“Anne was extremely helpful with our cats. She went above and beyond! She sent us daily pictures and long updates, which we appreciated so much. She is very prompt at responding too. I truly appreciate all her help and will definitely reach out to her again whenever I need pet sitting service. I highly highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter. She is the best sitter we have ever had!”

“Kimberly is such an amazing sitter! She is very friendly and easy to communicate. She took great care of my cat Tutu and always share detailed notes and adorable pictures. Kimberly is also a pro at interacting with cat and Tutu loved spending time with her! Highly recommended!!”

“I was able to go on a trip and leave my cat in Scott and Keiko's expert care. Keiko really loves animals and it definitely shows. She also gave really good updates daily and photos! I'll definitely ask Keiko to catsit on my future trips.”

“Jennifer is so reliable, flexible and always goes above and beyond. We are so lucky to have found her! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

“I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter. From the very first moment, it was clear that Ella truly understands cats—not just their routines, but their emotions, boundaries, and quiet language. My cats felt safe and genuinely cared for, which says everything. Ella has what I can only describe as soul cat energy: patient, intuitive, and deeply kind. She went above and beyond, not just making sure everything was done, but making sure my cats felt loved. Ella is a true star and a rare find.”

About: My family adopted a puppy when I was nine, and we named her Sora—“sky” in Japanese. From that moment on, I fell in love with caring for her: watching her grow, teaching her tricks, and napping beside her. She crossed the rainbow bridge seven years ago, but I still think of her often. Whenever I think of her, I feel the same warmth as when we used to lie in the sun together. Since 2018, I’ve also cared for two medium-sized sibling dogs. I loved getting to know their personalities and spending time with them. Now, I share my home with two cats. Even after the longest, hardest days, they make everything feel okay the moment they greet me at the door—usually with a sleepy yawn 😄 As you can tell, I’ve always loved dogs. I never imagined I’d become a “cat person,” but now I think I’m happily both. I love my angel Sora, those two dogs, and my two cats so deeply—and I truly believe every pet deserves endless love and the very best care. I have a full-time job in the Princeton area and typically finish at 4:30 PM. I’d be happy to walk your dogs or spend time with your cats anytime after work. I’m also available most weekends. In addition, I usually have extended breaks throughout the year. My summer break typically runs from mid-May through the end of August, and my winter break is usually from mid-December to mid-January. During those times, I have much more flexibility. Feel free to reach out anytime to check my availability! I will always respect your home and your privacy, and most importantly, I’ll take the very best care of your pets. While you’re away, I’m happy to stay in touch—whether by text or call—with updates, photos, or videos. I understand how much you’ll miss them and how reassuring it is to know they’re doing well.
About: My weekends are spent caring for animals at a local animal sanctuary. I tend to dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. I spent my entire life having pets in the house and I am very comfortable giving them the love and attention they deserve while their family is away. I am a college student with frequent free time to take on pet sitting, walking, or visits. My classes are once a day, usually just for a few hours. I am available to take care of your pet while you're at work, school, or just out having fun! My most recent pet experience was caring for animals at St. Bonnies Animal Sanctuary. I am very used to working with all types of dogs and taking them on frequent walks. Pet sitting and house sitting have been an ongoing job for me with friends and family for many years now, but I'm looking to offer my assistance to a larger group of people. My current dog is a rescue, so I am used to working with animals who need some time to adjust to a new face.
About: I’ve taken care of my own dog for years and have helped care for senior pets, as well as friends’ and family’s dogs and cats. I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. Dogs are my absolute favorite. I’m a college student at Rutgers and currently on a long break, so I’m around for most of it and have a very flexible schedule. This allows me to give pets plenty of attention, care, and time throughout the day. I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm environment. At home, I care for my own 5-year-old Cockapoo who is shy, so I’m very attentive to each pet’s comfort level and needs. I keep a clean, safe space and can crate dogs if needed to make sure everyone feels secure.
“Abigail was patient with my stubborn and mischievous collie, who is 60 lbs and not the easiest to manage. My collie was relaxed and content after her visits. I also left a long list of instructions, which were followed to the letter. That shows good and trustworthy work. Thank you, Abigail!”

“Nina took great care of Lyra, who felt super comfortable with her right away. Nina took great photos every visit and was so communicative and caring, I will definitely be booking again!!”

About: I have two cats of my own who I have taken care of for 4 years! Along with that I frequently walk and dog sit for neighbors who go on vacation! I also volunteer at the nearby animal shelter! I currently only work a part time job some days a week leaving me plenty of time! My work schedule is flexible in case of any emergencies as well! I don’t mind early morning visits or late ones! I’ll follow any instructions given! I’m very patient so if you have a shy pet, no worries! I’ll let them warm up to me no pressure at all! If they want to play, perfect! If they just want to sleep, that’s also okay! I’m super flexible and can adapt to any situation.
“Heather did a great job looking after our pets while we are away for almost a month. We came home to a happy and well cared pets. She did amazing updating us on her every visit that includes photos and videos of our dog and cats. We were at peace knowing that our pets were in good hands. She’s very calm, gentle, and professional. Can’t recommend her enough! We will definitely book her again next time we need someone to check on our fur babies.”

“Sha was a really great pet sitter for Kulfi. It was easy to communicate with her even during the midst of the holidays which are a very busy time, and everything went really smoothly. Thank you so much!”

About: I have returned to school to earn my PhD as an adult in my 30s, which means I have both many years of experience with animals and significant flexibility to help out as your schedule requires. I have spent my whole life around animals - I grew up in a house with two cats, a dog (chow chow), and a multitude of fish; I worked for a stint on a farm as a teenager; and as an adult I have two sweet cats! I have been pet sitting for family and friends since I was young, most recently caring for a variety of cats and dogs for friends during work travel, vacations, and weddings. I have experience with cats of all life stages, giving medications, and walking both small and large dogs. I am a PhD student, which means that my schedule is very flexible! (It also means I always welcome study breaks to hang out with your furry friends!) I am available mornings, afternoons, and evenings, including during weekdays and normal business hours. Because I have two cats of my own, I am not able to offer services in my own home at this time. I offer in-home care and dog walking, and am happy to learn from you where your dog most likes to go for walks! I do have a car, and am able to transport pets to walking trails or dog parks if desired, but would only do so with your prior permission.

“I am so grateful I found Kelly on Rover! She was available on Thanksgiving and I was so lucky to book her when I did. She contacted me right away to set up a time to meet me and my pup and I knew immediately she'd be great. She was super communicative, so easy going and just so sweet! We will 100% use Kelly for dog walking in the future!”

About: I'm a very caring animal lover and have been house and dog sitting for years. I've had my dog since she was a puppy so I have the experience to care for dogs of all ages. My dog is extremely active so I dont have any problem keeping up with pets of any activity level. I've been to training with my dog and am able to use the skills I've learned with my dog to any pet. I've dog sat for multiple dogs at once with different health issues and dietary restrictions. I'm very meticulous when it comes to your pet's health including medication regimens and special dietary needs. I treat all animals as if they were my own. My main goal while caring for your pet is to keep your pet safe, happy and healthy. I work Mon-Fri 9-5pm so I only pet sit on the weekends to ensure your furry baby gets all the walks, playtime and attention they deserve. My goal is to provide your pet with the same enviroment they would recieve at home. We are away from main roads and have access to a fenced dog park.

Regina did a great job with a drop in visit for my diva Cavalier! She even took the initiative to come to my house before the booking to review my protocol and preferences. The booking went smoothly today and I’ve already scheduled Regina for two more bookings next week. Highly recommend!
It was a pleasure to have Nicholas take care of our dog, Axle. During our leave, he visited Axle at home, played with him and walked him daily. Nicholas is very professional and respectful. We definitely recommend him and look forward to having him watch Axle again in the future.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
