“Catrina was a great dog walker/dog sitter for Bella. She provided ample updates with pictures and was very communicative. I completely trust her with Bella. Bella is also a big German Shepherd and she was able to walk her and feed her exactly as I would. I would definitely recommend her to take care of your dog.”

About: I previously worked at Best Friends Pet Care. I worked there for two and a half years! I specialized there as a tiny camp counselor where I monitored a group of small to medium sized dogs for a few hours. I have experience handling, playing with and taking care of dogs from 2lbs to 150lbs, i’ve seen it all! I’ve also dealt with dogs of many ages from puppies to seniors. I have two family dogs of my own and currently have a cat with my partner and am my happiest when caring for fuzzy friends! I’m used to having an animal around 24/7 and wouldn’t have it any other way. I am currently in between jobs after a move. I am now available Monday- Friday anywhere from 10am - 5pm! I have lots of time to be with your fur baby. I can communicate with you on whatever you need for your pets! Whether that involves walks/ medication/ crates/ play time etc. I am open to hearing your dog’s personal needs and helping how I can!
“Vee was a very thorough sitter for my 2 year old cat. She took the time to visit with my cat beforehand and really understand her needs and what she’s used to. Vee sent me plenty of photos and a very detailed follow up note about her visit. My cat is definitely very particular and Vee did a great job caring for her!”

“Thank you so much for taking care of my cats while I was away. I truly appreciate your time and help, and overall I was very happy knowing they had someone looking after them. Wishing you nothing but happiness and all the best in life. Take care”

“Sha provided fantastic care. She is extremely reliable, responds very aptly to any updates, and pays close attention to detail by following all of my specific instructions carefully. I would gladly book her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

About: Had three pet Labradors until I was 14. My family moved houses and so we had to give our dogs up for adoption T-T. We got 2 cats and one ran away after 6 months and we never saw him again, he was very adventurous. Then his brother Jason we had him for 5 years until he passed away in 2018 and my mom could not take the pain of having another pet so I’ve been petless ever since but I love animals and visit the SPCA to donate dog food. I am familiar with taking care of dogs and cats and have the basic experience that any loving pet owner should have. I am able to walk with dogs, run with them, play catch, make sure they don’t eat anything toxic, clean up after them etc. I’m also familiar with cats, I can give them attention when they want it and make sure they don’t get up to too much mischief. I currently have a pet Doberman and I love her to death! I am on Rover because I wanted to save up some money before I relocate for my new job out of state. I have a free schedule so I am available for the whole day, all days a week. Hit me up if you need help taking care of your significant animal!🤙🏽 I’m available 24/7. I recently quit my job as I accepted a job offer out of state so I am free for the rest of this month. That means I have no responsibilities right now until I leave Chico. To care for my pet I basically stick to them. I have a pet Doberman and they are a breed with pretty bad attachment issues so me and my girlfriend are always around her and we only leave her alone for 5 hours at most.

And I always make sure to remember things easily forgotten, such and changing out their water!
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, and I honestly can’t imagine it any other way! I’ve grown up with dogs and cats and have had my own horse since I was 12. Caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life, and over the years, I’ve learned a lot about their care, health, and individual needs through caring for my own horse and pets. I truly love spending time with animals and getting to know their different personalities. Whether your pet wants to play, go for a walk, get some extra cuddles, or just have someone around while you’re away, I’d love to be that person for them! I’m also a Registered Nurse at RWJBarnabas, so I’m responsible, attentive, and comfortable handling situations that require a little extra care. Most importantly, I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I work M-F 7:30AM-4PM. Weekends are free, however, during the week if your pet needs to be let out during the day I will not be available unless it is before/after work. I offer walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays, and pet sitting tailored to your pet’s needs. I’m flexible and happy to work with their routine and personalities!

“My kitty was very happy when Megan came. She kept us update with pictures and messages. We were able to enjoy our trip knowing our little guy was being taken care of.”

About: I've been caring for pets for a little over 5 years now. I used to work at a pet store handling fish, birds and small animals as well. I have a 5 year old golden retriever as well as 2 cats. I can help administer medications for dogs and cats that need it. I can also care for elderly dogs and puppies. I don't mind bathing them or doing nail trims either. I'm currently a college student doing online classes so I have plenty of time to drop by a clients house or to have them come to mine. Right now Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays work the mest with my schedule. I would be more than willing to negotiate other timings as well. I have a fenced in backyard and a dog to keep yours company. My entire house is pet friendly and welcoming. I can also crate your dog if needed and make the environment more comfortable for them
“Yaqin was great with Fafa! It was too hot outside for a regular walk, so she adjusted the visit and found other ways to keep Fafa active and entertained. She even did some strength exercises with him and gave him plenty of enrichment and attention. I really appreciated how attentive she was and how well she adapted to Fafa’s needs. Would definitely book with her again!”

“Bhali was so helpful and caring with our two dogs. They were well taken care of and very happy to go on walks with her. She catered to their needs and we appreciated the punctual check-ins with detailed updates and photos. Thank you so much Bhali!”
About: Hi, I’m Jill and I live in Hightstown, NJ. I have loved animals from a very young age and grew up with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, lizards and hamsters, so I’m knowledgeable on what needs to go into caring for them. I’m able to provide a safe environment with a large fenced backyard for your dog(s) to run and play. I work from home some days, but otherwise I am in my office 15 min away from my home. I love to go for walks, so your pet can get in a good amount of exercise. As I currently do not have any pets myself, I am excited to get the friendship and love that dogs always provide! Looking forward to meeting you and your pup(s)!
“Jaymin has been coming to look after our Coco while we’re at work this whole week. She’s been great at keeping us updated and checking in. Attentive to Coco and any requests we have. We will be starting recurring visits during our work days!”

About: We always had pets growing up. Mom to young kids who love animals. Great exercise and fun for the kids! Reliable, trustworthy, and will take the utmost care of your animal. I’m part remote and kids are in nursery school part time so someone is usually always home throughout the week. Weekends are usually spent exploring a park or playground. If I’m dog sitting that week the pup always comes along! Always looking to get some fresh air, exercise, and meet new fur friends! I have a fenced (aluminum) in yard and my house is baby proof so gates in play room and upstairs. Your pet will become a fur family member while you are away and my kids and husband will love them. Im currently working part time remote so I can board at any time in the week as my schedule is very flexible. If I’m not home then my husband will be home with our kiddos and your pup. I have a fenced in yard and play gates in my house (for my kids) but also gives everyone space if needed. We go out for walks 2/3 times a day and we have a local playground we walk too in the neighborhood for some extra play. The kids love to engage with the pup and we usually spend a good amount of time outside throwing the ball or stick.

As a registered nurse with over 12 years of experience, I understand that every living being deserves individualized attention, patience, and a safe, nurturing environment. My commitment is to provide the same level of compassion, attention, and professionalism that I would want for my own pets. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Princeton Meadows
Catrina truly is amazing!! She took such amazing care of our cat while we were away for a long period of time. She sent great updates, pictures, and truly treated our cat like it was hers. Our cat doesn’t love a lot of people and she was obsessed with Catrina. Highly recommend!

This is the second time I have booked Jill and I will definitely be reaching out to her for my future pet sitting needs. Jill is extremely professional, friendly, helpful, and all around a great person to work with. She was patient and won the trust of my very shy adult cat and kept me well informed with updates and pictures while I was out of town.

Abigail completed another great visit with photos of how happy and comfortable my dog was with her. She also went above and beyond with being handy in fixing the gate latch, which recently broke. This shows how caring and attentive Abigail is, and I highly recommend her to other pet owners!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
