About: I’ve taken care of pets pretty much my whole life! I’ve owned horses for 10 years, dogs all my life, and I have had to grow up taking on responsibilities to care for them. I'm originally from Nebraska and I have just moved back after living in South Carolina for the last few years. I have always grown up with pets and helping my family take care of dogs and small animals. I have 3 very spoiled pets of my own, 1 cats Baker & Bo and my dog Bernie. Since then I’ve been pet sitting for several families. When I was in high school I interned at a veterinary clinic and also trained my parents black lab to do dog therapy at our local nursing home. I went to college to be a Veterinarian but decided to work with cancer patients instead. My love for animals never went away and I absolutely love caring for and being around them. I am an active person outside of work so I love walks with my dog whenever we can squeeze one in, usually in the morning. About: Even in childhood, I've loved animals. I decided when I was very young that I wanted to make a career out of rescuing abused, disabled, and neglected animals who need help; I still think about this dream today, at 20 years old. For all my life, I've had a dog, cat, or critter to come home to. I'm willing and able to go on walks, though prefer not to walk too much on days above 90 degrees Fahrenheit or below 30. As far as I'm concerned, I'm willing and able to do anything your animal may need. I care about every animal companion, and will do my best to make their lives as enjoyable as possible. I would even be willing to try caring for an animal that may act somewhat aggressive, as long as they don't have a history of serious injuries, seeing as I'm not trained to defuse an attitude such as that yet. I am also, of course, willing to care for your home through small time chores as long as I am there. Right now, I'm a sandwich slinger at Subway. Usually I only get morning shifts which are 3 hours on average, 6 hours tops. I would let you know if I'm going to be away for longer! Otherwise, I try not to leave my wards for more than 4-5 hours just out of caution. I generally prefer to petsit outside my home, since our pets aren't always awesome with new friends... but I'm always willing to come to your place, granted we (of course) meet beforehand so I can get a lay of the land and your pets can assess me. About: Hello my name is Kirstin. I currently live in Lincoln NE. I have always loved animals no matter the species. I had previously work at a veterinarian office, as a kennel attendant and receptionist, so I'm not afraid of giving medication. I love to learn about new animals and any fun facts about them. I am also able and comfortable to give medication. I currently volunteer at what is called The Cat House. So I love caring for animals. I have been pet sitting for around 4 years for cats and dogs, but I'm willing to learn what it takes for other animals. I am comfortable with small and large animals and even ones that might be aggressive. I know that if an animal attacks me there was probably something I did to agitate them it usually is never the animal's fault. I currently work part-time, anywhere from 1:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. weekdays, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. all week, or 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays. All of this does depend on my part-time scheduling. If you have any questions on how I will care for your pet, don't hesitate to shoot me a question. I usually watch the dogs when I let them out into the yard unless the owner has stated otherwise. I carefully measure out the food given. Depending on the weather and usually will wipe dogs paws when they come inside. For any pets that require it, I always make sure to play with them to get physical energy out and to give them mental stimulation.
