I have 2 dogs and 2 kitties at home, bit can easily help out pet parents who need extra walks, play time, or vacation care! My pets are my family (fur babies!) i will care for your pets like my own! I can care for your pets in your home- the least stressful for them! Or take them to a park, hikes, or a leisurely walk. About: For the last 6 years I have had different friends and family rely on me for dog, cat, and rabbit care. I have been responsible for scheduled feedings, bathing, walks, and of course playing and quality time. My goal is always to be communicative, reliable, and adaptable to any and all of your pets individual needs. I currently work full-time in retail with a schedule that varies per week, but would love to use any of my free time and days off to spend with pets. All shifts are 8 hours or less and I am more than willing to make time before or after (or both) any of my shifts. My biggest priority in any situation is to remain communicative and careful, as I understand what it’s like to have your pet in somebody else’s care. In cases of pet-sitting in your home I can be trusted to be respectful of all belongings, keeping a clean space, and going above and beyond care instructions. In cases of boarding in my home, I live in a two story house in the hills of Scotts Valley with two other animal-loving housemates. We have a large fenced backyard on a hill and plenty of hiking trails nearby to stay active.
About: A lifelong love for animals has lead me to professionally working in Veterinary medical centers and Shelters. I am an Adoptions Counselor for the San Diego Humane Society. I am Fear Free Certified, trained in proper husbandry and handling for a range of species, and educate new owners on such. I am available all day Mondays and Tuesdays, Thursday through Sunday mornings and evenings for drops ins and walks. With overnights I am flexible as long as communication and time permit. I adore taking pets on walks or out to play! I am comfortable walking dogs of all sizes. I prefer to pet sit in an animal’s own environment for their same. It is already stressful to be away from their family and staying in their homes is helpful.
“Jeanne was on time the two mornings to feed our feral cats which are three to four of them, though these cats she will not see since they hide until she leaves our front yard. Yet, we invited her into our front room when she came to our front door and Jeanne has a wonderful spirit who can talk about just about anything plus no shyness is there about her. Jeanne smiles, laughs and keeps eye contact while we all talked also. Lovely personality she has... I'm glad she lives close by us too. Thank you. Sincerely, Mrs. Bonnie Kellerby”

About: Hi, I’m Paulina! I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember, with hands-on pet care experience dating back to when I was in middle school. Over the years, I’ve cared for all kinds of pets, including guinea pigs, dwarf hamsters, mice, turtles, freshwater fish, a cornsnake, a bearded dragon, and of course, cats and dogs! I have four cats of my own, so I’m very familiar with the responsibility and attention to detail that comes with caring for multiple pets and maintaining their individual routines. I’ve fostered two abandoned puppies, cared for them while they were looking for their next chapter, and helped find them loving homes. I also recently fostered a feral queen and her litter of 4 kittens that were just two weeks old (so tiny and cute!). I had them for about 6 weeks before they went off to their loving homes (yes, I was a foster fail and adopted one!). These experiences really reinforced how much I value giving animals patience, stability, and plenty of affection while they’re in my care. I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and understand that every pet is different. Some need lots of playtime and attention, while others are shy, independent, or need a little extra patience to feel comfortable around someone new. I’m happy to meet pets where they are and follow their normal routines as closely as possible. I’m also very attentive to cleanliness, feeding schedules, fresh water, enrichment, and changes in behavior. I want you to feel confident that your pets aren’t just being checked on but they’re genuinely being cared for. I also completely understand the anxiety and concern when it comes to going on trips and leaving your fur babies at home, so I always send detailed updates with lots of pics. I’d love the opportunity to get to know your fur baby and give them the same care and attention I’d want for my own pets. 🐾♥️ I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to build pet care into my day. I’m able to provide consistent visits, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship almost any time of the day. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I treat every home and every pet with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I carefully follow instructions, keep doors and gates secure, make sure pets have access to fresh water, and pay close attention to their behavior and surroundings. I’m also very respectful of clients’ homes and will leave things clean and exactly as I found them. Before caring for your pet, I like to understand their routine, personality, feeding instructions, medications if applicable, and any quirks or safety concerns. I believe clear communication and attention to detail are key to giving both pets and their people peace of mind.
About: I've had three dogs in my life. I have some training experience with them and have cared for many of my friends' and acquaintances' pets. Looking forward to supporting wherever I can I have pretty open availability right now. Though I do have a daughter in high school, who needs me for drop off and pick ups. It should not be a hindrance b I keep my cats indoors. And my dogs as well. They are crate trained so I can crate your pet as well and am familiar with the process of crate training.
“Olivia was wonderful! My cats liked her immediately and she was very sweet with them. I appreciated the photos and videos of playtime while I was gone and the updates that they had taken their medication with no problem. She was very prompt with every time frame she gave me. Would definitely book again!”

About: I've been a trusted caregiver for my friends' dogs and cats, administering unique care for all the special needs they have. I have a passion for animals and I love getting to know what makes your pet so special! I have experience with oral and topical medical treatments, and I am an active person so I am always ready for walks, hikes, or runs. I am currently working part-time throughout the week, with short-notice availability on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, however with a 2 week notice I can clear up my availability for extended stays. I am happy to follow the typical routines your pet is used to, however I typically go on walks morning and evening, giving plenty of attention in between. I always make safety a priority when taking any dogs on a walk. As someone who has a large aggressive dog, I take extra care to avoid potential issues.
About: Neighbors and friends have relied on me to walk, feed and care for their pets while they are away. I am looking forward to doing same for your family. I'm currently working on a limited basis so I have plenty of time to care for your pups. I am available weekends and most weekdays. I have a fenced-in yard. I can easily crate your dog. My children are ready to give your dog extra love and walks. We love to go on walks.
About: I’ve basically grown up caring for animals — I started bottle‑feeding foster puppies and kittens when I was about six, so I have roughly 15 years of hands‑on experience. I currently have five pets of my own and have been pet- and house‑sitting for neighbors and family friends for 5+ years. I’m comfortable with very young animals (bottle feeding, socialization, scheduled feedings), puppies, and senior pets. I’m reliable, attentive to each pet’s routine, and treat every animal as if they were my own — whether that means long energetic walks, supervised play, or quiet care for a recovering or older pet. I am currently a college student with a very flexible schedule. I am available for check ins, walks and over nights/ house sitting as needed! I adapt to each pet’s routine and home rules so they stay comfortable and stress‑free. In the pet’s home: - Follow the owner’s schedule for feeding, walks, play, and rest exactly. - Use provided leashes, harnesses, crates, and medications; administer meds and record times. - Keep pets on lead when going outside, pick up waste, and clean food/water bowls after meals. - Provide enrichment: play, short training/reinforcement sessions, and supervised free time. - Maintain safety: secure doors/gates, remove hazards, and monitor interactions with people/other animals. - Send regular photo/text updates and note any changes in appetite, behavior, or health. - Lock up and leave the home as found; water plants/mail as requested.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals and have spent my whole life caring for dogs and cats! I currently have two dogs, two chickens, and eight cats of my own, so I’m very familiar with different personalities, routines, and pet care needs. I’ve also been dog walking for the past year, gaining hands-on experience caring for other people’s pets. My background in childcare has taught me patience, responsibility, and attentiveness, which I bring into caring for animals as well. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pets, and I always strive to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved! I’m currently a college student, and my classes only take up about an hour each weekday morning, leaving me with plenty of flexibility throughout the day! Outside of school, I love staying active, going on walks, and spending time at home. Because of this, incorporating pet care into my daily routine feels like a perfect fit! Whether it’s taking your dog on a walk, stopping by for a visit, or spending quality time with your pet at home, I have the time and flexibility to give them plenty of attention and care. I live alone in an apartment in the heart of downtown Campbell, with access to a fully fenced front and backyard that are private and only accessible to me. Although I have pets of my own, they live at my family home, so any animals staying with me will have a comfortable space without other pets around! I’m also just a five-minute walk from Los Gatos Creek Trail and close to several local parks, making it easy to incorporate walks and outdoor time into our daily routine. My biggest priority is making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while maintaining the routines they’re used to at home. Whether your pet is crate-trained, prefers to free roam, or has specific dietary or medical needs, I’m happy to accommodate their individual requirements and follow your instructions closely. I plan to spend plenty of time with the pets in my care, working around my school schedule and their needs. I’m also more than happy to provide photos and updates throughout their stay so you can feel confident that your furry friend is in good hands! For house sitting and drop-in visits, I bring that same level of attention and respect to your home, making sure your pet’s normal routine is maintained as closely as possible.

About: I’ve always had dogs in my house growing up, ranging from an 80lb Lab-Golden Retriever Mix that was not friendly with other dogs to a 15lb miniature poodle that loves other dogs as well as people. I myself love being around dogs and giving them attention! I am currently a university student, and am back at home for the summer until mid-August. I am usually free anytime with an advance notice of at least 3 days to make sure. I have experience dealing with dogs that have been breeded as well as ones with trauma from pet shelters. As long as I have instructions/precautions to take, I will do my best to take care of your dog(s)!
“Highly recommended! Erika has been helping our 6 year old golden retriever (Maui) for several months now -- regular weekly walks and drop in visits when we are out of town. Very responsive, clear communication and takes great care of Maui.”

“Connor is exceptional -helping to walk my disabled pittie that is recovering from spinal surgery. Conner is punctual, communicative and very good at understanding dog personalities. Our dog Rio loves and trusts Connor. Thanks Connor!”

“Danielle was a recommendation from our neighbor. Danielle took wonderful care of our Cookie while we were away for a family vacation. She was responsive over text and very flexible when our vacation dates adjusted where I had to add a day, and then at the last minute, unexpectedly bc of illness, had to shorten it by a day. Our dog gets very lonely when left alone, and Danielle made sure to give her extra hugs, kisses and attention.”

Elizabeth did an amazing job taking care of our cats! She went above and beyond to ensure the cats were comfortable, well fed, and entertained - and even came for additional days during an unexpected heat wave. Would definitely recommend!! Thank you Elizabeth!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
