“Well, today is Shawn’s last day with; I don’t know who is going to miss him more… me or Max! It was such a relief to know that Max was being well cared for while I worked late these past few weeks. Shawn is amazing and a truly conscientious individual. I know Max appreciated having him care for him. I am going on vacation in June and will have Shawn care for Max if he is available on my date. Thank you Shawn, for being the wonderful man you are! See you soon! Max and Diane”

I’ve successfully cared for up to 8 dogs at the same time, managing different energy levels, routines, and personalities while making sure each dog gets the attention and care they need. I’m available on weekdays from 6am–9am for morning walks and check-ins, and again from 7pm–10pm for evening care. focus on creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for every pet. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, routines, and any specific needs. I make sure dogs are supervised, secure on walks, and never put in unsafe situations. I also have experience walking dogs while volunteering at a humane society, where I’ve worked with all kinds of dogs with different temperaments and energy levels. In a client’s home, I respect the space and keep everything clean and consistent so pets feel relaxed and at home. I also provide updates so owners feel confident their pet is in good hands.

“This was Jason's first drop-in visit with our two Great Pyrenees dogs and our Maine Coon cat. The boys met Jason at his meet-and-greet visit about a week in advance and the boys loved him from the moment he walked through the door. He's very comfortable with our big boys (115 pounds and 140 pounds!). Jason, overall, is fantastic-- professional, thoughtful, conscientious, and just a great guy. He followed all of our instructions to the last detail. We already have more days booked with him. It's such an enormous relief to find him so the boys can stay home together rather than staying at the kennel while we go out of town. Highly recommend him!”

I am very cautious when taking care of dog before walking them I will check if their collar or harness it tightly secured (not too tight) so they won’t slip away.

Christie is simply the best! My kitty had an eye problem while I was away and Christie expertly troubleshooted it with such care and compassion. She truly loves animals and is very knowledgable. We are so fortunate to be in touch with her - we’ve used other sitters when Christie is not available but there is no comparison. 100% recommend!

Aaliyah is fantastic and such a professional. She is polite and courteous and clearly loves dogs. She even tackles challenges like my forgetting to leave the key out for her! She handled it so beautifully and was so patient and helpful! Many thanks Aaliyah and thank you Rover!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
