About: Hi! My name is Tenaya and I'm currently a graduate student at UC Davis. I grew up around animals and now I have a cat named Gnocchi. I worked as a veterinary assistant for three years, so I'm comfortable with animals of all ages and I'm capable of administering medications. I also have experience taking care of a range of exotic animals from working at an animal sanctuary. As a student, I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule! I can usually create availability during the day, depending on your pet's needs. As someone who has worked with animals for several years, I understand that each pet is unique and may require special care and attention. I really love animals and will do my best to care for your pet as you would!

About: Animals have been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember. Raised on a farm and on a pre-vet track from a young age, I’ve spent decades caring for animals of all kinds—from house pets to livestock to wildlife. Starting at 14, I volunteered in local vet clinics and wildlife rehab centers, gaining hands-on experience with everything from cats and dogs to peacocks, horses, goats, snakes, fish, birds, and cattle. At UC Davis, I deepened my care skills while working at the world-renowned Vet Hospital, tending to cats and dogs during the swing shift. I also worked with campus goats, pigs, sheep, fish, cattle, and horses—and even fostered cats for the hospital. Now in my 30s, I’m an education professional and dedicated pet mom to both cats and dogs. I continue to care for friends’ and neighbors’ pets with the same compassion, attention, and responsibility that’s guided me my whole life. I’m certified in Infant, Child, and Adult CPR/AED/First Aid, and have emergency care experience with animals large and small. I’m calm under pressure, reliable, and always communicate clearly—your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I'm currently taking a break from teaching, and being a full-time stay-at-home mama to my 2.5 year old daughter. I have plenty of time to care for your furry family member. Please note that at this time, we are seeking families whose pets are comfortable around toddlers and children. I have a fully fenced yard, and a park just around the corner from my house for those whose furry friends enjoy a stretch, walk, or playtime! I am comfortable using a crate, and we have plenty of floor room in the house (carpet and laminate) for them to lay down if they're not crate trained. We do not allow dogs on the furniture. Cats are allowed to wander the house. We are more than happy to put up child gates to keep your furry family member in certain areas of the house if they're prone to getting into things (such as stuffed animals for the kiddos... I mean really, a lot of doggie toys these days look so similar! I'd understand the misconception. lol) We're not afraid to be firm but kind if your family member needs set boundaries.

About: Hello, I'm Valerie! I am a devoted pet enthusiast with 7 years of hands-on experience at home and local pet rescues. During my time there, I took on a variety of responsibilities including feeding, walking, bating, playing, and even training pets occasionally. Whether it's ensuring their daily needs are met or handling more specialized care, I've got it covered. With a background of vet intern, I am also comfortable with administering medications. As a lifelong pet owner, I understand the importance of creating a safe and loving environment. I am thrilled and look forward to brining my skills to your pets! I am currently working a part-time job, which gives me great flexibility to care for your pets! I usually only work a couple hours in the afternoon, so I have time in the morning, early afternoon, and night! I want to ensure that you, your pet, and I are a perfect match. My approach begins with a sit-down session to understand your pet's routine, preferences, and your expectations. I believe open communication is key, so if any questions or concerns arise, I'll reach out immediately. I understand that entrusting someone with you beloved pet can be anxiety-inducing, and I'm here to alleviate that stress. I'll keep you connected through regular updates, whether that's sending pictures of your furry friend or providing text updates. Rest assured, I'm dedicated to creating a comfortable and happy experience for your pet while giving you peace of mind.

“Kira did a great job of taking care of our cat Juno. She was very communicative, and we got updates about Juno every day. We really appreciate the attention and care she showed Juno. When we got home our cat was happy!”

About: I grew up in multi dog homes with large and small breeds (a Lab, a Weimie, a GSP, and 2 frenchies). I have PLENTY of experience walking, feeding, playing, cleaning up after, and interpreting body language of dogs. I’ve taken care of dogs in every life stage including puppies and seniors. Having a dog of my own hasn’t been feasible since moving to Davis for various reasons but I miss having furry companions! I’ve been getting my fix by walking and sitting for my friends and coworkers as well as volunteering with the “Barks and Rec” program at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter. An awesome program where shelter dogs get some much needed time out of the shelter and in front of potential adopters. The German Shepherd (named Dexter) in my profile picture was my last dog through the program and we had a lovely time walking along the American River. I work full time as a researcher in the agricultural biotech space. My hours are a bit flexible but usually hover around the 9am-4pm range. On weekdays, I’d be available for drop in visits/walks in the morning before work and in the afternoons after work. If necessary, a lunchtime visit may be feasible. Weekends are very flexible! You know your pet best! I’m most comfortable following your tried and true routines and rules so you and your pup can feel comfortable and at ease knowing I’m caring for them exactly as you would.

About: I’ve lived with cats and dogs my whole life, so I’m great with them. I know how to handle bigger dogs since I’ve grown up with aussies! I currently work a part time job, so I have a lot of time to dedicate to your animals! I’m free most weekends as well :) I’ll keep an eye on your animals to make sure they aren’t stirring up trouble while I’m there. I’m also not afraid to get a scratch or two from a cat!

About: I have been taking care of pets for as long as I can remember. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats of my own, and also work at Pet Food Express:) I would love to spend my free time taking care/walking you're animal. I have a job but have lots of free time before and after work! Also on my days off I have a lot of free time! I have a lot of experience with crate training, dog walking, special diets, giving meds, and much more!! I treat my own animals with great care and love and would treat your's the same!

About: I love animals of all types! My first pet sitting experience was at the age of 10 with a very sweet German Shephard, Storm. Over the years I've connected with many a canine, feline, and on occasion, equine family members. It's an honor to be trusted by you, and more importantly your four legged companion to care for them while you're away. I'm comfortable caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes and levels of energy. You'll see many pictures of me and my late pup Jude. I had the pleasure of being his parent all 15years he roamed this earth. From potty training, behavior training, grooming and senior care. I've done it all. I work full time and take long lunch breaks, which affords me time to take care of myself as well as spend time with and/or walk your fur baby. I'm available on the weekends for extended visits or walks. In the evening I'm able to do the same. I live on the 5th floor in a small apartment. If I am boarding your animals overnight, it will need to be in your home. Whatever accommodations your home has for your pet, I'll happily utilize them to ensure their comfort.

“We felt so calm knowing that our pets were safe with Sterling while we were away! She has such a warm presence with animals from the first time she was introduced to our pets. She made sure to keep us updated and send pictures during her visits! Thank you Sterling, we can’t wait to book you again soon!”

About: Hi pet parents! I know how stressful it can be to leave your furry (or feathery, scaly, or hoofed!) family members behind. My goal is to give you peace of mind while making sure your pets feel safe, happy, and loved. I have over 7 years of experience working in critical care in ER and ICU settings, most recently at the UC Davis Veterinary Teaching Hospital, the #1 vet school in the country. I’m Fear Free Certified, CPR certified, and comfortable caring for pets of all ages with special needs or medical conditions. Beyond my professional life, I’ve shared my home with all kinds of animals, including chickens, dogs, cats, tortoises, and even farm animals, so I understand how much each pet’s unique personality matters. Whether your pet needs playtime, cuddles, medication, or just someone patient and gentle, I can help! Their happiness and safety will always be my top priority! I am currently a full time graduate school, on the track to veterinary school. My days mostly involve much studying but that also leaves me plenty of time to commit to caring for your best friend. Of course, caring for every pet is unique. I will work with you and your pet's usual schedule to ensure their needs and yours are being met to perfection! I also require that I am left with a detailed document outlining your pet's medical history, preferred veterinary ER, medical insurance information, emergency care cost approval, and at least 2 emergency contacts if I am unable to reach you. All of which is to ensure that I am best equip with the tools to get your pet the help they need as soon as possibly if an emergency should arise.

“Zia has years of experience caring for a wide range of animals. As an undergraduate of UCD, she helped care for domestic and farm animals, in the hospital and on the farm including cats, dogs, cows, sheep, goats and many other species too numerous to list here. She is trustworthy, knowledgeable and will provide safe, loving care for your beloved pet as she has over the years for our pets. I write this testimonial on her behalf without reservation.”

Valerie N.
“Valerie has been walking my dogs for a few years now and she has been such a delight. She is incredibly responsible and helpful. My two dogs can be such a hassle but Valerie is patient and cares for them as if they were her own. The most reliable dog walker/dog sitter I know. It’s been a pleasure having her care for my dogs.”

Ashley B.
“Ashley was very patient and responsible with my active and anxious lab, Mangus. She is always punctual and has a positive attitude, and he loves going on long walks with her!”

Kristina N.
“Kristina herself cares for her families four cats and two elderly Australian shepherds. She also has helped foster kittens, sometimes bottle feeders, for the local animal shelter for approximately 5 years. What makes Kristina an awesome human is that she is very compassionate. She is also very responsible, smart and reliable. She has always had pets in her life and has a lot of experience.”

Adele R.
“Adele is truly the only person I trust to care for my pets when I’m away. She’s looked after my two girls, Thalia and Calliope, with so much love and attention—it’s like I never even left. She’s also helped care for my roommate’s cat, Kona, and two sweet Golden Retrievers, Honey and Ino, treating each of them like her own. When my parents needed someone to watch their six cats—Garfield, Lucas, Soji, Toulouse, Shadow, and Louise—Adele stepped up without hesitation and handled everything with ease. She’s patient, reliable, and always goes the extra mile. You can tell she genuinely loves animals, and they love her right back.”

Ly I.
“Ly is more passionate about animals than anyone I’ve ever met, in addition to being an incredibly kind, reliable and responsible person. She is also an experienced and highly skilled veterinary technician (and aspiring veterinarian) and is able to help with many medical needs or concerns. Ly genuinely loves every animal she comes across and makes a point to get to know them, and she will do the same for your pet. She has watched my cat for me many times, always going out of her way to play and cuddle with her and send me photos/regular updates. With Ly, you can expect that not only the basics like food, water, litter, and medication needs are met, but also the extras that make a pet sitter exceptional: she will make sure your pet feels loved and safe while you are away and help ease the anxiety of being apart from your pet. Simply put, there is no one I’d rather have watch my pets than Ly.”
