Danae was great! A friend and I were both out of the country and live close to each other, so she was checking in on both of our pets. She was really good about coordinating everything and communicating with us while we were away (even when I was terrible at responding lol). She’s super friendly and I felt totally comfortable having her take care of my cats. Would definitely book her again!

About: I've been taking care of dogs my whole life and they all have good experiences and they are very comfortable with me. I love dogs Pet care is already part of my daily routine. I have my own dog, Ziggy, and I’ve had my service dog, Eclipse, for two years. Living with and caring for dogs every day has taught me patience, responsibility, and how to understand each dog’s unique needs. As I prepare for college, I have a flexible schedule and look forward to providing dependable, loving care for your pets. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. As the owner of Ziggy and my service dog, Eclipse, I’ve learned how important routine, patience, and positive care are. I’ll carefully follow your instructions, provide lots of walks, playtime, and attention, and make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: I have 20+ years of pet boarding, pet sitting, dog walking and now my whole family shares the love - and some of the responsibilities! I am experienced with dogs, cats, guinea pigs and other small creatures! I view all pets as family members. I live in NY and looking for a house sitting gig during my trip to Arizona during this spring break. My schedule is flexible - I am planning to take our four legged friends on lots of adventures outdoors. I work from home and my schedule is flexible so I spend most time with our furry clients.I can’t wait to go on a walk or play with my furry clients! We are happy to come to your home or board your pets in our home. We don't have a fenced in yard but we frequent the dog park and the park near-by. In my day job I regularly work with NYPD, the court system and other federal and state agencies - therefore I have a high level security clearance.

About: Hi there! I can’t wait to welcome your pet into my home. Dogs and cats who stay here are treated like guests of honor, with all the care and attention I bestow upon my own pets. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, pets are allowed to roam freely in a cozy, familiar home environment — no rows of kenneled dogs here! I’m very selective about the pets I accept. I usually only accept a maximum of 3-4 dogs at once. I meet every new pet before booking, and I usually won’t accept more than one new dog at a time, alongside repeat clients. This ensures that I’m familiar with how all the dogs will interact with each other, with only one new variable, thus avoiding potentially uncomfortable or dangerous situations for your pet. I’ve always loved animals, and with more than 15 years of pet care under my belt, I have the knowledge and experience to provide your pets with the best care possible. I take the responsibility of caring for your pets very seriously, and I’m certified by the American Red Cross in Cat and Dog First Aid. Earliest drop off or pickup is at 8 am. Latest drop off or pickup is at 8 pm on weekdays, 9 pm on weekends. I’m also available for drop-ins at your home, every day except Saturday mornings. (I’m available Saturday evenings instead.) For Dogs: I have a large, unfenced backyard that dogs love exploring on a 50-foot long leash - so many scents to sniff and chipmunks to chase! I’m always there to monitor them - dogs are never left alone outdoors. Water is always available, and I work from home so I’m around the majority of the day to keep them happy and safe. What you’ll need to send: Their regular food is the most important thing to send, as dogs can get upset stomach from sudden dietary changes. You can also send their favorite treats, and a favorite toy. If they tend to pull on the leash, a front-latch harness, rubber-tipped prong collar, or gentle leader is appreciated. Bowls, beds, brushes, litter bags etc. are all unnecessary, as I have extras of all these supplies. For puppies, a crate may be necessary, depending on their level of potty training. For Cats: The cats have a comfy lounge downstairs, with food, water, litter boxes, and scratching posts. The dogs are not allowed downstairs, so the cats can get all the space they need from the dogs. The cats are free to move upstairs and downstairs as they prefer. All cats are indoors only. I have a lot of wide, accessible windowsills that they love chilling on to watch birds and squirrels outside, as well as battery-operated and automated toys that they can chase and play with on their own. What you’ll need to send: their regular food (wet and dry) and treats. Cat litter is also appreciated. I work from home, so my schedule is flexible and I’m home most of the day. I have a spacious home that can accommodate giving multiple animals space, and I can keep animals separated from each other if necessary. I've always loved animals of all kinds, and I currently have my own dog and 3 cats. I can't wait to meet your pet, and I promise to love them and care for them the way every pet deserves to be loved!

I currently share my home with a 14 y.o. Maltese, so I have a soft spot for seniors and know how to care for dogs at every life stage. My clients describe me as reliable, compassionate, and trustworthy, and I take pride in always showing up as scheduled. I’d love to meet your pup and answer any questions you have. Their happiness is the whole point! I’m a recent graduate from Virginia Tech’s agricultural & applied economics masters program. I have full availability to care for your pet(s), including holidays and weekends. Safety is of utmost importance to me. I understand that each pet has unique needs and preferences. If necessary, I am experienced in crate training and can provide a secure and comfortable space for your dog if you prefer them to be crated while I am caring for them. I am diligent in following any specific safety instructions or guidelines you provide to ensure your pet's safety at all times. Trust is the foundation of a successful pet caretaker-client relationship. I recognize the trust you place in me by allowing me access to your home and entrusting me with the care of your furry family member. I take this responsibility seriously and will always respect your home, privacy, and belongings. You can trust that I will provide the highest level of care and attention to your pet, just as if they were my own. Creating a comfortable environment for your pet is crucial for their well-being. I understand that some pets have specific preferences or routines, and I am committed to maintaining those while you're away. If you request that your dog be kept off furniture, I will ensure they adhere to that rule. I will follow any specific instructions you provide regarding feeding, playtime, or any other routines your pet requires. By maintaining a familiar and comfortable environment, I aim to reduce any stress or anxiety your pet may experience in your absence. In addition to safety, trust, and comfort, I also pay close attention to the overall environment in your home. I am mindful of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards during my stay. I will clean up after your pet, dispose of waste properly, and keep their living area tidy. I believe that a clean and organized space contributes to your pet's well-being and helps create a positive atmosphere for them. Your pet's happiness and contentment are my top priorities. By focusing on safety, building trust, and creating a comfortable environment, I strive to provide the best possible care for your furry friend. You can rest assured that I will go above and beyond to ensure their well-being while you are away. If you have any specific requests or concerns regarding safety, trust, or creating a comfortable environment for your pet, please feel free to discuss them with me. I am here to address any questions or provide additional information to make you feel confident in my abilities as your pet caretaker.

About: I have raised my two cats Ginger and Marble since they were a few weeks old, and they are 8 now. While I’m away at school (Babson College in Wellesley), I miss my cats and would love to take care of your pets. I often take care of my cousins’ dogs, and my girlfriend’s dogs as well. I schedule my life around the needs of your pets. My classes are from Monday - Thursday in the afternoon, so I can walk pets in the morning or evening every day. Walking is one of my favorite pastimes so I can spend a lot of time outdoors with your pets if they like that. I feed my cats a variety of cat foods and real natural foods, and will care for yours however you prefer. Also, I refill the water for pets often so they have fresh water, and my cats like to drink straight from the sink. Also, I am very tidy, and will make sure your house stays very clean.

Dan Bee took great care of Bouji when we travelled for 3 days. Bouji was not yet 1 years old and not used to being alone. Dan Bee took time each visit to find her (hiding!) and engage her and give her attention and socialization, in addition to taking care of water and food and litter. I could enjoy my time away knowing Bouji was in good hands.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Orangeburg. On Rover:

  • 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
