“Highly recommend this sitter! Elizabeth was communicative and friendly. My kitty loved her. Made me feel much better about being away from him. Thanks again!”

About: I've been pet sitting for over ten years and am trusted by several families in the area! My home is loving, warm, and will provide a safe and happy atmosphere for your pet. I only ask that you are honest about your furry friend. I can’t board pets with behavioral issues, fleas, chewing habits, or that aren’t safe around children. Thank you! I only schedule boarding and doggy daycare services on days that I will be home (unless taking child to school/dropping off, or running a quick errand). My focus is on one family at a time, so I never have pets from multiple homes under my care at once. Your pet will receive the love and attention they deserve. My care is loving, nurturing, and intuitive. I am able to pick up on your pets energy and decide how to move forward from there. Some pets are anxious or excited, and others need space. Regardless of personality and needs, your pet is ALWAYS safe with me.
“Gabrielle was great, I wish I could give more stars! It was last minute as we couldn't take our Dior on our trip, so I was really worried as we had never left her with anyone before. But Gabrielle put our minds at ease while on vacation. She also kept great communication with us!! I would definitely be booking with her again!!”

“Jessica did an excellent job! We hired her for 5 hours and to give our dog a bath. She was very prepared and asked all the right questions. If we need a sitter again we will surely call Jessica. Big thumbs up!”

“Jarad did a great job taking care of our two cats. We asked for daily drop-ins to feed them and scoop the litterbox. He is very mature, friendly, and reliable. While we didn't ask for daily pictures, he sent one anyway which was kind. We had to ask him to go above cat sitting and to bring in our mail as the USPS was not holding it as we requested. He kindly helped us out with that too. He provided A+ service and care and we are very pleased.”
“Jacqueline is the only pet sitter and dog walker I trust with my 2 dogs and 5 cats. My two huge doodles absolutely love her and she is fantastic with them. She also did drop-in visits for my cats for the past week while I went on vacation. She wrote extremely detailed notes for each visit and sent me some really cute pictures of my kitties. She did a thorough job getting care instructions for the cats and was always prompt and very communicative with each visit. I am so glad I found such a fantastic pet sitter in my area!!”
“We had a last min trip come up and needed someone the very next day. Angela came to the rescue, and she did absolutely amazing with our dogs. She sent pics from every visit and communicated how our dogs were on their first meet. I will definitely us her for future trips.”

About: I’ve helped raise and take care of dogs since I was 10 or so. We’ve had several litters of puppies that we had to raise and get rehomed as well as various animals to include cats, dogs, and smaller animals like guinea pigs and hamsters. Each animal has its own personality and that makes working with them so special. I have flexibility to stop in the middle of the day during the work week to check in on your pet and provide the care needed on a daily basis. I also have open availability on the weekends and evenings to check in as needed. I try to treat each animal how I would like my animals to be treated. They are alive and have personalities that should be tailored to the approach you give the pets. That’s my philosophy.

About: *Booked Monday-Fridays 11-11:30am* I’ve watched family and friends animals over the years. I’m dependable and always feel bad leaving the animals alone. I’ve taken care of my diabetic cat for 13 years, at one point having to give her daily shots so I understand how much work and love goes into our animals. My sister also has a golden, who is full of energy and loves to snuggle. Aunty duties were big when we lived close to each other! I’d hope a daily walk or visit would help cheer them up when owners have to go to work, vacation, etc. I’m practically always in town so feel free to reach out to find out more info/availability!! I’m currently unemployed. I recently quit my job to be able to have more downtime and get rid of a lot of stress so this is a transition time for me! I think it is important to always keep a dog on a leash in any open environment that other dogs or people may be. It’s important to pay attention to your animals to see how they react towards different environments. It’s always important to just show them love too!
“Alexis is good at what she does. She always takes good care of my fur baby and takes him on walks. She keeps me updated during the visits as well. Alexis is our go-to dog sitter. Highly recommend”

“Requested service same day within one hour during a storm she came to my house to care for my dogs. Outstanding service 💯 recommend her. Very friendly and easy to get in contact with.”

“Ryleigh and Heather were a great duo to work with! They have calm and easy going personalities and my cane corso and pit accepted them after the meet and greet. I was unsure how long my cane corso would bark for in the kennel before they could be let out and it only took a few barks. They settled right down for them. Communication has been great and they adjusted timing as I needed.”

“This was our first experience with an in-home cat sitter. Jennifer was outstanding! She sent daily pictures and let us know how the cats were doing each day. She even brought in some heavy deliveries that arrived at our front door. The house looked exactly as it did when we left. Amazing experience! :)”

“Emily jumped in and helped save the day when the dog sitter I hired was not letting my dog outside for potty breaks in a timely manner. She worked well with me considering I had to do all coordinating while out of the state. My dog also seemed to bond quickly with Emily even though we didn't have a planned meet and greet beforehand. I would definitely hire Emily for future needs!”

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Richmond Hill. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
