“Boryana took such great care of our dog River! Received an update every evening with pictures!! She made me feel completely comfortable leaving him while I was away. I will be having her stay with River anytime we go away!”

About: Experienced with both large and small dogs, as well as senior dogs. My last dog was a husky, so I’m no stranger to dogs with high exercise needs as well! Looking forward to helping your family (both furry and otherwise!) this summer. General Availability: I currently work part time (and completely remotely!) Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I can be very flexible to meet your needs Thursday-Sunday, and am available for early morning and/or late evening walks/drop-ins Monday-Wednesday. I am comfortable spending the night in your home and will work from home for house-sitting requests. I am currently unable to care for pets in my own home, but am happy to feed, walk, play with, or just keep an eye on your pet in your home.
“Vee was very attentive to our cat, Chaos. She took the time to come meet us before her stay, and she followed all of our instructions to the letter, especially for his medication. She kept us updated with information and pictures, and clearly enjoyed taking care of Chaos. We hope to have Vee cat sit for us again!”

“Yasmine was absolutely incredible and I highly recommend! My girls aren't too difficult but they are certainly particular and Yasmine killed it. She stayed at my place for a week and when I returned, it looked exactly as I had left it. I've finally come home from a trip and genuinely felt like my girls were taken care of.”

About: Hello all! I have previous experience caring for a hamster and am currently the proud owner of an American Pit Bull Terrier. I’m passionate about training, grooming, and overall animal care, and I’m always refining my skills. I work in healthcare and fitness, so I’m active, hands-on, and detail-oriented. My strong work ethic, communication skills, and personable nature allow me to build great relationships with both people and their furry friends! I have open and flexible weekend availability, and I’m available most weekday evenings as well. I also enjoy working early morning shifts and am happy to accommodate those when needed. I love outdoor walks and playtime—I have stamina for days! I’m also comfortable handling grooming, as I do all of my own pet’s grooming. I’m patient, attentive, and always want pets to feel comfortable, enriched, well-rested, fed, and, most importantly, loved.
“Stacey was as advertised per previous reviews. She communicates extensively, which I love because when it comes to our pup I want to be informed and leave nothing up to chance. We will definitely be using her going forward.”

About: Diagnosed with allergies in childhood, I didn’t have pets until in my 20s, when I picked a week-old kitten from a litter & raised him. Thelonious used to walk between my shoulders as I moved around the house, and slept in my bed. Friends told me he behaved more like a dog than a cat—very affectionate. We were very close. His death broke my heart & I still miss him. Seven years ago, I did cat-sitting for a friend whose apartment in NYC I stayed in for a summer while working nearby on Varick Street. He was a very easygoing cat. Years later, my stepson left his dogs at our house & I was their primary minder. I fed, walked & played with them every day. Although I’d been around dogs a lot growing up, it’s one thing to be around them & another to be responsible for them & develop relationships with them. Each of the dogs had a very distinct personality, and I found them fascinating. Through those & other experiences with friends’ pets, I’ve found that I’m able to make connections with animals that go beyond words. I never would have imagined such a thing in childhood. These days I do house sitting & drop-ins for clients in Monmouth, Mercer & Middlesex Counties. I’m tending to pets with a wide range of needs & dispositions, and love I give is more than equaled by the love I receive from them. I’m truly humbled & in awe. Professionally, I managed desktop publishing & automated publishing for a Fortune 500 financial firm for 20 years. So I have a long track record of responsibility & discipline. That combination of sensitivity & responsibility are what I bring to pet sitting. I only accept clients living within a 30-minute drive from my home, and my routines at home are easily adaptable to meet my clients’ needs. That means my highly flexible schedule allows me to provide your cat with the consistent time, routine, and attention they deserve while you are gone. I don’t rush my check-ins; I stay the full duration to ensure your pet gets plenty of physical play and mental stimulation. Because my hours are highly adaptable, I can drop in at the exact times your pet expects breakfast, dinner, or treats. I’m happy to take photos during my stay to enable you as the pet owner to feel secure about your pet’s care in your absence. I like to play with & talk to pets, and try to adhere to their normal routines, so they, too, feel comfortable in your absence.
“Marissa is so great! She was flexible when my travel arrangements got delayed and sent me lots of pictures of my fur baby. She is very responsive and overall, great to work with!”

“Hannah did a great job looking after my cat, Otto. I appreciated her clear communication and her text updates while I was away, and it put my mind at ease knowing that Otto was in good hands.”

About: Hello! I’ve had dogs and cats and pets of all kinds since I was a kid! So it’s over 20 years now 🥲 I have 5 years of experience as a volunteer for my local shelter, fostering kittens and dogs. I’ve cared for sick and skittish animals. I’ve personally had mostly small and medium shelter recuses, but I’ve cared for all types, big or small! I’ve had 3 cats for the last 10 years and I’m a certified cat lover 😻😻 I’ve also looked after guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, and even frogs, so basically if it has fur, fins, or a tank, I’ve probably fed it at some point. I’m excited to look after your fur babies as well! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I keep a flexible, full-time schedule so I can be available whenever care is needed! I’m available for overnights, regular check-ins, and walks whenever your pet needs them, including weekdays and weekends. Whatever routine your pet is used to, I can work around it!! Since I care for pets in their own home, I can keep their routine exactly as it is if you were there. The same food times, same walk schedule, same rules. I’m careful about doors and gates, keep the home secure while you’re away, and treat your space with the same respect I’d want for my own :))
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats for the past couple years. I have taken care of both family and friends dogs as well as neighbors from word of mouth. I am currently working remotely part time from home so I am generally pretty free to dog sit or pop in to feed any pets during the day. I can't take care of any pets in my home, but can go to your home and either dog sit from there or walk your dog.
“Simply put, Joey was outstanding, both with his care of Pablo as well as management of our home while staying here. As a person, he’s a young man of high integrity who is kind, thoughtful, and detail oriented! He loves dogs; kept me posted with text and pics; and maintains a positive and loving temperament. He exceeded my expectations and would give him my highest recommendation!”

I work remote one day a week so I’m happy to watch dogs or take them out, I just need a heads up to pick the day I work from home. I also typically work 8-4:30 so I’m happy to take dogs out in the mornings before work or as soon as I get home! I’m also happy to do weekends. “Jack took great care of my 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 guinea pigs for almost a week! From the pictures I received I could tell my pets were super happy. The dogs were played with and cuddled, and the cats too. Jack took my outdoor obsessed, indoor only cat out for supervised yard time, even though I said no pressure to do so! The guinea pig cages were really clean, and the girls were not hiding in the pictures so I knew Jack was spending quality time with them and earned their trust. I was able to enjoy my trip with peace of mind that my pets were safe and loved! I’d trust Jack to care for all 7 of my pets again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Princeton Meadows
Jill was outstanding with taking care of our fur children while we were away for ten days. She was able to handle an Australian Cattle Dog with anxiety issues and three Orange Furballs without breaking a sweat. Nightly medication for one, teeth brushing for another with dental issues - she handled it all. Jill sent us daily photos and updates with how everyone was doing. We were able to relax and enjoy our vacation knowing our guys were in good hands. We can not recommend Jill highly enough, and definitely look forward to working with her again.
Alisha is a delight! When she came to meet my cat and dog they immediately liked her and her warm energy. I felt instantly comfortable allowing Alisha into our home for her stay. She sent pictures everyday and small check-in notes, and I could tell she really cares about our pets and their wellbeing. I felt confident that our pets were in good hands, as Alisha is responsive, punctual, responsible, and very kind. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Princeton Meadows walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Princeton Meadows maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Princeton Meadows choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Princeton Meadows. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
