“Kenny took care of our dog in best possible way He walked the dog multiple times a day and let him play with his dog Sent us pictures and videos showing how our pet was doing We are very happy about Kenny care and will definitely use his service again”

“Mike is great with dogs. My pup had plenty of walks and playtime with couple of other dogs in the roomy backyard, and he got lots of pets and affection. I would definitely leave my dog with him again.”

“Ivan was absolutely wonderful, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. From the very first day, it was clear how kind, attentive, and genuinely caring he is. Our dog stayed with Ivan for 8 days, and throughout that time we felt completely at ease knowing everything was in such loving and responsible hands. Ivan kept us regularly updated and sent photos, which meant so much and gave us total peace of mind. He was incredibly accommodating and treated our dog as if he were his own. We came back to a happy, calm dog - which truly says it all. It’s rare to find someone you can fully trust, and Ivan is absolutely one of those people. We are beyond grateful and will definitely be using him again. Highly, highly recommend to anyone looking for exceptional and loving care. 🐶❤️”

“You won’t find better dog care than Katie and Jason! Attentive, caring and loving- they went above and beyond with walks, playtime and snuggles. Benji had a wonderful time staycationing with them! Super great communication before and during stay, too! Our pooches will be back. Can’t recommend more highly. 🩷”

“Sofiya took wonderful care of my dog, Spot, at her home. He is old, has challenges, special needs and needs lots of care, handling and attention. I had great relief when I knew that Spot was being looked after with such great attention and affection. Thanks to Sofiya for helping me when I needed it. And Spot was happy.”

About: I've taken care of small dogs and large dogs since I was in middle school. I enjoy playing with dogs, giving them lots of hugs and pets, and taking them on excursions, whether it be to the dog park, beach, or a scenic hiking trail. I work part-time from home so I am able to spend lots of time with the fur babies in my care. I love to take them out for fresh air and exercise, and give them lots of love, pets, and attention. I have a fenced, grassy backyard and a friendly labrador retriever named Sadie who is very sweet and playful and loves having other dogs to play with. We have a doggie door so the pups have day and night access to the backyard to run around and do their business. I can easily crate your dog if that is something you prefer.
“Sarah was wonderful with my dog, super attentive and clearly cared a lot. She took him out on hikes and kept me updated with plenty of photos, which I really appreciated. He came back happy and relaxed. Would happily book with her again.”

About: I’ve owned dogs my entire life (at one point we had 5 at time!) love taking them for long walks, teaching them new tricks like weave (and handstand!), and engaging their minds with agility. My senior dog recently passed and while I am not ready to get a new dog just yet, I miss having a dog so want to occasionally dog sit to help others out with their dogs before getting another dog of my own. I work full time but occasionally work from home. For this reason, Thursday to Sunday or Monday is best for me. I am active and love going on walks, hikes, and runs in and around the beautiful Portola Valley neighborhood. I love to hang on the couch and snuggle in the evenings! Dogs (non shedding) allowed on the bed :) My large backyard is fenced. My husband Dave and I often are asked by friends to help train their dogs because we love to help and are good at it! :)
“Shannon was absolutely wonderful with Dobby. I was able to relax on my vacation knowing my dog was having a vacation of his own with Apollo. She gave frequent updates with plenty of photos and was very communicative during the stay. I couldn’t recommend her enough.”

“Rachael and her partner were nothing short of amazing with our dog Indy. Indy was instantly relaxed when he arrived for the night at Rachael’s, and had a lovely evening of cuddles and play with Rachael and her “crew”. Her dog and kitty were equally as welcoming to Indy! The picture updates were amazing and unexpected, and I could tell Indy was incredibly comfortable for his overnight stay. 10/10 recommend Rachael, and we will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“Mario was a wonderful and caring dog sitter for our girl Pippa! He is very good at responding quickly and will keep you updated with pictures throughout the stay. He took her for long walks and got all of her puppy energy out so she was a very tired and happy dog when we picked her up. While we were gone our little girl got her first heat as our vet didn't want her to be fixed until she goes through that and he was super helpful with that and didn't mind at all even though we were so apologetic this happened on his watch! We asked if we could replace anything and he assured us it was not necessary. What a great dog sitter and would definitely book with him again next time we're out of town! Thanks so much Mario!”

“I forgot to leave the review of Oreo's stay last summer. He had a happy and relaxing time with Nina and Leo's full attention! They are so nice and professional that I can feel Oreo's in good hands. Highly recommend!”
“Qi took amazing care of our dogs, Pebbles and Luna, while we were away. Both of our girls are on the anxious side, so finding someone we trust is incredibly important. Qi was patient, attentive, and made them feel comfortable and cared for. We also appreciated how thoughtfully she manages the dogs in her care. Even though she watches multiple dogs, she carefully groups dogs that get along well and makes sure everyone has a safe, positive experience. Her home is very clean and well-maintained, which gave us additional peace of mind. Qi was also fantastic with communication, sending frequent photos and videos so we could see how Pebbles and Luna were doing. We always felt informed and reassured. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!”

“This was my first time using Rover service. I was worried in the first. But Manli and his husband were very nice to my dogs and very responsive. They sent me pictures of the dogs everyday and kept us posted all the time. The husband even slept on couch to take care of my dogs since they barked at the new environment in the night. Will definitely use them again in the future.”
“Svetlana was great! Our dog was loved and cared for, and I would not hesitate to leave her again in such good hands. I appreciated the daily updates and pictures of walks, play, and lounging at home. Svetlana was super responsive to all of my questions and was such a nice person to interact with. The overall experience was fantastic.”

“so easy! Charlotte is very accommodating and took good care of my French bulldog who is a terribly finicky eater. She made her eggs every day. She sent me pictures and kept me up-to-date. Her two little girls were adorable.”

“Meerim and her partner were absolutely amazing dog sitters for my family’s 9 year old dog! She handled our dog’s reactive tendencies around other dogs like a pro and was incredibly prompt in responding and sending pics throughout the stay. Our dog was very happy and comfortable with Meerim due to her attentive, gentle, and loving nature - I would readily recommend Meerim to anyone looking for the best pet care around and we will definitely happily rebook!”

“We were incredibly lucky to find Michael. Mateo is a high-energy, reactive Aussie Labradoodle puppy, and Michael was the perfect match. Mateo stayed with him for six days and received daily walks/runs, structure, and amazing care. Michael’s communication was outstanding — daily updates, photos, and even activity stats. I honestly wondered who was on vacation, me or Mateo! Michael is professional, reliable, and truly knowledgeable. He noticed a possible ear infection, shared helpful advice, and even offered to take Mateo to our vet. When I mentioned Mateo had missed grooming, Michael offered to take him to his groomer as well. Even when Mateo had a classic puppy moment and chewed up a pair of their expensive shoes, Michael and his wife were nothing but gracious and kind. Michael genuinely goes above and beyond. We will absolutely use him again and are already recommending him to other dog owners.”

“Amelia is wonderful! We were so happy to be able to be away and know that she's taking good care of our pup. The fact that our anxious little dog loves her says it all.”

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
