Aside from simply being an animal lover, my experience varies from puppies to elderly dogs, big dogs to small dogs, and kittens to cats. Whether the pet is big or small, timid or affectionate, I love them all just the same. I have occasionally birdwatched as well (and not just through binoculars!). In my family dog’s elderly years she was both blind and had diabetes. She received her insulin via needle twice a day on a strict schedule. Her food was also carefully thought out. I take care of other peoples' pets with the same attention to detail. I am adept at giving medicine to both cats and dogs from shots to pills to syringes in the mouth. From staying with 5-month-old kittens to nursing a dog in end-of-life care, I have the patience and wherewithal to attend to all situations. If your pet is in the room with me, you can guarantee I am holding long-form conversations with them. When I pet-sit, I get personal. Aside from meeting their expected needs, I look forward to and take pride in spending quality time with them. If a dog wants to play, I love to play. If a cat wants to sit in my lap and interrupt my reading, I guess we are watching TV now! If your pet is skittish, I give them the space and opportunity to come to me in their own time. My ultimate goal is for your pets to feel as safe and comfortable as if you are home with them!
