“Yuliya and her family did a great job of taking care of Koda for the weekend. I got regular updates and felt koda is being cared for…Thanks you Yuliya for take care of Koda”

“The meet and greet with Kayti went very well. My dog Eddy liked Kaysi's dog. She has a fenced in back yard also this put my mind at ease. While on Vacation Kayti sent pictures of Eddy, she was so good with him he is very active, her dog and Eddy are the same breed, she said they do the same things. Also she brought the dogs in on hot days to keep them cooled off. The 1st boarding was not good so Kayti picked up on Eddy's actions. She has her house set up for boarding dog. My Eddy came home healthy, that is the main think for me Thanks Kayti”

“Thomas and his wife are amazing at watching our girl, Star! They make Star feel right at home! We feel so fortunate to have someone we trust watch and love on our puppy!”

“Karlee was so patient with my nervous kitty! It was such a relief knowing he was somewhere safe, even if nervous. She gave him the affection/ pets he loves at his level of comfort. He got to be a bit spicy at the end of his visit, but that had nothing to do with her care. Thank you so much for watching him! The daily updates were so reassuring for me!”

“Meg did an amazing job watching Charlie, our shorkie who is 13 years old. We were worried Charlie would be nervous being away from us but he felt right at home with Meg. I will definitely book with Meg again the next time we need a dog sitter!”

“Nicole and her family are so kind and loving. They did such an amazing job watching Pepper when we were out of town. Nicole sent daily updates and photos, which were fun to see each day. I felt so comfortable knowing our pup was being well cared for and I was able to relax and enjoy our trip without worrying about her. Thank you so much, Nicole and family!!”

“We have left our dog with Alisha & Cameron on several occasions now. Rue absolutely adores going to their house and always comes home tuckered out, happy, and healthy! They are very attentive, experienced, and regularly send us pup updates during our trips. We cannot recommend them enough and will continue using their services for future travels!”

“Maria is the best! Our 12 yr old labradoodle has been with Maria for 2 week stays for the past several years. Maria sends us updates daily and is great at communicating. I know your dog is well taken care of and comes home happy everytime. I highly recommend Maria!”

“Kyle and his wife were very friendly and took great care of my Gracie. This was her first boarding experience and she was a bit of a nervous Nelly but they were wonderful with her.”

“Julie and Bryson were amazing sitters for our two dogs during our weekend trip!! They were extremely friendly, kind, and attentive to our needs. They were also very flexible and accommodating to our schedule. Our dogs seemed to have really enjoyed their home and family. We highly recommend them and will definitely be back!”

“Friendly and loving! We couldn’t be more pleased of the level of care Renee and Jim gave to our Nella Mae. Thank you to you both for accepting our holiday request. The meet and greet was a great idea and your home felt warm and welcoming. We loved the pictures and updates you sent. These small gestures made our vacation much more comfortable, knowing our baby was in good hands. We will certainly think of you again.”

“Lori and her family were wonderful hosts for our Great Dane Gretta! Through the week we received pictures and updates on Gretta's stay. Immediately we could tell she was welcomed in and was feeling right at home. We will definitely utilize Lori in the future and would highly recommend Lori if you need someone to trust with your puppy!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter than Shreya. She boarded our dog for a full week and treated him like family. She was attentive, patient, and very communicative, sending frequent updates and photos. Our dog came back relaxed and happy, which says everything. It’s clear she genuinely loves dogs. We will definitely use her services again and strongly recommend her.”

“We so appreciate Sara taking Toby. We're so happy we found her. She was able to help us out on short notice to take him. Sara took the time with Toby and sent updates everyday, you could tell he was very happy and comfortable at her house. We will definitely have Toby go there in the future. Thank You Sara!”

“We were very happy with Mochi's stay at Alicia and Simon's. They sent us pictures and videos and communicated with us the entire time we were gone. Mochi was so sad to leave their house and must have had fun because he has pretty much been sleeping since he got back!”

“Logan is great! We have had our pup stay with her on several occasions, and it’s always great. She is super responsive, always sends pictures and updates, and can handle our rather high energy pup, which we appreciate! I highly recommend.”

“I highly recommend Patricia and Patrick B.! I spent a lot of time searching for the right boarding for Ajax because he isn't kennel-trained and can be unpredictable with other dogs, so finding a safe, comfortable environment was my top priority. Patricia and Patrick were professional, incredibly welcoming, and their focus on safety put me at ease immediately. Ajax loved the place from the very first visit, and seeing how affectionate he was toward Patricia and Patrick when I picked him up spoke volumes about the care he received. There is no better way to show how much love they gave him—we will definitely be booking with them again!"”

“Promise and family took great care of my dog. She allowed my dog to get comfortable with her before introducing to dogs in her home. She sent video of them playing together . Thank you for looking out for my dog so carefully .”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
