“Matt has been great walking our dog Ziva. She looks so happy in all the pictures he sends. He's even brought our trash bins back to the house on trash pick up days - so thoughtful! We get great communication with each walk. I definitely recommend him for dog walking!”
“Ella was the absolute best! It takes a special person to make my Akita puppy feel comfortable and Ella did just that. She took care of him as his own and made me feel so comfortable while I was away. I was able to be at ease knowing she was talking care of my puppy carefully. 100% would recommend Ella to anyone and will Ella's services whenever I can. Thank you again Ella 💓”

“Kelly came on a cold and rainy day today to walk our little dog. I asked her just yesterday because something came up suddenly. I was really hoping she’d do it and as usual she said sure! She’s a Godsend. We feel very lucky!”

“Kim is absolutely wonderful, I can’t recommend her enough! She is flexible, conscientious, kind, and really cared about my quirky dog. Her communication and updates are excellent. She is incredibly reliable and I never worried about Daisy for a second while Kim was taking care of her (and I worry about everything). I was always confident that Daisy would be safe and happy, because Kim goes above and beyond to ensure that. When my dog hurt her back a day before a housesitting visit and required meds, Kim was unfazed and helped Daisy make a full recovery. She also takes the best pictures, which were such a treat to get while I was out!”

About: I have returned to school to earn my PhD as an adult in my 30s, which means I have both many years of experience with animals and significant flexibility to help out as your schedule requires. I have spent my whole life around animals - I grew up in a house with two cats, a dog (chow chow), and a multitude of fish; I worked for a stint on a farm as a teenager; and as an adult I have two sweet cats! I have been pet sitting for family and friends since I was young, most recently caring for a variety of cats and dogs for friends during work travel, vacations, and weddings. I have experience with cats of all life stages, giving medications, and walking both small and large dogs. I am a PhD student, which means that my schedule is very flexible! (It also means I always welcome study breaks to hang out with your furry friends!) I am available mornings, afternoons, and evenings, including during weekdays and normal business hours. Because I have two cats of my own, I am not able to offer services in my own home at this time. I offer in-home care and dog walking, and am happy to learn from you where your dog most likes to go for walks! I do have a car, and am able to transport pets to walking trails or dog parks if desired, but would only do so with your prior permission.
About: I have taken care of neighbor's cats since I was 12, providing meals, medicine and love. I have had my own dog for 9 years who I also care for. I volunteered at SAVE animal shelter for 3 years taking care of cats. I just graduated high school so I am free this entire summer before I leave for college in the beginning of September 2026. I work at the YMCA on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-7 but am free the rest of the week. I can easily take care of the pet in my clients home. I have experience doing so; cleaning litter boxes, taking care of the house, cleaning up messes, and more. I can water plants or provide any other house services while the owners are away.
About: Hi! My name is Jane. I'm a 26-year-old master's student at USM with a lifelong love for animals. I grew up surrounded by Newfoundlands and cats, and I've been pet sitting for friends, neighbors, and clients for many years. I'm responsible, experienced, and genuinely enjoy spending time with pets-whether it's walks, playtime, or just keeping them company. I'd love the chance to care for your dog like one of my own! As a graduate student, I have a flexible schedule that varies with each semester, allowing me to adjust my availability to fit pet care needs. I’m reliable and prompt, and I make pet sitting a priority by incorporating it thoughtfully into my daily and weekly routine. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding, or playtime, I ensure your pet receives consistent attention and care regardless of my other commitments. When caring for pets, I create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment where your pet can feel relaxed and happy. I provide plenty of attention, regular feeding, exercise, and playtime tailored to their needs. For care in your home, I follow your pet’s usual routine closely, respecting their habits and preferences to ensure minimal disruption. I prioritize your pet’s well-being, safety, and happiness every step of the way.
About: I’ve always enjoyed caring for animals and have experience with both dogs and cats. I’ve helped walk and play with my aunt’s dog and make sure he’s safe and comfortable. I also used to cat sit when I was younger, where I fed, played with, and cared for the cat. I’m responsible, patient, and attentive to each pet’s needs. I always make sure they are well cared for and comfortable while their owner is away. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine, and I make time for it around my other commitments. I have gymnastics training Mon, Wed, and Fri from 8am-12pm, and Tues and Thurs from 12pm-4pm. I am away on weekends, so I am only available during weekdays outside of those practice times. I’m organized and good at planning ahead, so I can make sure pets still receive reliable and consistent care during my available hours. When walking dogs, I’m focused on safety and following each owner’s instructions carefully. I keep dogs secure on leash and stay alert during walks. I also pay attention to each dog’s behavior to make sure they are comfortable and have a positive experience.
About: I deeply enjoy caring for dogs as I grew up with them throughout my childhood! Neighbors and family frequently confide in me to care for their pets, and I currently care for a guinea pig. I’m home from college and I have plenty of time and wide availability to take care of your pets. I have no problem fitting them into my daily schedule. I make sure pets receive what they need from my service, whether that be food, play, treats or outdoor time. I make sure they get the attention and love they deserve.
About: I can take on the most hyper of dogs (I have one myself). I understand the high demand of a hyper dog and am ready to walk and play with your furry friend! I can also care for small critters! I work 2p-10p full time as a behavior specialist with individuals with autism. I am available most mornings and am available for overnights after 10pm! I always ensure that my pets have everything they need: lots of love, an extra long walk on sunny days, toys to play with, and food that meets their diets needs.
About: Growing up with dogs, I've always been comfortable caring for pets of different sizes, breeds, and personalities. I'm active, reliable, and enjoy spending time outdoors, making me a great fit for dogs who need plenty of exercise and attention. I understand that every dog is different, so will work with you to learn their routine, energy level, and preferences to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. Whether it's a long walk, playtime, feeding, or simply providing companionship, I treat every dog as if they were my own. I'm committed to being dependable, communicative, and attentive, giving owners peace of mind while ensuring their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for. As a nurse, I work three 12-hour shifts each week, which gives me four full days off with plenty of flexibility to care for pets. On my days off, I have the time and energy to provide attentive care, whether that's walks, drop-in visits, playtime, or simply keeping your dog company. My priority is always making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. Whether I'm caring for your pet in your home or taking them on walks, I treat them as if they were my own. I pay close attention to their safety, ensure they have plenty of exercise, fresh water, and affection, and make sure they are always secure during walks and outdoor activities. I also know how important peace of mind is for pet owners, so I provide frequent updates and photos throughout my visits. You'll never have to wonder how your pup is doing - I love sharing pictures and keeping owners informed so they can feel confident their dog is happy, safe, and having a great time.

We couldn't be happier with Mr. Hong! He kindly stopped by to meet our dog, Sengay, before the booked dates to make sure it was a good fit, and they instantly connected. He gave us complete peace of mind by sending wonderful pictures while they were out walking and after getting Sengay safely back inside. I highly recommend him and would definitely hire him again

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
