I have been a caretaker of pets for over 30 years for family, friends and neighbors. I have been here on Rover since 2019 mainly serving Plainsboro, and parts of Monmouth Junction and Cranbury. While I have cared for and/or lived with wide variety of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, a snake and a tarantula, and been an aunt to many rescued cats and dogs of mixed breeds, plus a puggle, a chihuahua, and a bull mastiff, I have the most experience with cats, dogs and rabbits, particularly skittish and elderly cats. I have had three cats of my own who happily lived 13, 14 and 19 years, respectively and a solo old house rabbit who held court at our home for 9 years, as we all dutifully served as her subjects. I make it my mission to treat your pets (and your home) as if they were my own with safety being my #1 priority. While you are away, I make sure your pet feels loved, cared for, happy and secure in their own home. I take lots of photos and send a thorough summary of each visit.

Qualifications

I require a brief (free) meet and greet prior to finalizing your first booking to help ensure your pet and I are a good fit. I also take that time to go over your pet’s individual needs and answer any questions or concerns that you may have. Safety policy notes: Dogs must be able to obey basic commands (sit, stay, and leave it). Your pet(s) must be up to date on all age appropriate vaccinations. Dogs (and cats who are not exclusively indoors) must also be on a flea and tick prevention regimen. Dogs are always leashed while outside, unless there is a fully fenced-in, secure back yard. I prefer to use harnesses whenever possible. On walks, I do not allow the dog to interact with other dogs or people. I do not typically use dog parks because of this reason. I do not allow cats outdoors during my drop-ins. I respect all local laws and regulations. Please advise if your HOA or community has any policies or restrictions regarding pets or dog walking. Martha was fabulous. Bodhi and Bandit loved her. She was very generous with her time and played with them a great deal. Great pictures and commentary about their day. She kept the house extremely clean. We felt very comfortable while away that our cats were well loved!
Martha took such incredible care of Bitty while I was away. This was my first time leaving her home alone for an extended period, and I was nervous because she’s an older cat and has been through a lot. Martha immediately put me at ease with the sweetest, most detailed updates written from Bitty’s perspective, along with tons of photos from every visit. You could tell she genuinely cared about Bitty’s comfort, routine, and emotional wellbeing — not just the basics of feeding and litter. She spent real quality time with her brushing her, cleaning her face gently when Bitty allowed it, sitting with her on the couch, and even letting Bitty nap on her lap during visits. The updates were thoughtful, funny, and reassuring, and I could tell Martha was paying close attention to Bitty’s eating, drinking, litter box habits, mood, and behavior. By the end of the visits, Bitty was clearly comfortable and attached to her, which says everything. I came home to a happy, relaxed cat and I’m so grateful. I would absolutely trust Martha again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone kind, patient, communicative, and genuinely invested in your pet’s wellbeing.
Martha is great! She came to look at everything beforehand, and she is extremely organized. I hope, she'll be able to fit us into her schedule in the future.
Martha takes wonderful care of our two cats. She makes sure our one cat gets his medication. She also takes good care of our house making sure everything is clean and locked up when she leaves. She’s an excellent and reliable caregiver.

I am mainly available during the day (8:30 am-3:00pm) on weekdays though I can do select evening visits (7:30-8:00 pm) and weekends if needed, schedule permitting. Cat drop-in and existing dog walk clients: please message me directly to double check if your prospective date(s) appears unavailable. In some cases, blocked dates reflect partial day availability.
