“Dena is the best! She always kept me up to date on how our dogs were doing. I could tell that our dogs just absolutely loved her. Would love to have her back any time!”

“Christina was fantastic with my little ones. She stayed at our house, sent us photos, and checked in daily. It was such a relief knowing that my dogs are comfortable while gone. Definitely will use her again!”

“Jo is simply the best. This is our second time using her and it won’t be our last! She provides excellent care for our 14 y/o dog and I trust her completely. This last visit a recurring medical issue flared up for him and Jo was the first to spot it. She gives detailed communication and was able to pivot and adjust to the new medication instructions immediately. I’m so happy Jo was there to care for Chesney while we were away. It gave me the peace of mind any pet parent (esp of a senior dog) wants. Thank you, Jo!”

“We felt very comfortable leaving Maya in charge. She was always quick to respond and gave us updates with pictures. The pets seemed to really take to her and were happy to see her when she arrived. The house was in great shape when we returned. Her communication skills were excellent. Will definitely use again.”

“Dawn was a great sitter for our puppy. He was very comfortable with her and despite all the rain which he does not like, she was able to get him to go out to do his business. She played with him and cuddled him up, sent pics and was genuinely very kind and caring for our pet. She was on time and very friendly! We will definitely use her again!”

About: I have had dogs my entire life so I’ve gotten very used to taking care of them and loving all kinds! I’m the person everyone in my family comes to for dog/house sitting while they’re out of town and it’s my favorite thing to do for them. I’m in between jobs right now so I have all the time to care for and play with your dogs/cats! I have a 3 year old son who’s been around dogs since the moment he was born and he’s very friendly. I have two dogs of my own at home but they get along kindly with other dogs. I have a fenced yard and a son who loves to go on long walks!
“Kayla was great. From the first meet and greet, she showed she was knowledgeable and experienced. We knew our dog would be in good hands. While away, she sent daily pictures and updates. Would highly recommend”

“Alyssa was wonderful for our two dogs! They seemed very happy and comfortable. Really appreciate her and definitely eased my anxiety leaving them knowing they were in good hands. Will definitely use her again in the future!”

If she had questions or something was unclear she was sure to communicate with us. Our animals loved her, even the most timid one! She left our home clean and even offered to do laundry. We would definitely book with her again.”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was little, and there has always been a dog in my family. Last October, I unfortunately had to put down my dog of 14 years. She was my best friend, and I miss her dearly. Since I’m not quite ready to have another full-time dog, I felt that caring for other people’s dogs would be the perfect way for me to still spend time with them. I’ve always enjoyed going on walks, visiting parks, or simply spending time outside with dogs. I truly believe dogs have such short lives, and they deserve to be loved, spoiled, and cared for every single day. Watching a dog fits naturally into my daily schedule because I genuinely enjoy spending time with them. I’m already used to planning my day around walks, feeding times, playtime, and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for. Whether it’s going for walks, spending time outside, or simply giving them attention and companionship, I enjoy making dogs part of my routine. I understand how important consistency is for pets, and I make sure they receive plenty of love, patience, and care throughout the day. I provide a safe, loving, and trustworthy environment for every dog in my care. I have a fenced-in yard where dogs can safely play, explore, and enjoy time outside. I understand how important trust is when leaving a pet with someone, and I treat every dog like family by making sure they feel comfortable, secure, and well cared for at all times.
“Our dog loved Zoe! He was so happy to see her that he’d cry and lean on her. This speaks volumes to what a great job she did with him! I’d have her sit with him again and again! So lucky we found her!”

About: Dogs have always been a part of my life! Four of my siblings have pups that I regularly love on, & I often watch my best friend‘s Doberman, Kodak - so I’m comfortable with big energetic dogs too! As a professional photographer, I’ve worked with many dogs during family sessions. That experience has helped me become patient, calm & confident around dogs of all sizes & personalities. Whether they’re tiny & shy or big & playful, I love them all! Your dog will be treated like family while they’re in my care 🤍 PHOTOGRAPHY ADD-ON: 10+ professional portraits of your pet during my visit :) $45 paid through cash or Venmo! As a self employed photographer, I have a very flexible schedule! I’m able to accommodate daytime visits, drop-ins, extended stays, & overnight house sitting. I can adjust my day around your pet’s routine to make sure they get the attention, care, & consistency they’re used to 🐾 My goal is to keep everything as close to their normal routine as possible! Feeding schedules, walk routines, & making sure your pet feels safe & comfortable in their own environment. I’m respectful of your space & will send regular photo & text updates so you always feel connected & reassured while you’re away.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Middleburg Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Middleburg Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Middleburg Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
