“We had such a great experience with our dog sitter! They were reliable, caring, and kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us total peace of mind. Our dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved. We would absolutely book again and highly recommend!”

“Thank you John and Michelle for watching our Havanese. This was the first time shes been watched outside of family. Seems she had great time making new friends. Thank you again for taking such good care of our girl.”

“Stephanie was great - we did a meet and greet and then had our kiddos with her for the weekend. They came back happy and tired from all the fun. She was communicative and super friendly. Will absolutely book her again. Thanks Stephanie!”
“David and Phyllis were wonderful in accommodating our unique situation and went above and beyond to make sure Cassie felt comfortable in their home. Communication was excellent—not only with us but also with our friend who had been caring for Cassie during the month. They kept us well informed and made sure we received updates on how Cassie was doing, which gave us great peace of mind. We truly appreciated their kindness, flexibility, and the loving care they gave Cassie.”

“We are so happy we found Brineydi to care for our pups. She is very sweet, asks questions about our pets and has great communication. She offers update thru photos and messages to let us know how things are going. I highly recommend her services and will use her services in the future.”

“Christine and her husband are wonderful people. I had no doubt my dog was in good hands when I dropped her off. She communicated with me throughout my dog’s stay and responded quickly. She also sent me pictures and videos daily. Her husband even helped me bring the crate and bag to my car when I picked my dog up seeing that I was by myself and would have a hard time carrying it all. Very nice people :)”

“5 stars all the way. Our Gunner is old and has terrible anxiety when left alone. Danielle truly went out of her way to make him feel comfortable. She sent us daily pictures and updates which was so appreciated. He looked so comfortable and happy. I would highly recommend Danielle 100%.”

“We had such a great experience with Hilary, Sam, and the kids. They were so sweet and so good at keeping us posted about how everything was going and about sending pics. Our best experience on Rover. We highly recommend them. 😀👍😀”

About: You know that “can you imagine telling the dog sitter this?” trend? Well you sure should. You can tell me. He only drinks from the bathtub faucet? She needs her blanket tucked a specific way? He gets 1 & 1/4 treats at exactly 8pm (and he KNOWS when it is exactly 8pm)? I want the whole list, and I’ll follow it. And document it for laughs later. Hi, I'm Lucille! I'm a first aid and pet CPR certified dog lover in the Haddon Township/Collingswood area offering drop-in visits, walks, and overnight/boarding care for pups who deserve a home away from home and not a kennel. I’ve been the go-to sitter for friends and family, and after enough people said "you should branch out and do this on Rover!" I decided to listen. So after deciding to take a break from corporate America, here I am! I spent 15 years in HR, which means I'm the person who reads the instructions and sends the update with documentation before you have to ask. Your dog's routine, meds, quirks, and "absolutely-not" list will be followed to the letter, with photos and check-ins so you can relax. For 8 years I was lucky to be a rescue mom to Padfoot, a 8lb toy poodle who came to me with behavior issues. He taught me patience, how to read a dog's body language, and how to earn trust on THEIR terms. I approach every dog just like Padfoot taught me, with calm energy, clear structure, and lots and LOTS of affection (if that’s their thing, of course!) Every new booking will start with a meet-and-greet. I'd love to meet you and your pup(s)! I am currently in the job market so while I am not working full time I have flexible availability. I cannot say I am a particularly active person, so don’t expect hikes and walks for miles and miles. However I do love the quiet walk around my neighborhood, which is a loop just short of a mile. **New Sitter Rates: - Boarding (in my home): $50/night (extended stay - more than 5 consecutive nights = 10% off total stay) - House sitting (in your home): $70/night (extended stay - more than 5 consecutive nights = 10% off total stay) - Drop-in visit or walk (30 min): $25 Add-ons: - Additional dog: +$10/night (boarding & house sitting); +$5 per walk/visit - Puppy under 1 year: +$5/night - Holiday surcharge: +20% per night, walk or visit Pick-up & drop-off services: - One way (within 5 miles): $10 - Round trip: $15 - Beyond 5 miles: +$1/mile **All rates applicable to Rover’s booking fees, taxes, etc. - I do not have a yard, but for outdoor space have a balcony that is secure. Pups will never be let outside unattended. - I can accommodate pee pee pads on said balcony, if needed. - I do not have a very large apartment, so I might not be the best fit for a dog that needs a lot of space for big zoomies. - Speaking of apartments, sorry but dogs that are frequent barkers could be problematic, so please consider that if you’re looking for a longer stay. - I can accommodate however the dog would like to sleep. While I love all dogs, my allergies do not, so unfortunately dogs that shed will not be able to sleep in bed with me. I will be very sad about this the entire time and reserve the right to change my mind. - NO cats, or dogs that share a household with cats. That’s where my allergies have set a firm boundary. Photo evidence from urgent care trip upon request.
“I can’t say enough great things about, Bree! She is our new favorite Rover 😊 Our dog stayed with her for 3 nights and Bree sent daily detailed updates and photos, which were so appreciated. She was very thorough in asking about our regular schedule and care routine at home to help make our pup feel right at home with her. We’ll definitely be using Bree again in the future!!”

“Alyssa and Marcus were great. They took great care of Barney and kept me posted with pictures during his stay. I would recommend them to others looking for good and responsible dog sitters.”

“Nicole and her husband always take great care of our 3 dogs while we are away. I never have to worry about my older dog or my dog Kane that’s a big scared baby. Jersey comes home every time with a smile. Definitely recommend Nicole!”

“jennifer and family did a fantastic job taking care of our dogs - very communicative and we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing our dogs are in excellent hands”

“Carismeldi was awesome! This was my first time leaving my Mason with someone new and she made me feel very comfortable. I loved getting the pictures and updates reassuring me that my baby was in good hands. I will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“I have no complaints. I needed someone last minute and Zyiana and her fiancée came through. They were responsive, updated me with pictures and made sure Paris was comfortable in their home. This was her first time away so thank you for making her experience special.”

“Michelle was great! Our pup was anxious when we left and wouldn't eat for several days. She made sure he was drinking and made him eggs and hot dogs to entice him to eat. She kept me posted and sent us pictures regularly so we knew he was ok. We could not be happier, we will defintely use her again.”

“Loved Robert. Made sure he knew all about my dogs needs; asked several questions. Easy to work with. Had a quick meet and greet. Sent great pictures on fun outings. Also just hanging out on the front porch people watching...party hats and all ;) I love it. My boy Boudreaux will be back for sure.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Hi-Nella
I couldn't be happier with the care Yajaira provided for my dog, Baxter. He stayed with her for two weeks while we were away, and it was clear from the start that she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches. Communication was excellent, and she was always responsive and helpful. When we picked Baxter up, he was happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after. It's such a relief to know you can travel without worrying about your pet. I highly recommend Yajaira and would gladly trust her with Baxter again.

I cannot thank Stacey and her boyfriend enough for taking such good care of our 10.5-month-old puppy while we were out of town. She was very communicative and provided lots of updates and pictures which I greatly appreciated. Our pup had such a good time playing with her dogs and I will absolutely book again! Thank you again, Stacey!

Danielle was amazing! You can tell she absolutely loves animals. We could tell just from meeting her that Cannon and Chup were in good hands when we boarded them. We requested to board last minute and she was great about it. Danielle sent plenty of updates as well.

Very satisfied with Melissa! She was very responsive and patient with my dog. She has a really nice big yard, which I loved! She was able to accommodate my last-minute request and even kept my dog an extra day due to a change in my schedule. I’m very grateful for her flexibility and the care she provided. I highly recommend her and would definitely use her services again!

So happy Karleigh was available to watch Dingo again (: He had such a great time as always and had fun with their pup Noodle and was calm and relaxed when we picked him. He really loved staying with them at their new house with a wonderful fenced in big backyard. Perfect setup for him to feel safe and comfortable. She sent us pictures, videos, and updates which was really sweet and we were not worried about him at all. Outstanding sitter! Will definitely book her again. They are the best. Highly recommend (:

Would trust Amber with June again in a heartbeat! June is a recent shelter rescue, so I was nervous about leaving her with someone new, but I couldn't have asked for a better sitter. She took wonderful care of June the whole time, sent updates and photos so I never had to worry, and clearly put in the effort to help June feel safe and comfortable in a new environment. You can tell she’s more of a dog person than a people person, but in the best way possible because June warmed up to her fairly quickly and seemed so relaxed and happy to stay with Amber. June got along great with her animals. Great communication from start to finish, and she gave so much love to my girl.

Probably our fourth stay with Annette and Martin. They are fantastic! Our very active, friendly spaniel loves them and we get pictures and reels that show us just how comfortable and happy he is. Pretty sure he gets so much attention he thinks he's on vacation. I can't see why would use anyone else.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hi-Nella home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Hi-Nella.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Hi-Nella sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
