This is the 1st time leaving our 7 year old fur baby at home without us. She’s pretty spoiled so we didn’t know how it would go, but Bri was so good with her and was excellent communicating with us. That put us at ease and it didn’t take long for Bailey to trust her. We hope that she will be available if needed again.

Rebekah was a delightful dog sitter for my three pups. She did a meet and greet and was very accommodating to the three dogs’ needs, especially my anxious guy. She was very gentle and intuitively knew how to approach each one. I got so many sweet pics and updates. My dogs are very happy with her care and so am I!

I have an English Bulldog named Elvis and a fluffy cat named Zeppelin, so I understand the love, attention, and care pets need every day. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m currently in school and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to be available throughout the week. I have plenty of time to give your pets attention, playtime, and care. I’m available on weekends and most weekdays, and I’ll always make sure your pet feels comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. I create a safe, calm environment and always prioritize your pet’s comfort and routine. I can follow specific instructions and crate your pet if needed, and I treat every animal like my own.

Dru was such a great home and pet sitter! She was very communicative, kind, knowledgeable, and she was very patient with my highly anxious, noisy, husky/shepherd mix. Her and her partner were respectful of my space and left it in great shape for me to come home to after a long travel day. Dru is everything I look for in a kind, responsible, communicative, trustworthy person to trust my home and babies with, while I'm away. I'm grateful for the peace of mind she provided me with, by knowing my babies and home were in good hands, while I was away. I will absolutely have her sit for me again!! Thanks Dru!

About: I love dogs.... mine are the best. I have four dogs; Evy, Boy-Boy, Mona Lisa, and Koko. Evy, beagle/poodle, was an untrained and hyper dog when I first got her. She was peeing and pooing everywhere, and chewed on everything. It took me six months to fully puppy pad, crate, and outdoor train her. Then she had puppies and I raised them from birth until they were adopted out around six months. I made sure they survived and trained them to be the best puppies ever! Puppies when they are born can't see and are like reptiles. They must be kept in a room above 80 degrees for two weeks until they develop proper body temperature. Puppies first milk (Colostrum) is important. I f they don't get that first serving of essential vitamins and minerals they will die. but to keep that from happening and to make sure they did survive, I put Colostrum formula in Evy's food. In order to keep them safe from infection, I put clean cardboard down in every section of the room and housed them in large cardboard boxes layed down with blackets for warmth.. I essentially created a giant base half the size of a bedroom. it was very small at first but as they grew, I made it bigger. I took away the boxes and just had a kennel around two months, They were crate trained, puppy pad trained, and outdoor trained. There were four beagle/poodle/dachshund pups. Boy-Boy, Mona Lisa, Eclipse, and Koko. Boy-Boy is headstrong and sweet. Mona Lisa is just like her mother, hardheaded but very intelligent. Eclipse is the gentleman; first to listen. And Koko is the center of attention; jealous but very loyal. Eclipse got adopted, my mom took Boy-Boy and Mona Lisa and I kept Koko. I love them all, even though they chewed up my carpet. I love dogs. I know about dogs personalities, how to respond to them, and recognize their moods. The key to taking care of a dog is patience. You just have to take your time with a dog and see what they do and how they act and what they like. I am available everyday in from 7 to 3. Everyday except Sundays.

My husband and I booked Chelsea to stay at our house with our dog George while we were on vacation this week, and I can’t stress enough what an amazing job she did! She gave us consistent updates on how George was doing, and she was so quick to respond to us throughout the whole process of booking her and during her stay at our house! She put us so at ease, and she truly is great with dogs because George doesn’t like everyone, but he loved Chelsea! She truly cared about taking good care of him and we will definitely use her again in the future!

About: I’m patient, dependable, and love dogs of all sizes. My family has had dogs since I was 10, so I’ve grown up helping care for them. I have experience with puppies, feeding, enrichment, playtime, and making sure they get the attention they need. I have two dogs of my own, Finn and Oakley, and I love spending time with them. I’ve even taught my puppy a few tricks and would love to keep learning more about dog training. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, and I’ll do my best to make them feel comfortable while you’re away. I also have experience caring for amphibians, fish, and reptiles, so I’m happy to look after more than just dogs and cats. I’m not currently working, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. I have reliable transportation and am available most weekdays and weekends. I don’t offer boarding in my home, but I’m happy to care for your pets in yours. I’ll treat your home with respect by keeping it clean, secure, and following your pet’s routine. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away!

About: Ever since I was a child, one of my primary responsibilities in my house was to take care of the animals. Going on walks with them, feeding them, taking care of their bathroom, breaks and such matters. I have no aversion to cleaning up messes and also have a high priority for taking care of them. Have worked in vet clinics, pet sit, and more. I am only free every morning besides working in Troy I am also willing to go to home on my lunch break to let out or check up on pets and then also after my One of my highest priorities is giving my animals that I take care of health and happiness, whether that be monitoring weight giving medication’s playing with them grooming, taking care of nails I want animals to be happy. That is one of the beings of my self

About: I absolutely love animals, and I have years of experience caring for all kinds. From hermit crabs to dogs to ferrets, I watch them all! I’m willing to care for any disabled animals as well- they need love too. I’m willing to take on any challenges so that you can have peace of mind. I am free most afternoons and evenings for hours at a time, so I would be more than willing to care for the pets during those times. Depending on the owner’s home and routine for the animals, that’s how I will tend the animals. I don’t want to disrupt any kind of routine they may have and cause stress.

FAQs for House Sitting - Piedmont

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Piedmont on Rover is $39.96 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 706 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Piedmont. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Piedmont walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Piedmont maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Piedmont choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Piedmont. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
