I have returned to school to earn my PhD as an adult in my 30s, which means I have both many years of experience with animals and significant flexibility to help out as your schedule requires. I have spent my whole life around animals - I grew up in a house with two cats, a dog (chow chow), and a multitude of fish; I worked for a stint on a farm as a teenager; and as an adult I have two sweet cats! I have been pet sitting for family and friends since I was young, most recently caring for a variety of cats and dogs for friends during work travel, vacations, and weddings.

Safety, trust & environment
I am trained in pet first aid and am privately insured. I have experience giving medications, navigating allergies, and working with pets of all life stages. I also have a knack for befriending shy pets, especially nervous cats! Please note the following policies I have in place to ensure the safety of your pet: 1. All pets must be fully up-to-date on vaccinations, and any ongoing medical conditions should be disclosed. 2. Indoor/outdoor cats must remain indoors for the duration of the booking. 3. For cats, I strongly recommend booking drop-in visits at least once per day. To ensure your cat’s wellbeing, I do not accept requests for visits spaced further apart than every other day.

Catrina was great! She did a week of drop-in visits for our cats, taking care of feeding, refreshing water, and litter cleaning. Our cats are shy, often never seen by cat feeders. As we had asked, Catrina did not invade their hiding places, but she was able to coax one to approach her -- something that we did not expect -- which gave us peace of mind knowing that they had felt safe with Catrina while we were away.
Catrina was very communicative and friendly, and our kitties loved her! She paid attention to their individual personalities and made sure to give them plenty of play time and attention. She also sent photo updates which we loved and were super cute! We felt like our pets were in good hands.
Catrina was wonderful during the drop in visit for our mini dachshund! She was very respectful and paid attention to details during our meet and greet, and sent update & pictures after the visit to let us know how everything went. We felt very comfortable trusting Catrina to watch our pet. Definitely recommend!
It was SUCH a relief to find Catrina! She really gets (and likes!) cats. I didn't need to explain cat body language or the social dynamics between my cats, because she already understood it. My two shy cats were comfortable enough to come out to play and take treats from Catrina on her first visit! She sent a bunch of great pictures of all of them eating, playing, and following her around. Also, Catrina came by early to meet them and brought a notebook to write down the answers to her questions. If you are a slightly (or very) obsessive cat parent, you will feel much better about going away knowing your cats are in Catrina's hands.
Catrina had immediate rapport with my 2 cats and did a great job with updates and pictures. Since one of the cats was new to the household and had only been with the resident cat about 5 weeks I really appreciated the information as I was nervous leaving them alone. Catrina played with them and took good care of food and litter boxes. Everything was neat and clean and the cats were happy when I got home.
Catrina was great with our cat Sophie! She was very detail oriented and provided amazing photos and feedback on how our cat was doing while we were away. Would highly recommend!

Schedule
As a PhD student, my schedule is very flexible, and I always welcome study breaks to hang out with your furry friends! I am available mornings, afternoons, and evenings, including during weekdays and normal business hours.
