About: I have cared for dogs, cats, fish, and other animals all my life! I rescue animals when I can, have fostered, bottle fed, treated injuries, given injections and medications to many animals. Animals are my comfort zone- just being around them is my joy! I can do short walks, herding dog games, feed, or provide overnight care. I especially love herding and other working breed dogs, and typically get along with even difficult animals (feral cats for example!) I would love to meet you and your pets! I am a recently retired high school teacher sill working part time at UCSC, so am available most days to care for your pets. I have 2 dogs and 2 kitties at home, bit can easily help out pet parents who need extra walks, play time, or vacation care! My pets are my family (fur babies!) i will care for your pets like my own! I can care for your pets in your home- the least stressful for them! Or take them to a park, hikes, or a leisurely walk. In your home I will make sure to keep everything tidy, and treat your pets as my family- lots of snuggles and playtime!
“Nicole and Ryan were great with my dog Edie! I received updates and pics for every drop in and felt confident knowing my pup was in good hands while I was traveling. They had a conflict during one drop in time and needed to adjust the schedule and offered to come an extra visit later that day to make sure Edie was comfortable. During the meet and greet Nicole asked thoughtful questions about my dog’s preferences, personality, and schedule. I highly recommend and would gladly book with them in the future!”

About: I am a responsible, nurturing and kind individual who loves all animals. I have owned small dogs, large dogs, a cat, aquatic pets, and taken care of many of my friends', family members' pets and been referred to many to care for their dogs and cats. In my last relationship I took full responsibility for three large dogs, one which was a rescue adopted as a puppy, (feeding, administering medications, training, exercise, bathing, grooming, vet visits) for about 5 years. I am currently working part-time and taking a break from school while I prepare to apply to a health profession program. This gives me a very open and flexible schedule, allowing me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs, including morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, and overnight care. Because of my flexible availability, I can devote plenty of time and attention to your pet, ensuring they stay on their normal routine with regular walks, playtime, feeding, potty breaks, and lots of love and companionship. I look forward to working with you and providing your pet with the compassionate, dependable care they deserve while you're away! I provide loving, reliable pet care in your home using your pet's own supplies to help keep their routine as normal as possible. I use the food, treats, toys, bedding, leashes, litter, medications, and any other pet essentials you provide, so I don't bring my own pet supplies. This helps your pet stay comfortable in their familiar environment while you're away. I live in a quiet, small neighborhood with about 0.75 acres of yard space and keep a clean, tidy home with plenty of room for pets to roam and relax. If boarding or daycare is arranged at my home, I will use any pet supplies you provide to maintain your pet's routine and comfort. Whether I'm caring for your pet in your home or mine, I'll follow your instructions closely and treat your pet like family, giving them plenty of attention, exercise, and affection.
About: I’ve been around cats and dogs for about 5 years and I genuinely love spending time with them. I have two cats of my own, so I know every pet has their own little personality and routine. I’m happy to feed them, play with them, go on walks, clean up after them, or just keep them company while you’re away. I’ll make sure your pet gets lots of attention and feels comfortable with me! My schedule is pretty flexible, so I usually have plenty of time to spend with your pets. I’m available throughout the week and can work around your pet’s usual routine. I’ll make sure your pets feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I’m happy to follow whatever routine they’re used to, whether that means walks, playtime, feeding, or just hanging out with them. I’ll also keep you updated so you know how they’re doing!

About: Pets have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. There's always been a cat curled up somewhere or a dog waiting by the door, and taking care of them has never felt like a chore to me. It's just what I do. I work from home, so I'm around a lot during the day and can usually work around your schedule, even for midday visits or last-minute plans. If I'm looking after your pet, you'll hear from me. I like sending updates and photos so you actually get to see how your dog or cat is doing, not just a generic "all good" message. I'm new to Rover, but pets have never been new to me. I'll take care of yours the way I'd want someone to take care of my own. I work remotely, which means I'm home most days and have some flexibility built into my schedule. I can usually fit in midday drop-ins, walks between meetings, or last-minute visits that a lot of sitters with traditional 9-to-5 jobs can't accommodate. Afternoons and evenings tend to be my most open windows, but I'm generally easy to reach and can adjust as needed. I treat your space and your pet's routine with respect. I follow the feeding, medication, and care instructions you provide exactly as given, and I keep your home secure the whole time I'm there. I pay close attention to your pet's body language and comfort level, especially with cats or nervous dogs who need a little more patience before they warm up to someone new. If anything seems off with your pet or your home while I'm there, I'll let you know right away.

About: I have done dog walking and sittings on other apps and with neighbors for 5 years! I have 50+ 5 star reviews on WAG! I also own 2 beautiful pups and have taken care of dogs my whole life. I have a serving job during nights, but I have open ability during the day every day of the week! I like to fit in walks whenever I can! I can not take any more pets into my home, but would love to do sittings and take care of pets at clients homes! *
About: I have 2 dogs that are the absolute loves of my life. I’ve had dogs my whole life and always watch friends dogs and provide exceptional care! What can I say, I like dogs more than people!! I have a flexible work from home schedule and a large flat fenced yard. I love to take dogs for hikes and walks and provide food, pets and care as needed! I am very attuned and aware of dogs. If something seems off, I will take immediate action. I ensure food and treat schedules are adhered to and overall will just love and cuddle and pet and walk your dog! I’m super kind and believe dogs are the kindest souls on earth.
“I wasn't sure how my cats would do with someone they didn't know, but any concerns disappeared when Nicole came by prior to my pet sitting needs in order to meet the cats and get the run down on what the cats would need while I was away on business. Zigs, in particular, is generally weary of new people, but she warmed up to Nicole pretty much straight away, and it wasn't long after that Cheddars was also looking for scritches. To say it was a huge relief to have Nicole look after my fur babies while I was away for nearly a week is an understatement. I have a couple of cat cams so I can look in on them when I'm away, and the history of what was recorded is available for me to check. When I checked in each day, I saw Nicole sitting on the floor playing with and giving scritches to both cats. At one point, Zigs was even following her! When I returned home, both cats were calm and relaxed. They got their nasty canned food every day, fresh water, and all three litter boxes cleaned. They were clearly well cared for while I was away, above and beyond just feeding them and cleaning litter boxes. I will 100% check Nicole's availability anytime I need to have my fur babies looked after and spoiled!”

About: I grew up in a house with three dogs and four cats, so taking care of animals has always been a huge part of my life. I have been dog and cat sitting for others for over 8 years. I have a dog of my own, Layla, who is genuinely the light of my life, so I completely understand how important it is to know your pet is with someone who will love and care for them while you’re away. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time for walks, check-ins, playtime, and keeping your pet company throughout the day. I’m also happy to work around your pet’s normal routine as much as possible! I have years of experience walking, watching, and caring for both dogs and cats, and I genuinely love getting to know each pet and their individual personality. Whether they love long walks and playtime or would rather curl up and get some extra attention, I’m happy to meet them where they’re at. I truly believe our pets are family, and I’ll always treat yours like they’re part of mine. You can expect lots of love, attention, and plenty of cute updates while they’re with me! 🐾 I’m currently working fully remote so I have plenty of time to care for your sweet animals! Early mornings, afternoons, and evenings are all open I believe that animals should only be treated with love, and gentle care, and that dogs are as good as the people caring for them! Making sure I take the time to make your pet comfortable means a lot to me, as I would want someone to do the same with my dog!
About: I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and exotic animals for families and neighbors for over 8 years. This ranges from home check-ins, trips to the vet, and overnight pet sitting. I have two cats at home and share custody of an English lab with my ex-boyfriend. I enjoy treating others pets the way I treat my own. I keep things as routine as possible for my clients, reduce stress, and create fun experiences for them too. I understand that a pet's home and environment are crucial. At home, I make sure my cats always have access to their food and water, litter boxes, and places for them to lounge :)
“Lina is super kind and a great caretaker of pets. I was very grateful she offered to come over beforehand to meet and get the details for caring for my kitties while I was gone. She did a fabulous job and would book again!”

“Lynn is great with our dog Gigi, and has done drop in visits for her multiple times when we are out of town. Lynn sends updated photos each visit, and even did the dirty dishes that were left in the sink.”

“They took good care of our cats, who seemed to like them (which is saying a lot for cats). They took time to play with and groom the cats after they ate. We would hire them again.”

Elizabeth did an amazing job taking care of our cats! She went above and beyond to ensure the cats were comfortable, well fed, and entertained - and even came for additional days during an unexpected heat wave. Would definitely recommend!! Thank you Elizabeth!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
