Danny did an amazing job taking care of our fur babies. We have two large Irish Wolfhounds and two pampered cats. He did not shy away from the challenge. The dogs loved him and enjoyed their long walks. Danny was great with communication… asked questions I didn’t even think about before we went out of town and communicated regularly with us with any questions that came up. Highly recommend him.

Monique was absolutely wonderful! She was quick to respond, went above and beyond taking care of our dogs and cat. She sent wonderful updates with photos each day. On top of all that she even watered my daughters little plants growing and left the house clean and welcoming for our return home. We feel more than comfortable using her again in the future.

About: I’ve lived with cats of my own my whole life. I have experience pet sitting dogs and cats since I was 8. I’ve always grown up around dogs and have a love for any and all pets! I am a full time student at Boise State University, but have a very flexible schedule that will allow me to care for your pets whenever is needed. In my home we have an open loving environment for our cat that has all the essentials needed for her to thrive. I can take care of your animal in any way that you prefer and that is fitting for them.

First time meeting Beverly was amazing. Our cat Bella is very shy. Bella came out while we were talking and was looking at Bev, taking it all in. It was such a comfort to have Bev here with Bella. I was more relaxed knowing Bella wasn't alone. The house was immaculate. Bella's bathroom was clean. Beverly is just a wonderful and caring woman. She is a keeper. My husband and I highly recommend Beverly.

Jen did a fabulous job taking care of our pets! I have dogs, cats, chickens, and goats. One of my pups is 17 years old and takes a couple of medications. Jen didn’t flinch at the work and she was very reasonable. The pets loved her and she kept us updated while we were away. Highly recommend!

About: I've become the go to friend for helping out watching all my friends pets when they go out of town! Haha it's been awesome, so I figured why not make some extra money doing it for others so here I am :D I love all pets and am grateful there's a platform that let's me do this! I know what it's like to not have a dog sitter when you need to go out of town and you don't want to board your pet, so I'd love to help out where I can. I have experience dog and house sitting and integrity is most important to me, so I will treat your pet and home like it's my own. I have a totally flexible schedule. I live in Boise and have a car, and can travel up to 30 miles. Maybe farther upon request. I can't have pets at my home, so if you're interested in having me help out it would have to be at your house. I have a lot of experience pet sitting and house sitting. I can water your plants too :) I will treat your home with love and respect.

Carrie did a fantastic job watching our two dogs and I would highly recommend her! She went above and beyond to take care of our boys and make us feel at ease while we were gone. She sent multiple pictures, provided us with consistent updates, and even left the house cleaner than it was before! We also had forgotten to update our address on the app, and upon her arrival at our old address, she drove to our new house willingly without a problem. I can’t say enough good things about Carrie-if you are looking for a pet sitter, look no further-she is #1!

Amanda took good care of Tally. Feel I need to mention a couple things. Something was baked in my oven that overflowed everywhere and is now baked on and not coming off even after a lot of scrubbing. Also something boiled over on one of the front burners and caused liquid to end up inside the glass on the oven door. I am a bit disappointed in these items.

About: I adore all kinds of animals, especially dogs and cats. I grew up with dogs of all sizes and I now have my own little family. I have a kitten named Duck Duck and a gecko named Gecki Gavito (legal name Larry) I work a 9-5 during the week but have open availability in the early morning, evenings, and weekends. I am also a full time college student so I have no problem hanging out with animals while I work! Looking after a pet in their own home is easier in my experience. The familiar environment puts them at ease and it's fun to play with their favorite toys and see what their routine is.

About: I have always had dogs and puppies throughout my life, and took an interest in animal care around 10 years old. I have experience with training and health-care for all ages. I have had jobs as a kennel attendant, and have volunteered with shelters for play/enrichment, and transportation to special vet trips requiring road trips to Emmett. Studied animal care during college, and have worked in healthcare for over 10 years. I am currently working a full time day job, but open to evenings and weekends. Looking forward to adding some fur baby visits to my routine. In your home, I'm more than happy to follow the rules and expectations. I am happy to play, walk, and make sure your baby feels happy, safe, and comfortable with me.

About: For more than 40 years, I’ve loved and cared for dogs and cats of my own. After my last Boxer passed away in 2022, I found a new way to share that love by caring for—and spoiling—the pets of others. I’ve provided excellent pet- and housesitting services on TrustedHousesitters in the Boise area for the past year, earning 20 five-star reviews. Many of my sits have been with repeat hosts, which reflects the trust and dependable care I provide. My experience includes dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, fish, reptiles, and even beetles. Before moving to Boise, I spent 14 years fostering dogs and providing pet-sitting services in the Atlanta area. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, routine, and comfort level, and I take the time to follow instructions carefully while providing plenty of attention, patience, playtime, and affection. For the past 20 years, I’ve worked as a project manager in the technology industry. As I transition into a more personally fulfilling career, I’m excited to devote more time to animals and give your pets the same thoughtful, reliable care I would want for my own. My goal is for every pet to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and thoroughly spoiled while you’re away. I currently work full-time as a pet sitter, so caring for pets is my primary focus. I’m able to organize my schedule around each client’s needs and your pet’s established routine. I’m available for drop-in visits, walks, exercise, playtime, feeding, and overnight stays. I offer flexible availability throughout the day and night, including 24/7 overnight care, and I’ll work with you to create a dependable schedule that helps your pet feel comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. I care for every pet as if they were my own, with a strong focus on safety, trust, and consistency. I carefully follow your instructions and make sure your pet’s individual needs, routines, feeding schedules, medications, and preferences are respected. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home, taking them on a walk, or enjoying outdoor exercise together, I remain attentive to their surroundings and comfort. I take safety precautions during every visit and activity so your pet can feel secure and relaxed in your absence. You can count on me to provide dependable, thoughtful care while treating your home and your pet with the same respect I would expect for my own.

FAQs for House Sitting - Owyhee

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 920 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Owyhee. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Owyhee walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Owyhee maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Owyhee choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Owyhee. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
