“Dave is the best! Our Sam just loved him. He was extremely well cared for and honestly the peace of mind knowing your pup is in good hands just can’t be beat. It’s hard to leave your dog when you need to be out of town and I can assure anyone reading this review that your dog will be very well loved if Dave is taking care of them.”

“If you're looking for the best, no need to search any further. Leza did an amazing job watching Maxwell (our 12 year Labradoodle) for a full week. He has separation anxiety when we leave him anywhere, but didn't experience any of that with Leza. She honed in pretty quick on what his hot buttons were which were walks and of course his treats. There was some medication administration that she had no issues with doing. He was the same happy boy when we picked him up that he was when we dropped him off, which was a first for us. Thanks Leza, Maxwell had an awesome stay with you and is now his preferred stay provider.”

“Absolutely fantastic. Julie communicates throughout the whole experience and makes you feel at ease. Julie and her family went above and beyond to make sure the dogs were well taken care of. Everything was top notch. We have already booked Julie and her family again and feel so blessed to come across them (: thanks again Julie! HIGHLY RECOMMEND”

“Maria and her family were so wonderful to work with! My dog stayed with her for 10 days for his first stay and her communication was amazing. Pictures and updates each day! And so flexible with pick up and drop off times. Our plans changed a few times before the stay took place and then we had a delayed flight returning home, and she was happy to work with us and our changing schedule. Will totally use her services again!!”

“Such a delight to have Cassandra and her family watch our Louie. Excellent communication before and during his stay with them. Loved the photos and updates! Would have Louie stay with them again.”

“Patty and Patrick have been absolutely wonderful with Lola. Before her stay, I reached out to let them know that she was dealing with a CCL injury. They had no hesitation in taking her and immediately reassured me that they were comfortable providing the extra care and attention she needed with this injury (and her existing allergies). Throughout her stay, they truly doted on Lola, making sure she was comfortable, happy, and well cared for. What stands out most is how genuinely concerned they are for her well-being. They always take special care of her and treat her as if she were their own. Knowing Lola is with Patty and Patrick gives ‘e tremendous peace of mind. Their kindness, compassion, and attentiveness are evident in everything they do.”

“I was placed in Minnesota for 6 months for work and was very lucky to find David and his family to watch my dog Rebel. David watched Rebel at least once per month during my time in MN. David is an extremely reliable and experienced dog owner and sitter. My pup Rebel loved staying at David's as there is a fenced in yard and always company for him to socialize with. I've never worried a bit while I was gone on travel and truly cannot stress how great David has been for myself and Rebel. ”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
