“Dena did a great job with my little Tater Tot while we were gone for 1 1/2 weeks. Tater isn't always the easiest to get along with, but she managed to charm him pretty quickly! She took all of my concerns seriously and was great with communication. Dena sent a ton of pictures every day, which was so helpful to see that he was doing ok. When we returned home, the house was in perfect order and Tater and clearly been well cared for. I would absolutely recommend Dena to anyone!!!”

About: hello, my name is kylie! i am 23 years old & my boyfriend, josh, & i are big time animal lovers. we have been pet sitting full-time since the beginning of this year but have been dog/cat owners for our entire lives. it has truly been such a life enhancing experience. we are always looking to build our cliente & would love YOU to be next. josh & i also both carry Pet Care insurance. my boyfriend & i have been lucky enough to do pet sitting full-time so i always have time to accommodate any of my clients 🤍 this job is my top priority We have 1 dog & 1 cat. Our dog, Toby, is an energetic boxer-beagle mix. He is about 6 years old & we’ve had him since he was a baby. Our cat, Skye, is less than one year old & we got her back in May 2025. She is such a sweet cat, & loves going outside sometimes in the front yard.
“Serena took very good care of our new furbaby!! We were a little anxious cuz it was the first time leaving him for a few hours. All was well eI will definitely call on Serena next time.”

“Riya is simply awesome! Here’s why: She got sick before house sitting but still showed up and later she found out she had a flu and went to ER. But she still got back to our dog, Jacob, and took good care of him. Also, she disinfected the whole house and did laundry to make sure we don’t get the flu. Isn’t it just awesome!? I would definitely 100% recommend Riya, and we will book with Riya again.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats since I was old enough to remember them. I’ve helped raise three dogs from around the age of 10 weeks old, and along with that time and experience I helped my mom with training, walking, and playing with the animals. I currently am a cat mom to two furbabies, and I am looking to help other pet parents who need some extra assistance when they can’t be home 24/7 with their furkids. While I do work full-time M-F, I would be available for drop-ins after 5:30pm during the week am on weekends I’d be available for overnights on Friday or Saturday, as well as for drop-ins when overnights aren’t scheduled. I will not be offering the service within my own home since I live in an apartment complex. To help make it easier for the animals, I feel it would be beneficial for them to stay within their own space while I’m there temporarily.
“Daisy was great! She sent photos of the animals daily, kept in touch when she was coming and going from the house and followed all the rules and expectations we set up while we were away. If she had questions or something was unclear she was sure to communicate with us. Our animals loved her, even the most timid one! She left our home clean and even offered to do laundry. We would definitely book with her again.”

About: I will make myself available to do everything possible to keep your dog happy and calm while you are away. Animals are my passion and come natural to me. You will have to worries leaving them me. I’m currently working part-time cleaning houses. As well as, babysitting and pet sitting. I make my own schedule so I can be available when you need me. I try to stick to the routine the pets are most used to as not to stress them out too much. Regular feeding, walking, etc.
“What more could you ask for! Mature and responsible. Loved on my pets like I do…and they loved her! She shared pictures throughout the week which was GREATLY appreciated! I worried about my dog’s separation anxiety, but didn’t need to. Amanda instantly was one of the pack. She cared for the house, kept it clean, and brought in the mail. Perfect 5 star sitter.”

“Joe took care of our guys and house for a long weekend. He took the boys on long walks and we could tell that they were super happy with Joe. Very good communicator and highly responsible. We will be scheduling with Joe again soon.”

“Breon has watched our dogs while we’re out of town several times now (see previous reviews :) ). This time our little one had some specific medical needs and I was nervous about leaving, however, when I saw our little dog squeal with excitement to see Breon it was reaffirmed they’re in good hands! Breon was super communicative (helps with my anxious dog mom self!) and tended to both of our dogs so thoughtfully as she would tend to her own pups. She was outstanding, she followed every medical direction perfectly and spent such quality time with our girls, which helped me feel at ease. It is evident Breon loves dogs and it warms my heart to see how much she cares for our girls. Thank you again, Breon!”

About: I have grown up with and taken care of animals roughly my whole life! Having two cats and two dogs makes caring for animals a daily routine for me. I am also great with caring for kittens and puppies as I have raised all four of my animals since they were little. I have also cared for my own dog’s litter! I’m currently a full time student at the University of Akron & have a ton of time during the summer and holiday seasons to care for any type of animal as needed. I have crate training experience and will be able to crate your pet if needed. I am able to easily adapt to any other security measures as needed.
“This was our first time using Rover, and finding someone to stay overnights with my pets. That was a really big deal for me. James has been amazing since the first time we talked. He took great care of my babies, my home and made my husband and I feel at ease. He was communicative, punctual and transparent. I would recommend James to anyone!”

Daisy was great! We would definitely book with her again.

Dorianne took wonderful care of my dogs while I was away. She was incredibly patient with my poodle, especially after I recently discovered he has cage aggression. She handled everything with kindness and understanding. She even had her own emergency come up and still made time to care for my dogs late into the night, which I truly appreciated. She’s very caring, communicative, and sent lots of photos and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. I would absolutely trust her with my pets again!

Kayla went above and beyond our expectations. She stepped up to take care of our 2 dogs very close to the dates of our trip after another dog sitter had to cancel. There were photos of our “girls” every day. And then she cleaned up the house and washed her bedding before she ended her stay.
Cameron did a fantastic job with our two dogs. He was communicative with us while we were out of town and proactively sent us updates on what was going on. He took great care of our house as well. I would definitely refer him to a friend and plan on working with him again in the future.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Parma Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Parma Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Parma Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Parma Heights. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
