About: I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and exotic animals for families and neighbors for over 8 years. This ranges from home check-ins, trips to the vet, and overnight pet sitting. I have two cats at home and share custody of an English lab with my ex-boyfriend. New graduate in between jobs. Availability for the month of May/June is open. I do my best to accommodate all hours and needs for clients. I understand that a pet's home and environment are crucial. At home, I make sure my cats always have access to their food and water, litter boxes, and places for them to lounge :)

“Taryn was awesome! We were traveling to Pescadero for the day, with my daughter, son in-law and grandpuppies, but didn't want to leave them in the car while we had lunch and walked the town. Taryn met us at the restaurant and took the dogs to a nearby play area. She was on time, professional, and so caring with the pups. There human mommy was nervous to leave them, but felt comfortable with Taryn. We had a relaxing lunch, and the pooches came back happy and tired! Thanks Taryn for your professionalism, it added so much to our special day.”

“Deborah is just simply the best. My cat Dusty was always happy to see her evidenced by the pictures Deborah sent me daily to make sure I could still see him. Highly recommend meeting Deborah, you can tell she loves what she does and treats your furry friends just the same as you would.”

“Anna was so sweet with my puppy. She spent some time with her and even went the extra mile trying to get her to sleep before she left. She did a meet and greet the day before hand which was nice of her. Would definitely reach out again for a check in!”

“Evan was great! He took great care of our 3 fur babies. I felt totally at ease and knew that I could trust him to be there for my dogs when they needed to be cared for. He has been easy to communicate with and reliable!”
“First time booking Esmeralda to drop-in on our cats and she was great! She was very punctual and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. We loved receiving photos from her at each visit. We will definitely be returning to Esmeralda the next time we are away.”

About: I've been caring for dogs with love and intention since I was 14 — and now my husband and I get to do it alongside Kaia, my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel pup 🐶 She's warm, emotionally attuned, and genuinely excited to make a new friend — but she'll also give your pup all the space they need if they'd rather just cozy up solo. We have a fenced front yard, backyard, and cozy indoor space, so your fur baby will feel right at home. My husband and I work from home during the day, so there will always be someone available and taking care of the pets throughout the day. I have a fenced front and backyard, and a sweet, playful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel pup to keep them company. I can crate your dog and provide a safe space if they need it, and I will feed them at the designated time. We will only watch up to 2 pets (including our own) at a time, so you can be sure your pup will be given lots of care and attention.

About: I'm responsible, easygoing, and genuinely love spending time with dogs. I've been wanting to get a dog of my own, but the timing isn't quite right yet. Caring for dogs through Rover is a great opportunity for me to spend time with them and spend more time outdoors. I work full time as a manager during the day, so I focus on providing care before and after work, in the evenings after 4:00pm, and on weekends. While I'm newer to pet sitting, I have lived with over 12 dogs and cats. I take safety and trust very seriously. As a manager in my full time career, I am dependable and attentive to details. I understand that every dog has unique needs.
“I trust Ulysses with my fur babies. I can tell they’ve been loved while I’m away. The pictures and videos he sends while caring for my kitties show how much they like him. He even takes my trash can out on garbage day.”

“Elise is very kind, caring, and gentle with Suriya and takes care of him with patience and understanding. Suriya enjoys Elise's company and is relaxed and happy with her care. Elise is very reliable, wonderful to work with, and I cannot recommend her enough!”
“Tillana is a wonderful cat sitter! She’s very experienced. She knows how to engage our senior citizen cats and keep them happy. She’s also great at giving medicine and making it easy for the cat. We love all the photos she sends and the extremely detailed reports of how the kitties are doing, what they’re up to, and if she noticed anything different. Tillana goes above and beyond to care for our cats, keeping their litter box super clean, and deep cleaning their water fountain. She also just has a great “cat sense”. She knows when a cat wants attention or quiet time, and if they want to play or just be carried around and watch the birds. We’re so lucky to have Tillana as our cat sitter and we gladly put our full trust in her to take care of our kitties.”

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pescadero. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
