“I booked with Taylor to watch my dog for a couple hours one morning. He has separation anxiety. She understands the needs for a dog with SA and was able to help manage his nerves while we were gone for some errands.”

“Amanda was great, we went and did a visit. The visit went very well and her dog was very friendly and has a large backyard to run in. Amanda was very informative about the daycare that is provided and she would send videos during the day if you wanted.”

About: Hello there! I'm Hailey, and dogs hold a special place in my heart. Throughout my life, I have been fortunate to have dogs as constant companions, and now I'm eager to utilize my expertise in handling them. With a calm and laid-back demeanor, I prioritize building trust with your furry friends, hoping to win their affection along the way. Working from home grants me the flexibility to be there for your pups and other animals whenever they need me. Equipped with experience from puppy training classes, I'm confident in my ability to handle even the most energetic puppies. Additionally, I am trained in dog CPR, ensuring the safety of your beloved pets. As a former collegiate softball player, I maintain excellent physical fitness, enabling me to keep up with your dogs throughout the day effortlessly. If you have any further inquiries, please don't hesitate to contact me. As someone who works from home, pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily routine. With the flexibility of my schedule, I have the privilege of being available for your pets throughout the day. This means I can provide them with the attention, care, and companionship they need. Whether it's feeding, exercise, playtime, or administering any necessary medications, I can be there to tend to their needs promptly. Additionally, I understand the importance of maintaining a consistent routine for pets, so I ensure that their feeding and exercise schedules align with their usual habits. Rest assured, your furry companions will receive dedicated care and supervision, as I am always present and ready to meet their needs. The way I care for pets in my home or a client's home depends on the specific service being provided. Here are a few scenarios: In the client's home: Pet Sitting: When providing pet sitting services at a client's home, I make sure to replicate the pet's daily routine as closely as possible. This includes feeding them according to their usual schedule, providing fresh water, cleaning litter boxes, taking dogs for walks, and engaging in playtime or exercise based on their specific needs. I also offer companionship and affection to help reduce any separation anxiety they may experience. Drop-in Visits: During drop-in visits, I visit the client's home at scheduled times to check on their pets. I ensure they have food and water, clean litter boxes, let dogs out for bathroom breaks, and spend quality time with them, offering play and affection. Dog Walking: For dog walking services, I take the dogs on stimulating walks to provide exercise, mental stimulation, and an opportunity for bathroom breaks. I follow any instructions regarding route preferences, leash handling, or specific behavioral considerations. Regardless of the service provided, the well-being, safety, and happiness of the pets are my top priorities. I strive to create a comfortable and nurturing environment, maintain their regular routines, and shower them with love and attention, just as their owners would.
“Mackenzie was amazing, she took my booking last minute for my pup. Her dogs got along incredibly with mine. She will be who I move forward with, should I need someone to watch my pup. Highly recommend!”

“I cannot recommend Lona & Alan enough! They took such amazing care of my dogs. From the daily updates and photos to their attentive care, I felt completely at ease knowing they were in great hands. I will definitely be booking with them again in the future!”

About: While this is my start of professional dog sitting, I’ve been watching family and friends’ pets for many years. I even fostered a dog with behavioral issues a couple of years ago. My dog is my whole world and any pet in my care gets the same attention. I WFH most days, going into the office for a half a day every Wednesday and 3 full days at the beginning of the month. My job doesn’t require me to be glued to my computer so I can be very flexible with my schedule most days. I have a fenced in backyard with plenty of space to runaround. For wet or cold days, I have a mostly empty finished basement for playing. For dogs that want daily walks, I live in a safe neighborhood where I walk my own dog multiple times a day.
“James was amazing with Nikko, he care for him 5 days a week for 2 weeks while I was at work, he would send updates with pictures throughout the day which I appreciated. Definitely will book James again.”

“Our first experience using the Rover app and Laney were exceptional. We felt very comfortable with leaving our dog and he seemed very relaxed and at home with her! I would recommend using her again!!”

“Melissa was fantastic!! Our boy Lando had a great time. When we dropped him off we could tell he would be in good hands. Melissa was even able to keep Lando a little while longer than originally planned on short notice. We would absolutely trust her to watch Lando again!!”

About: I have had pets all my life from dogs and cats to gerbils, hamsters and fish. Even as a young child I was primarily responsible for most of the routine daily pet care. I'm a trained CNA with applicable caregiving skills. I also have extensive experience as a shelter volunteer having walked the dog and played with them as well as socializing the cats. I'm currently self employed as a home care aide and wish to take care of animals in between assignments or during days off. I do not have any responsibilities that would interfere with me taking care of your fur babies. I do not have a fenced in yard but I do have a yard stake. I live in a townhouse with an open grass backyard. I regularly take my dog to The Liberty, MO Stockdale dog park and can take yours there too if that's your preference. If you wish I can walk your dog as many times per day as you prefer. My neighborhood has paved sidewalks and walking paths that I routinely use to walk my dog daily. I have one cat and one dog and each get along with other cats and dogs very well but should there be any unforeseen issue, I can put your pet in my spare bedroom. I also own a wire dog crate for large dogs. I can crate your pet in your home or my home if you wish me to. I will take care of him or her in whichever way you prefer. I do not crate my dog but I did as a puppy to facilitate his potty training. My dog sleeps with me at night as does my cat sometimes. Both are friendly and well socialized but again, I can put either in a spare room or your pet if necessary. Both my pets are up to date on their vaccinations and they get a monthly pill for flea and tick prevention. I can do everything from long or short walks, taking them outside for potty breaks, administering food or medicine, playtime, etc.
About: I’ve had yorkie’s, dobie’s, lab’s, shepherd’s and schnauzer’s. My little Stevie passed away in April after 13 years together. She can’t be replaced so I’m looking to fill the void by caring for others while my heart mends. I have a lot of free time without a set schedule so there is always time to snuggle and play and go for walks together. I have a 4’ tall fenced yard with neighbors that have dogs too. I stay outside with the dogs and do not leave them alone. Dogs will have the run of my house and are allowed on the furniture and the beds too.
About: Grew up with dogs. Had a cat. Love animals. Babysit my daughter’s dogs. Don’t have any of my own animals right now, so I can take care of other people‘s dogs or cats! I’m available all days from morning till three in the afternoon or for overnights and boarding . I can be flexible with my schedule because I am retired. I love walking dogs. I watch my daughter’s dogs quite a bit. We’ll go on walks. Have a big back yard so they can run and play in the backyard. They can sit in my lap in the house, we can play with their toys! I have a fenced backyard. I live on a quiet street. I enjoy going on walks with dogs. I don’t have any animals right now so I can take care of other people’s dogs. I used to have two dogs and a cat. They all lived to old age.
“Max had a good time at Brent’s house. It was his first time there and he seemed to really connect! Brent sent pictures throughout the day and Max had a good time. Will definitely take him there again!”

About: My husband and I have experience in caring for puppies and senior dogs with medical needs. We got both of our dogs as puppies and we have experience in all types of dogs and age. We understand how to handle tense situations when it comes to introducing animals to new animals and humans. All pets are supervised during meal time to be sure feeding goes smoothly. I have slow feeding bowls as well. My husband and I both work from home. Day starts at 7 am with potty breaks. Breakfast is served around 8 am followed by a treat. I always make sure we spend at least an hour outside everyday on top of 15 min potty breaks every 3-5 hours. It’s important to dedicate some play time with the dogs. Helps us too! I have a few dog bed, a large play pen, lots of toys, and partial fence back yard. Dogs are free to roam inside and outside while being supervised. I’ll make sure your dog eye boogers and mouth are wiped. I take a lot of pictures and videos so you’ll be receiving a lot of follow up. Your dogs will be treated like my own!
“Stephanie was a phenomenal host. My dog came home restful, relaxed, and happy. She is easy to work with and communicate with, she is always on time, and she sent me some very cute pictures of my dog during the day, which put my mind at ease. I would highly recommend her, and I would trust her with my little dog any time.”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Pleasant Valley commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
