NorazarkWalworth, NY

My husband, daughter and I all love dogs. I grew up with dogs and horses and now I spend my time on our small farm with a lot of animals, from cows and horses to pigs and Guineafowl -- and, of course, dogs!

I have recently retired. I am home most of the day with Mass and grocery shopping the exception. Dogs are alone for less than 3 hours.

I have been working with the Humane Society of Wayne County for more than 20 years. We have fostered dogs of various breeds and with medical and social needs throughout the years. I have also been a foster parent for needy and dogs with medical conditions through my work at the Humane Society and we’ve also handled various breed rescues. We thoroughly enjoy taking care of different dogs in our home as our special guests.

If your pup stays with us, they’ll be on a 20-acre farm that has a large yard on is located on a quiet country road. We take frequent walks on the farm throughout the day and in the evening before bedtime. Our dogs get frequent treats during the day and when we have guests they are treated the same as our own dogs. Our dogs love other pups, but we do monitor the dogs closely and allow the ones that get along well to play together. Dogs are like people and some just don't care to socialize with others, which we understand and accommodate for, but they all get walks together and we’ve found that every dog seems to enjoy being part of the pack.

Throughout your pup’s stay I’ll send photos and let you know how your dog is doing so that you know they are being well cared for while you are away. My family and I are always excited to meet a new dog -- it’s a luxury I’m afforded through working with Rover.

We’ll tire out your pup!Rochester, NY

To say that we love dogs is a bit of an understatement. Big or small, old or young, we’ve both been around dogs our whole lives. We’ve raised puppies, tended to elderly dogs, and have experience with dogs with special needs, medical concerns, and high energy. Our Golden Retriever Muenster is the light of our lives, and when we stay with your pets you can rest assured that they’ll have lots of pets and belly rubs, all the toys and walks they can handle, and friends for life! When we housesit, we keep your pets’ routines (including kitties and all other critters) as close to normal as possible, so it’s almost like you never left! We will also tend to the home in order to keep things running smoothly while you're away (watering plants, taking out trash, etc.). We offer dog walking and drop-in visits too! Choose us to care of your best friends and you'll come home to them happy and exhausted - we guarantee it!

Big Fenced-in Yard & Doggie Suite!Rochester, NY

I, Taylor, have been an animal lover my whole life. Originally I wanted to work with animals as a career but my life took a different turn. So now I am trying to get back into that part of me that wants to do something for our furry friends. Being a Rover sitter doesn't even feel like work and that's the best part. I have so much fun and feel blessed to have met each and every dog that gets to stay with me.

My family has had dogs my entire life but I took a real role starting around age ten. I have had my own personal dog since 2015, Lily. She has anxiety issues so I am willing to work with any dog with special arrangements, considering I deal with it myself. Just recently we added Gryffin to our family. He is a young Dalmatian and he is full of energy. One of the main reasons for getting Gryffin was to support his sister and her anxiety, and he has done amazing. He has been teaching his sister to trust other animals and be more adventurous. It is a pretty wonderful blessing. I have been to multiple dog training classes with my dogs so I know consistency and patience is key. I have learned to understand dog behavior since taking these classes. I know what is good verses bad and how to address the situations. With Lily's anxiety I have done a lot of private lessons and understand dogs' social cues and behaviors. I am willing to work with any dog to help them adjust to their weekend away.

Gryffin basically runs my Rover business because he enjoys greeting the new guests, showing them around, and keeps them entertained for hours! My lovely assistant for this business adventure is my fiancé Zack. He is an amazing support and helps out with anything I need assistance with. I couldn't do this without my boys.

Along with Rover, Zack and I also foster dog for the local rescue Operation Freedom Ride. We have been opening up our home to foster dogs since June 2019 and are absolutely loving it. Our favorite story to tell is of Grayson and Dawson, the boys in our profile picture. They are Pitbull Mix puppies that came to OFR from Georgia with severe mange, to the point they had no fur on their bodies, and two types of parasites. Zack and I spent a month of our lives caring for them while they were in our home under quarantine. They required four types of medication, nightly ointment, and weekly medicated baths. As you can see from the photo, they are now healthy, beautiful boys who have been adopted out to forever homes. From time to time, Dawson comes and stays with us for a night or two as a Rover client now.

Fun facts about me:

• I have volunteered as a dog walker for the Villalobos Rescue Center in New Orleans, LA. That is the rescue center on Animal Planet's Pitbulls and Parolees.

• On March 6, 2019 our Rover business was highlighted in a Spectrum News video about local pet sitting businesses through Rover.com.

• On February 20, 2020 Taylor was interviewed by a local blog, The Savvy Couple, on the success of their Rover business.

Camp Cloe Resort (Rochester, NY)East Irondequoit, Rochester, NY

I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician and been taking care of pets for 19 years now. I work part time at the animal hospital so I can continue to learn and still be a part of my passion for helping animals. I also specialize in dogs with anxiety issues. I am a life long friend for you and your fur baby. Camp Cloe started with watching diabetics from my animal hospital and has grown to any dog that needs a vacation. To anyone that is new to Camp Cloe, I like to do meet and greets before accepting any new dogs if at all possible. It is my job to make sure your pup is in safe hands and I want them and you to have the best experience as possible. I have made exceptions for people that are coming from out of state. I try and talk on the phone or computer chat so I can get a feel for you and your pet. I try and help my clients any way I can, babysitting, medical advice, and general questions about what you can do to help as your pet gets older. I only want the best for them. : ) My backyard is fully fenced in and the inside is one level for the pups that can't get up and down stairs well. My house is very clean and dog friendly. The dogs can sleep where they want, whether in bed with me, on the couch, or on their bed next to me. I can also do Doggie day care certain days during the week in the summer time starting June!!! I'm close to the bay for those last minute bookings to go on a boat ride with friends. All the dogs love my back yard and camp fires we have. My backyard is literally a resort for dogs and even their owners ask if they can stay too for a weekend here! I also have a projector so we can all watch movies outside now! I love it and the dogs play or sit and watch the movie with me. My pups were rescues at one point and they do very well with other rescue and anxiety dogs. I must say I'm proud to have a very good pack because they are the ones to really tell them that they are in a happy and safe place. They really know how to make all their furry friends feel welcome and part of my family. This is truly a resort for them and my daily stress reliever! : )

I love them like they are my own!Fairport, NY

I am a lifelong animal lover who has been pet sitting for people in their homes for many years. I specialize in geriatric and special needs animal care which includes administering shots and medications. Post surgical animals are also welcome and I am able to transport pets in need to doctor appointments while you are away for an extra charge. I also deal with behavioral problems excluding aggressive tendencies towards any pet in my home. I am a volunteer at the local animal shelter where I do foster care for animals who are awaiting their forever homes. People have called me the animal whisperer because I have a way of making all animals feel comfortable. I treat all animals in my care with love and respect. I look forward to caring for your furry babies.

the peaceful pack in Rochester, NYSwillburg, rochester, NY

I will treat your dog with love and kindness and yet be careful to continue good training behaviors. I do offer discounted rates for extended stays. ;-) Please contact me for more information. I work from home, so will give your pup lots of personalized attention and love. Many friends have told me countless times that I should start a dog training business, remarking on how comfortable, calm and happy their dogs have been while in my care.

While with me, your pup will receive at least three walks a day, outside and supervised time in the fenced back yard, and will get to meet my chickens (which have their own safe, dog proof enclosure).

My own dog is pretty smart in dealing with a variety of temperaments. She is calm and quiet; yet also playful for those guest pups needing an energy release.

I have small, medium and large dog crates available, if you feel your pup needs to be crated for any reason. Otherwise, they will be free to roam in my house during their entire stay, as does my own. ;-)

I keep my home clean and free of toxic chemicals and scents. I use chemical-free cleaning products to ensure your pup a safe and healthy stay.

Prices can be adjusted for extended stays ($36/night), and multiple dog families ($28/night for the each additional dog).

Why I love dog sitting:

I've had dogs all my life and have owned and cared independently for my own dogs for at least 25 years. I have one dog now, but have had two dogs together for over 10 years. I am very comfortable caring for multiple dogs in one home. Friends that have had me watch their dogs and see me work with my own dogs are always amazed how well I communicate with them, and them with me. So, that makes me tend to think that I can perceive what a dog is needing and help it be happy. ;-)

Meet my pets:

I do have chickens in the backyard, but they are 100% separate and safe from the dogs. No worries, there! I have a very personable calico cat. She is very friendly with the pups, even quite playful. I'd go as far to say she is the actual leader of my peaceful pack. ;-)

About my yard:

I have a completely fenced back yard. It is a pretty good size for a home in the city. I have chickens that run in a separate area of the backyard. There is absolutely no chance the dogs and chickens interact. Most of the yard has grass. The only little bit that doesn't is the chickens' yard. Chickens annihilate everything green. ;-)

My experience administering medication:

Yes, I am comfortable giving both pills and injections. I have lots of experience with elderly dogs. My last pup, Ramona, was 16.5 years old when we finally had to say goodbye.

Doggy Daycare!Webster, NY

Hello! My name is Maile and I run a dog daycare and boarding facility in Webster. I have always loved all dogs and I love spending everyday giving them the love and care they need.

During your dogs stay they will be able to play with the other daycare/boarding dogs in the fenced in yard and the indoor play areas in my facility. The dogs do take a 2 hour rest in their crates so they can come out and play some more!

I used to work at Eastridge Animal hospital so I do have experience giving medication if necessary and I also can take senior dogs and separate them from the crazy puppies if needed!

I would love to set up a meet and greet with you before your dog comes to stay to make sure they get along with the other dogs and be able to meet them.

Your dog will always come home happy and tired after their stay!

Home away from HomeOntario, NY

I am a lover of all dogs! You can count on me for all your pet sitting needs. I am available for daily scheduled visits/walks, at your home, as well as overnight dog sitting in my home. I'm also available for in your home care for cats, birds, fish, etc. (no snakes or spiders, sorry). You can feel confident and have peace of mind while you're away that your loved ones will be well cared for. I have been dog-sitting for friends and family for 10+ years, and have enjoyed every minute of it!

While visiting my home, your dog will be in a safe loving environment, and will enjoy a fenced in back yard with lots of room to run and play, will be free to roam the house as they would do at home. Will have a companion, our dog Mia (Yellow Lab) who is very well behaved and gets along with all dogs. She's always excited to meet new friends! She is getting older, and her patience isn't as good as it could be when it comes to younger puppies, and/or dogs who like to jump and play rough. Behavior is monitored during a stay, and we can usually determine during the meet and greet, how things are going to go. There are lots of toys to choose from (inside and outside), which Mia doesn't mind sharing.

I live in a quiet neighborhood in the village of Ontario, making it easy for walks around the block. There is also a near by park for nature walks.

I look forward to getting to know you and your pet! See my calendar for availability and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

** All pickups (daycare and overnight guests) must be by 5pm. Overnight guests will be charged a $20 late pickup fee for pickups after 5pm. Special arrangements can be made for daycare guests, if discussed beforehand.**

Why I love dog sitting

I have been a dog lover since childhood. I've always had a very good bond with all the dogs I've had in my life. I find it easy to be able to give love to just about every dog!

Meet my pets

In addition to our dog Mia, we have one cat, Maxwell. He doesn't prefer to have dogs as guests in our home, so he spends most of his time upstairs. The upstairs is his domain and he protects it. Therefore, we don't let our guests upstairs in our home.

About my yard

Our backyard is separated into two parts, the first part is directly below the deck and is fenced (completely enclosed), and the rest is open with fences on both sides separating my yard from my neighbors. I live in a quiet neighborhood in the village of Ontario, and have about 1/3 of an acre of doggie playground. It is flat ground with a few flower gardens and trees.

My experience administering medication

I'm comfortable administering medication. I will ask questions at the time of the meet and greet.
