Julie is FABULOUS! She offered to do a Meet & Greet beforehand which I loved. She is super sweet and our foster pup immediately took to her! (He even tried to follow her out the door as she left.) She took excellent care of him, and I have no doubt she treats all her clients like her own. If we need someone again- Julie will be our go-to!

About: I have experience taking care of my dogs for over 6 years now. I love my dogs and I hope to take care of many other doggos just the same way! Pets are family and I believe in providing the best care and creating a happy safe environment for them. Currently I work as a Registered Nurse allowing me to have a flexible schedule so I have morning, afternoon and evening availabilities. I am also available for last minute sittings if needed, that is not a problem! I also provide house sitting care as well! I have a dog of my own who is very friendly and always looking for friends to play with. When caring for pets in a client's home or at my own home, I always follow any specific instructions provided by the client or outlined in the care plan. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have clean water, and that their living areas are kept clean and safe. I also ensure they get attention and comfort. I’m mindful of safety—for both the pet and the client—such as avoiding trip hazards or messes. If I notice anything unusual, like changes in behavior or eating habits, I report it promptly. I understand that pets are part of the family, and I treat them with the same respect and care.

Kim was so great taking Indie on walks even when she’s such a big, reactive dog. I was out of town for a week and I came home to Indie being just as happy and healthy as when I left. Thank you, Kim!

About: The services I offer are dog walks and check ins. I am currently 23 years old and graduated from UNCC in May of 2022. I have always loved animals ever since I was a little girl. I started caring for family and friends animals when I was 12 years old and will often help out friends and family when they need me to. What sets me apart from other sitters and walkers is that I will take the time to love and care for your animal like it was my own. I always try to go above and beyond whatever my task is. I hope to one day be able to care and love your animal as if you were there. I work full time during the week but I am free all day during the weekends. I would be able to provide walks and daily care for your pet. I have two cats and one dog who are very loving to all humans and animals . I want your pet to feel comfortable while you are away.

About: I grew up with having a dog around the house, so I have always loved being around pets. The last two summers I have pet sat for families while they were on vacation. Some of the dogs I have taken care of have had medical needs, so I am able to give dogs medication if needed. I have taken care of big and small dogs. I look forward to working and taking care of your pet! During the summer I have more availability outside of when I am on vacation. For house sitting services, I am happy to provide overnight care for your pet. There will be times I will leave the home to run errands, go to work, family time and etc. But I will make sure that your pet’s routine is kept in tact and that they get all the snuggles and love they need. I am a full time teacher so once the school year starts my availability will change. I will not be able to provide pet care in my home. But I can provide pet care in a clients home. I am able to provide walks, feed your pet, provide snuggles, and medication if needed. I will ensure the client home stays clean if I am booked for overnight pet care. If it is too hot outside I may limit the time for the walk. I will also bring a water bottle with a bowl to make sure your dog does not overheat.

About: Hey, I’m Doug. I’ve had dogs my whole life and can’t imagine it any other way. I’ve owned and loved several different breeds over the years, and right now I share my home with a big, lovable German Shepherd and a 16 year old calico cat who has a lot of sass and attitude. I’m also a dad of two, and while my kids are in school I’m looking to earn some extra income doing something I genuinely enjoy. I love being outside, going on long walks, throwing the ball, and ending the day with plenty of snuggles. I’m very responsible and take pet care seriously, but I also try to keep things easy and fun. I’ll always keep you in the loop with updates and photos so you know your pet is happy, safe, and getting lots of attention. If you’re looking for someone who treats your pets like they’re part of the family, I’d love to help out. I’m primarily available on weekdays between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, which lines up well with mid day check ins, drop ins, and visits while you’re at work. I’m also available some evenings, depending on the day. I can probably work with your schedule, just message me! I’m a parent of two, so I focus on providing reliable care during school hours and select evenings when I can give your pet my full attention. If you have a schedule question or a special request, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to talk through what might work best. When I’m caring for pets in your home, I try to keep things as close to their normal routine as possible. I know how important familiarity is, especially when their people are away. I follow your instructions closely when it comes to feeding, medication, litter box care, playtime, and any little quirks your pet might have. I always make sure your home is left just as I found it. Food and water areas stay clean, litter boxes are scooped, and I do a quick check to make sure everything looks safe and secure before I leave. I also spend time with your pet based on what they’re comfortable with, whether that’s playtime, gentle attention, or just calm company. I’ll keep you updated with notes and photos so you know how things are going and can feel at ease while you’re away. My goal is for you to feel confident that both your pet and your home are being well cared for.

About: I own 3 small dogs - very sweet and they get along well with other dogs. They are all updated on shots and are on heart-worm/flea/tick preventatives (Revolution). I ask that all dogs that stay in my home are also up to date on shots and preferably on some sort of flea preventative as we go outdoors often, weather permitting. I have owned and cared for a diabetic dog and can give shots or other medicines if needed. I work full time from home so they are able to have frequent potty breaks along with being able to roam free inside my home. I’ve had pets my entire life; rabbits, cats, hamsters, birds, dogs, etc. I love animals and they will be well cared for - I will treat them like they are my own. I have a half acre fenced in yard with shade available for them to run around and play! We also have 1 indoor cat. I have two children but they do great with animals. They love to help with their care and are very loving to all animals. I have several crates and pet beds or you can bring your own if that makes them more comfortable. I always suggest bringing special treats, toys, or blankets to help make their stay easier. I can also take care of cats as well or any other small pets! Please ask any questions you may have! Thank you for your consideration. Working from home makes your pet feel at home with someone almost always there. If they are crated it’s only at bedtime if that’s their normal routine. I have a large fenced in yard. My Pomeranian is young and energetic and loves to run around with visiting pups! My girls are super laid back and mostly like to observe. They have free roam of the downstairs area.

Lauren was absolutely wonderful with Kash! She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared for her like she was her own. Kash took to her right away, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. Lauren made sure Kash got her walks, attention, and care, and everything went smoothly. I will definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter or dog walker!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
