“I had to go out of town for a full week, which is not unusual for me, but a few of my pets are now considered seniors so I don’t feel as comfortable having someone quickly drop food and leave anymore. Allison came for at least half an hour every single time she stopped by. She played with them and made sure that they had enrichment during the day, I could tell treats were definitely enjoyed, and it seemed that everyone was eating very well. I have baby cameras throughout my house to keep an eye on them and every time I checked and they looked so peaceful and happy. In fact, they were even sleeping in bed together, something they haven’t done since one of my others passed away last December. It truly warmed my heart to see how much better they did with her than my usual quick drop by visits. I will definitely be using her again and if you have any senior or shy animals, I would highly recommend her.”
About: I’ve always had family animals that I’ve adored and that got my foot into working in rescue! I’ve work with extra small to extra large dogs, a lot of cats and some other species. I feel very comfortable with behavioral differences in different animals. I’ve worked along side very talented vets and techs that have taught me a lot about medical care, as well. I work part time at home with a dog and two cats. I take physical and mental enrichment very seriously for all animals. Any animal I’m caring for comes first everyday. A tired dog is a happy dog. I have friendly animals at home, a large crate if needed and a separate room set up for shy animals to warm up to the other animals. We have a large (not fenced) yard but we take many long walks a day to keep up with physical needs!
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all sizes, from shih tzus to golden retrievers, and can also cater to special requirements. Past experiences have included no teeth, joint pain, and diabetes. I am currently a full time student, and would prefer to have visits /walks in the evening. However, under special circumstances, a day visit can be arranged. I will respect the boundaries of the dog, starting off slow and gaining their trust before anything else. I’m no stranger to skittish dogs, and sometimes it just takes a bit of time, but most if not all do warm up.
About: Big or small, I’ve probably kissed it on the nose! My vet hospital experience gives me the ability to acknowledge changes in each species better than most. I’m a lover of horses and cows, so big dogs wouldn’t be any different for me. About: My family has had dogs and cats my entire life so I am experienced in taking care of both, I often watch the pets of friends and family. I am a grad student so my schedule is very flexible. I am able to check on cats in the morning and at night, helping with routine related activities (e.g. feeding, changing water, etc) I have a safe and secure home with minimal clutter, since I myself have a cat I make sure to keep dangerous things out of his reach and am conscious of reducing risk in all situations. About: As a child, my family had a Maltese since he was a puppy and he lived until the age of 15 years old. His life expectancy was around 7 years old, so he was a senior dog. In my clients home, I closely follow the rules and duties of the care they require to care for their dogs. I set up a meet n' greet with the dog and owner before committing. I like to meet the dog beforehand to see if we are a good fit by interacting, playing with or taking them on a walk with the owner around their usual route in order to gauge their temperament and comfortability with me. I ask various questions about how the owner takes care of the dog, so I can best follow their lead. I ask about daily routine activities, food schedule, treat frequency, walking time, habits, likes, dislikes, etc. I prefer to follow the daily routine and activities that the dog is used to in order to keep them on track while their owner is away. (**The app takes 20% from my pay so what's advertised is not what I get paid out**)

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
