“When I met Sir, I found him to be courteous, kind and attentive. He asked several questions about our pets including their needs, likes and dislikes. He interacted with them and they seemed very comfortable in his company. During his house sitting we found him to be dependable and communicative. We received several texts and pictures letting us know how things were going and what is plans were that day. Our Tippy requires medicine application twice daily and Sir made sure to let us know his medication had been given. His interactions and attention to our pets was top notch! He cleaned before he left. We found Sir to be responsible, trustworthy, and his care of our pets gave us great peace of mind. We will use his services again in September and highly recommend him to care for your beloved pets.”

“We felt at ease with leaving Zahira with our anxious boy. She got here early to meet him and to know about the house. She was professional and provided great care for Zorro. Extremely happy and Zorro loved her. Thank you so much.”

“One of the most important things when our family goes away is making sure we have a caring, responsible sitter for our dog, Bucky. Alyssa is amazing! We can go away and be certain that Bucky will be loved and cared for! We highly recommend her!❤️”

“Gregory was excellent with our Husky boy, Buddy! He stayed with him as asked and played in the backyard. He even did training exercises with him to keep him mentally stimulated. We will definitely use Gregory again!”

My schedule can easily accommodate the needs and preferences of your pup, as I am home full time. I can provide frequent potty breaks and walks for your fur baby, as needed. “Christina agreed to watch our 15-week-old puppy on fairly short notice, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the initial meet and greet through the day of house sitting, she was very professional, always on time, and our puppy gravitated to her immediately. This was our first time leaving the puppy since bringing her home a month and a half ago, and Christina made it so much easier to go out and enjoy ourselves without worrying. She sent a few thoughtful updates during the visit, including pictures, and it was clear they were both enjoying their time together. I also appreciated that she was very mindful of why I was out of the house and timed her updates so they wouldn’t interfere. I cannot recommend her enough and would not hesitate to trust her with our pup in the future.”

“Katie was an excellent dog sitter! She was communicative, thoughtful, and made sure that my anxious pup maintained her routine - it really felt like a seamless continuation of her life. Looking forward to working with Katie again in the future!”

“Kiara did a wonderful job caring for my dog and cat last weekend, keeping them on a good feeding and walking schedule, hanging out with them, and providing medicine to my cat. She was responsive in a very timely manner, keeping me posted on how things were going throughout the weekend, with texts ad photos. My house was in perfect shape when I got home and my dog and cat were happy -- the best evidence that they had been well cared for and completely at ease with their sitter. Thanks, Kiara!!”

About: I’ve grown up with many pets from the age of two. But since I was probably 13 I’ve been pet sitting for family friends, family members, and neighbors. I currently have 3 dogs, a cat, and a rabbit. And I am always learning about animals and how to best care for them. I am currently working part-time. But my job is very flexible. I don’t have a specific set of days that I have to work- it will be sporadically in the week. But I am always able to discuss scheduling. My three dogs have a big fenced in yard and get lots of exercise. Sometimes we go to the dog park for some socialization. At my clients homes, I walk as many times as they need, feeding, and medications (if there are any). For cats, I will clean litter, feed, do medications as needed as well, and playing if they like that!
“Ashiera was amazing! She sent pictures and updates everyday. Honey Mochi is very shy but Ashiera was patient with her and got her to warm up eventually. I will definitely be working with Ashiera again!”

“I needed a sitter with short notice and David was able and willing to come meet my 3 dogs within hours of contacting him. He was kind and gentle with my boys and knew how to approach one of them who is fearful. He listened carefully to my instructions and asked when something wasn’t clear. I felt comfortable leaving my dogs with him when we met the same day he stayed overnight. He stayed longer when we were going to be home later which I appreciated. When we got back, he left a kind note and some chocolates for us. I would hire David again!”

“Victoria was excellent to our cats. She gave them all the time and attention they needed while we were gone and despite them not generally being warm to strangers she got one of cats to pet her which is huge for a stranger to come in and do.”

Whether it’s house sitting, walking/feeding the dog, letting him/her out to play, I look forward to caring for your pup! Trust is huge when it comes to your pet and I am flexible to support all needs with your dog while you are away/busy. You can trust that your dog is in good hands with me! I am good at following directions and will be able to keep up with normal routines and procedures that your dog is used to so that you are comfortable as well as them.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hi-Nella
Dayna was amazing with our 1 year old golden doodle. Would highly recommend and would definitely use again. We were really nervous to leave him for the first time, but Dayna sent photos and videos as well as providing up dates on his eating. She went above and beyond for Alfie!

Sarah is great. I needed an in home sitter last minute and she was very accurate to that. My dog can be very anxious and shy around new people, but he warmed up to them very quickly during the meet and greet. Next time I need an in home pet sitter I will use Sarah again.

Lauren was very easy to work with from our first conversation. She took notes and followed our instructions well. Lauren also sent updates through out her stay with Marlee, which I appreciate so much! I am happy to say we have found a house sitter for Marlee going forward when we go away. Our home was respected and taken care of. I would absolutely recommend Lauren if you are looking for a pleasant, responsible person to care for your pets!
Thanks Alyssa for taking care of my babies. I always feel comfortable traveling when she is with them. My home was tidy after her stay, and most of all my girls were happy and content. Merry Christmas and a very happy new year! Will stay in touch for my next adventure!❤️💚

Caitlin, was amazing with my shy pup, Finn, and my cat, Murph! Finn is usually scared of his own shadow, but she was so patient and gentle that he warmed up quickly. I loved all the photo updates — it gave me such peace of mind seeing both of them happy and relaxed. So grateful to have found someone who cares for them the way I do! Highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Hi-Nella on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 5,100 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hi-Nella. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hi-Nella walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hi-Nella maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hi-Nella choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hi-Nella. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
