“Trudy is absolutely amazing! My furbaby is very shy especially with new people and has separation anxiety. Trudy was amazing with Stormy. She knew exactly what to do to help win him over and make him feel completely at ease and comfortable. She sent multiple daily updates which helped me be at ease and be able to enjoy my trip. Will most definitely rebook! Highly recommend for all kinds of dogs.”

“Shari and her family made our dog feel so at home during his stay! We appreciated the frequent updates and photos. We will definitely ask them to take care of our pup again in the future 😄”

“Maureen watched our 2 dogs while we were on vacation (7 nights) and treated them like they were her own. I really appreciated the ease of communication with her, her friendliness, and the amount of pictures she sent while we were gone. Our dogs came home exhausted and happy - we will absolutely use her in the future and recommend her to others.”

“Karen and her family were great! Maisy was treated like part of their family. She had space to run and play outside and inside she looked very comfortable. Lots of pictures and videos were shared. Thanks for the great care Maisy received!”

“Mochi has the best time at Alicia and Simon's! They send us daily pictures/videos/ and updates. When Mochi comes home he is always exhausted and sleeps for 2 days!!!”

“Lori was amazing! She made Nipsey feel like a part of the family! She updated me everyday and sent pictures of Nipsey. Nipsey definitely enjoyed himself and we will most certainly book her again!”

“We had a very successful experience finding Tanya through Rover, she made our first time leaving our dog easy as she is very comfortable and welcoming to him. It was a good experience for our dog and we will use her again in the future.”

About: I've been caring for animals since I was in 6th grade when I'd regularly animal sit for one of my neighbor's Bernese Mountain Dog, 3 cats, and 2 bunnies. Since then, I've become a dog trainer and can deal with a wide variety of dogs, including dogs with additional care needs. I'm an AKC evaluator and I spend my free time competing with my dogs in a variety of sports! I take special care and pride in the animals I care for. I believe that a well exercised pet is going to be an easier companion and leads to a much happier family life. I have 3.5 acres for your pet to romp around. This will include things like loose leash walking, distraction training, and more. Mental stimulation will tire your dog out faster than physical stimulation so this exciting mixture will leave you with a very happy pup! Of course, if you prefer no training, I'm happy to go along with what you prefer! Lastly, I try my best to create the best relationship with the animals I care for. This means I want your furry friend to love me as much as I love them. I prefer to meet your pet and at least one owner of your pet before continuing into a service. This isn't a requirement, but a strong preference. Especially for extended stays. I work hybrid so I spend 50% of business days working from home. On the weekends, I don't have to go in-office. My entire life revolves around my dogs and adding your pet into our routine will be an easy transition! I have an unfenced yard on 3.5 acres. I have 5 of my own dogs. My dogs will crate and rotate indoors with your pet depending on their needs. I prioritize putting dogs together that I'm confident will get along. All of my dogs are friendly and play together easily. I can also put your dog on a separate schedule so they're not interacting with any other pets during their stay.

“Kelsey has great communication and I got sooo many photo updates over the weekend. I could tell my pup was quite spoiled with love while he was there and appreciated having two other pups around. We already have a longer stay tentatively planned because we liked her so much. Thanks for loving Marshall like your own, Kelsey! 😊”

About: My love for animals goes well back to when I was 4 or 5 and I was in charge of letting our neighbors dog out while they were on vk. (my mom was really there ;)) I always loved the 2 cats we had I'm sure but my love started growing for all animals when I took on that letting the neighbors pets out. Through highschool I volunteered when I could at the animal shelter a couple cities over and dreamed about owning my own training and boarding facility when I graduated. Well life pushed me into college and a career and 10 plus years later here I am with a degree I don't want a career in.... I'm going back to my dreams and would love for your dogs to be a part of the start of it! I have 3 fur babies of my own a cat and two dogs! All three rescues and loving life! Any questions feel free to reach out! Cant wait to meet everyone! I currently work Monday through Friday 8 to 5 as an intake coordinator for a hospital from home. My love is animals so all my spare time goes to fostering and volunteering for ruffstart along with taking care of others furbabies. All pets deserve lots of love but discipline when needed. I believe in positive reinforcement but some pups need a little more guidance and a shorter leash than others.. I plan on following owners directions and requests but offer guidance if wanted or needed. If all you want me to do is let your fur babies out and spoil them rotten I would absolutely love doing that! For boarding and doggy daycare I have an older resident dog so we can only take laid back submissive dogs for now. We do habe the capability to separate if she needs a break. We have a big Shepard mix that loves to play with everyone at only 3 years old!
“This was my first time using River and I had a great experience with Julie and her family. They were very kind to keep my Isabella at a last minute decision I made to go to the Bad Omens concert. They kept me informed about her sending me photos and letting me know what she had been doing. I would use them again. Thank you so much Julie and your family for taking care of mine.”

“Wesley was fantastic with our dog while for four nights of boarding. He was exceptionally good at communicating, sending updaters with photos, and making us feel at ease even though we hadn’t worked with Wesley before. It was so lovely to pick our pup up from Wesley where he was smiling and clearly well cared for! We will definitely ask Wesley to help again in the future.”

“Our pups had a great time! Great communication and we felt so comfortable leaving our pups in their care! We would definitely board with Emily and Kajae again! Thanks so much for the care you provided our fur babies!!”

“Renee and James are great people and took the best care of our Golden Retriever. They aked us thoughtful questions upfront to ensure they understood our dog's needs so they could deliver the best possible care. They also sent us regular updates and pictures. We could not have asked for a better experience.”

“It is the third time Amanda watches Pierce for us! She always send pictures of him, keep us posted on he is doing. Definitely recommend her for taking care of your dog! Thank you again Amanda!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Big Lake
Amy was amazing with my puppies! We had to go on an extended vacation and Amy was available. We set up a meat and greet and found she was very experienced with taking care of animals and was a very good fit for our puppies. She also has a fenced-in yard. Throughout our vacation she kept in contact sending us pictures, videos and updates on the puppies. We were very confident that they were left in good hands. I would highly recommend Amy to anyone and hope to also use her services in the future.

Karlee did a good job with my 3 dogs. My small senior needs extra care and is needy due to his age and aches and pains. Karlee did a good job keeping me informed on what was going on with the dogs and sending pictures. I appreciate the care and extra work she did to watch my senior dog and othee two pups.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
