“When I met Sir, I found him to be courteous, kind and attentive. He asked several questions about our pets including their needs, likes and dislikes. He interacted with them and they seemed very comfortable in his company. During his house sitting we found him to be dependable and communicative. We received several texts and pictures letting us know how things were going and what is plans were that day. Our Tippy requires medicine application twice daily and Sir made sure to let us know his medication had been given. His interactions and attention to our pets was top notch! He cleaned before he left. We found Sir to be responsible, trustworthy, and his care of our pets gave us great peace of mind. We will use his services again in September and highly recommend him to care for your beloved pets.”

“We felt at ease with leaving Zahira with our anxious boy. She got here early to meet him and to know about the house. She was professional and provided great care for Zorro. Extremely happy and Zorro loved her. Thank you so much.”

“Maura did an amazing job housesitting our dog and two cats. She was extremely responsive before and during our stay. She took great care of not only our pets, but our home while we were away and that was very much appreciated. She took some adorable pictures of the furbabies and left them for us when we got home, along with a thoughtful note for our family. We would highly recommend Maura and use her again for her housesitting/petsitting service. Thanks for helping us enjoy our time away!”

“Jess was amazing! She sent us photo and video updates throughout the whole weekend keeping us at ease. She was so sweet and attentive, and even came over a few days before to meet the pups. We will definitely be booking with Jess again in the future!”

“One of the most important things when our family goes away is making sure we have a caring, responsible sitter for our dog, Bucky. Alyssa is amazing! We can go away and be certain that Bucky will be loved and cared for! We highly recommend her!❤️”

“Victoria was excellent to our cats. She gave them all the time and attention they needed while we were gone and despite them not generally being warm to strangers she got one of cats to pet her which is huge for a stranger to come in and do.”

“Morgan was a great pet sitter. My dog can be very shy and warmed up to her quickly. She was very attentive and helpful. My pets were well cared for by her, and I will definitely use her services again when I need an overnight sitter.”

“Alyssa is very responsible and as importantly, she loves my Sadie. She takes great care of her and make sure she gives her lots of time, walks and cuddles! She’s very good with a senior dog who needs medication as well My house is in great order when I come home and I really appreciate that too!”

About: Starting from the age of 10 my family has had many animals. Not only am I used to taking care of my own pets but I have farm sat as well. Being on a farm I became used to dogs of all breeds and sizes, ranging from english mastiffs over 200 pounds to small terriers no more than 20 pounds. Dogs with a wide variety of needs from primarily living outside to dogs that have their own couches in the house! Having my own dogs I am used to taking multiple dogs on walks at once and extremely used to dogs that have a certain way of doing things and want to respect how everyones dogs are because I want people to respect my dogs quirkiness as well. I am currently working full time but I do not work on weekends and have off in the summers. If I am booked I would ensure to fit pet care in as a priority in my routine. As someone who has had dogs almost my whole life I understand the importance of having a reliable person watching after my pet. In your home I would abide by your homes guidelines for the pet. If you would like them to spend time outside I would ensure that they are spending their time outside depending on the weather if that is their preference. My dogs are personally couch potatoes and only go outside if I make them or they have an emergency. I have also watched dogs that I let them outside in the morning and do not let them back in until the evening when it is time to feed them.
“Skye was responsive, attentive, took care of our pets like they are her own. Communication was top notch. Highly recommend and will most definitely being hiring Skye in the future.”

“Christina is wonderful to our pups. She is very friendly and did everything we asked. She is also very responsive and accommodating. Our pups and house is very well taken. Will use Christina in the future!”

“We booked Devon for almost two weeks while we were away on vacation. She continuously sent us updates and photos of our at home petting zoo. She is so good about communication and detail. This helped us ease our nerves of leaving them behind for so long. Our dogs seemed to be truly loved and cared for. We highly recommend her!”

“Maddy was an amazing house sitter for our boy Oliver. We cannnot recommend her enough. She was clean and kept us updated on Oliver while we were away. She will be our go too from now on!”

About: I've loved taking care of dogs of all kinds of my own and friends and family from a young age! Currently I have a two at home and know how much of a part of the family they are. My goal is to meet your needs for your pups and keep them comfortable when you need to be away from home! I am currently a student and only working part time so have plenty of time in the mornings and late afternoon/evening to care for and check in on your pets! I am very open and flexible to you and your pets needs! Comfortable with crating your pup if needed or bringing them out for walks. My goal is to make sure they are well cared for and comfortable based on your routine!
“Gregory is absolutely great with my pup. Spent lots of time to give my boy cuddles, took him to his play group and reliable. I have rebooked him a couple times since he's been great.”

“My husband and I would 100% trust our dog with David. We have an anxious pup and was worried about strangers meeting him but from the first meet, our dog was very comfortable with David. He gave punctual updates while we were gone and the visit went smoothly. When my husband and I came back home, we found a very nice handwritten card, chocolates, and even a dog toy from David! A very nice gesture and the kind of generous person we would invite back to our home to care for our pup. Thanks for your help David!!”

About: I have had a wide range of experience caring for a variety of pets ever since I was a young child. I have taken care of dogs and cats for over a decade. Your pet will have all the attention and care they need during their time with me or in my home. I work Monday to Friday with weekends off. I am able to care for them before and right after work, with family home during the day as well. I care for pets by feeding them their proper diet, playing with them/making them feel welcome, making sure their bathroom needs are met, and updating the owners.
“Sam was a wonderful sitter for both the house and my animals! She sent me constant updates with photos and just made me feel tremendously at ease! She really takes great pride in the job she does caring for our animals and appreciated that so much. Will definitely be booking her again and encourage anyone to do the same!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pine Valley
Thanks Alyssa for taking care of my babies. I always feel comfortable traveling when she is with them. My home was tidy after her stay, and most of all my girls were happy and content. Merry Christmas and a very happy new year! Will stay in touch for my next adventure!❤️💚

We decided to leave our 10 year old Dobie at home this time during our vacation. We missed him sooo much as well as our cat but knew they were both in excellent care and company with Katia. Katia kept us informed daily with their activities and sent pictures as well 🐈🐾. When we decide on another trip we would gladly book Katia .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pine Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pine Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pine Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pine Valley. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
