experience with pets from pet sitting but I have really learned so much more from him which has helped me learn how to handle all types of pets. He's one of the best things to ever happen to us and really is the center of my family's universe. I’m currently on summer break so my schedule is fairly open. Times might vary though I’m flexible and it's something I'm happy to work out in order to fit everyone's schedule. When I am taking care of your pets, I'll always make sure to treat them as my own. I try to maintain a consistent routine as much as possible and give them lots of extra love and attention because I know how hard it can be on pets when their humans leave. Additionally, I make sure that they are able to eat and drink water during each visit because I know that sometimes their appetite decreases if they're sad and missing their owners. I love walking and I would love to spend time walking your pets and making sure they have fun and are comfortable but I can't walk more than dog at a time. I am also happy to accommodate any special needs your pet might have and keep you updated with pictures etc to put your mind at ease. My goal is that your pets remain happy and healthy while I am taking care of them.

About: I’ve had pets my whole life and taken care of many others as well. I have experience with dogs, cats, rats, and guinea pigs. I love all animals and am very diligent in my care. I know how much our pets mean to us so I am sure to deliver the upmost care. I have a good amount of experience taking care of puppies, I know how energetic they can be, and I also get along just fine with calmer dogs, perhaps they’re older or just prefer a snooze, haha. I am extremely attentive and if your pet needs extra special attention, I am happy to give them that. I work full time at a bank throughout the week but I am available after work by around 6pm and also completely available on the weekends. I love being able to interact with others’ pets any chance I get to so getting to take care of them is really a privilege to me. In my own home, I am very attentive of my two pets. I have two male rats, they are about a year old now and I adore them so much. They love getting frozen veggies in a little tub of water and they love chasing items dragged right in front of their faces. With other people’s pets, I am the same, I love playing or interacting with them or just relaxing if thats what the pet needs. Regardless, I find it very rewarding to have positive experiences with them. In clients homes I am happy to do the same with respect and care for the space.
About: I am a huge animal lover and have had many pets all of my life. My dogs are not just pets but members of the family. I have had many dogs over the years ranging from cockapoo’s, terriers, Westies, a German Shepherd and yellow Labs. I have also had 5 cats. My current dog and cat are best friends! I care for many friends and neighbor dogs and have play dates on a daily basis. Dogs are always on the guest list for dinner parties or holiday gatherings and have gifts under the tree. If I had a bigger yard, I’d have a dozen. I would love to meet and spoil your dog while you were away. I will treat them like my own and we will have a great time together. After retiring from my long term job, I became a caregiver for family members. I enjoy walking so thought this would be a perfect fit for getting more exercise and fill my love of having multiple dogs. I have availability in between caring for people and would love to take your dog for a walk. I will care for your pets as my own in your home and a walk. If there is any special requests or instructions, I will happily follow.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Penngrove
We feel very lucky to have found Jinah. The dog and cat both love her! She did drop in visits over a 4-day period and provided clear updates on how they were doing. The day before our trip, my pup had minor surgery on her paw. Jinah took care of her as well as I would, giving her medication and taking pictures of her paw so i could see it was improving. She also cleaned the dog and cat dishes and treat ball every time she came. Jinah is very gentle and calm and we appreciate that!

Rhiannon is amazing. My cats love her she is so good with them they love it when she brushes them. She always goes above and beyond, watering my plants and bringing in any packages that might arrive. She also send me lots of pictures. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs pet sitting services.

Clint was a great with our dog Otto! He can be a high energy and sometimes anxious dog, but Clint worked through it and they became fast friends. Clear and prompt communication, regular updates - Clint is trustworthy and made sure our dog was tired and happy :) highly recommend!

Emmalene genuinely saved my cat’s life. There was a fire in our home while we were out of town and thankfully she arrived for a drop-in visit before it was too late. She called the fire department and made sure Kitty got out safe. She took Kitty home with her and took care of her like she was her own cat until I could get back the next day. I cannot speak highly enough of Emmalene and her above and beyond care; even after such a traumatic experience, I could tell Kitty felt so comfortable and safe staying with her. I cannot thank her enough for saving my cat’s life.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
