About: I’ve lived with dogs and cats since I was a kid, multiple times my family and I have taken care of other people’s animals, including dog sitting and dog walking, along with cat sitting for months on end. I’m currently not working, and the only dates I cannot do this summer is July 1-5, and August 1-9. Other than that, it works into my schedule perfectly I take my dogs on walks and train them, I make sure they’re always fed and have clean water, I’m attentive to their needs as best as I can, I make sure to play with them and occasionally groom them if needed (not a professional), and I do the same with my cats along with cleaning their litter boxes regularly

“Danae did a great job with our skittish, young puppy for a last minute sit. We so appreciate her flexibility and persistence with our dog, who has not had a lot of experience with sitters. Highly recommend—she communicated with is throughout her time with Tib and we so appreciate her!!”

“Big thanks to JoJo for cat visits while we were out of town. Kept them fed, happy, and clean! Enjoyed the text updates :P Will feel comfortable trusting her again in the future!”

About: I've had the wonderful experience of caring for the many animals at the humane society including dogs, cats, bunnies, mice, and birds. I've had the chance to bond with animals with a variety of different personalities and background stories. I also have administered medication and cared for animals with different medical needs including chronic kidney disease. I hope to bring my experience and passion for animals to better serve your feline and canine friends. I'm currently available on the weekends and Friday night. I hope to dedicate plenty of time to spend taking care of your animal companions. I hope to have more availability in the future. In addition to feeding and changing the litter box, I hope to check in on your animals to make sure they are comfortable and there are no hazardous items around. I hope to spend some time socializing and playing with them if they up for it! Otherwise, a friendly hello will do.
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and caring for them is truly second nature to me. I grew up managing large horse farms, where I was responsible for a wide variety of animals—from horses and livestock to, of course, dogs and cats. This hands-on experience has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, routines, and the level of care each pet deserves. I was also a competitive equestrian for 18 years, and my dogs were always right there by my side, so I understand how important it is to have someone you trust looking after your pets. Today, I have a 7-month-old Labrador, so I’m very familiar with puppy energy, training consistency, and lots of playtime! Whether your pet needs long walks, structured care, or just some extra love and attention, I’m reliable, attentive, and treat every animal as if they were my own. I’m happy to accommodate specific routines and make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I work from home creating a flexible schedule.
About: Pet owners have relied on my sincerity to their furry friends whenever they had to travel. They knew that I would go above and beyond with their precious pets and were very happy with what I did! I’m a freelance filmmaker who can adjust his schedule for pets. I have projects that I can shuffle based on what I have planned to do. With an empathetic approach I care for animals. I look out for their safety and nourishment and give them love and care. I genuinely am an animal lover so it comes easy.

About: I’ve been an animal lover since the day I was born. I’ve had many cats and dogs (even a couple bunnies!) over the years. Growing up, I spent time pet sitting for neighbors, even had a neighbor who had chickens and goats which I cared for. Currently the owner of two 10 year old cats, who are best friends with our two children. We have just moved into the area and currently my days are flexible. I am happy to come mornings after 8:30 pm, midday or evenings. I am happy to meet your pets and abide by any special instructions, including diet, that will be essential to their care. I understand some pets crave a little extra love and attention so I’m happy to stay extra time with your pet should they need it.
About: I strive to make the lives of our furry friends as fulfilling and fun as possible! I'm very comfortable taking care of any pet, and I have taken care of senior animals who require insulin shots and meticulous diets. One of my favorite electives at university was my 'Psychology of our Pets' class where we learned about how to best care for our furry friends and keep them active and healthy. I have owned dogs, cats, and even birds! Since I'm home from university for the summer, I'm pretty much available at the drop of a dime! While I would prefer a day's notice, I should be able to take care of your pet within two hours of your request. I believe that activities and fun are just as important for pets as they are for humans. Who wants to be stuck in their house all day? I know tons of dog-friendly walking trails, and I'd love to spend a few hours with them & make sure they are well-exercised. I've dealt with a lot of dietary restrictions for pets, so I can follow any directions very closely if needed. For Cats/Kittens, I have a few toys I'd be happy to bring, and even a harness if they want to explore outside for a few minutes!

“Matthew has been an amazing pet sitter and care taker for my two boys, including my senior cat with significant health concerns. I was kept updated with each visit, and Matt was very communicative with medications and how much each boy ate. I feel secure whenever Matt watched my boys!”
“Ellie was a wonderful and thoughtful sitter! We enjoyed her thorough and entertaining updates and she gave our kitties some much needed attention while we were away for the week.”

About: I started walking my neighbors’ dogs, then my friends’ dogs and then my family's dogs. Walking dogs was becoming an extremely joyful experience for me. I was able to gain knowledge on different type of breeds and the amount of dogs I walked had gradually increased. Whenever owners would go on vacation, I realized that I was the first person they would contact. They appreciated how I attended their dogs with love and care. I have a clientele that has been with me for more than 3 years. I am able to stay home and tend to the pups full-time. I have a fully fenced yard as well as activities/toys for them to play with. I also have multiple crates and beds for the dogs to lay in.
“My experience with Robyn was excellent! She is extremely reliable, very good at communicating, and followed all instructions for my puppy, Potato. I received regular photo updates, and she made sure he stayed on his feeding, walking, and potty schedule. She even accommodated a last minute time change, which I really appreciated. I felt confident that he was safe and well cared for the entire time. I would absolutely book again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for trustworthy, pet sitter !”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Piermont. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
