About: I’ve previously worked for another pet service where I took dogs on walks and did drop-in visits. I also have some experience with cats, but I have a 5-year old dog myself. I have experience taking care of elderly dogs as I dog sat for a family friend for a few months and stayed the night at their house once a week. I would take the dog for walks, spend time with him and give him any medication he needed. I love animals and it doesn’t feel like work to take care of them for me. I am a teacher, so I am free during school breaks and on weekends. When I am not working full-time at school, pet care will be my first priority. I will listen to any requests made by the pet owner for what they want me to do, such as letting them out in a fenced backyard or keeping them on a leash. I also have experience crate training my dog and find that can be a safe place for dogs too.

About: As a lifelong animal lover, I provide dependable, compassionate care for pets as if they were my own. Whether you need pet sitting, drop-in visits, walks, or care in my home or yours, my goal is to ensure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I have over 30 years of experience in the medical field, which has given me a strong foundation in caregiving, attention to detail, and recognizing the needs of others—including our furry family members. In addition to general pet care, I have experience providing gentle pet massage for senior pets and those recovering from injuries. Our family includes a friendly Goldendoodle and a tabby cat, and we have a secure fenced yard where dogs can safely play and explore. Throughout my life, I have cared for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, and even a beloved pet duck who was part of my family for many years. I am comfortable caring for pets of all ages, from energetic puppies and kittens to senior pets requiring extra patience and attention. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your beloved companion, and I strive to provide the same love, care, and attention that they receive at home. Whether you’re at work, traveling, or simply need an extra helping hand, you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are in caring and capable hands. Special Care Please let me know in advance if your pet has any special needs, requires medication, has mobility challenges, or needs individualized care. I am happy to work with you to ensure your pet receives the attention and support they deserve. “Providing loving care, personalized attention, and peace of mind for you and your pets.” I am available for your pet's needs while you are at work or play. I am here to care for your furry loved ones, and put your mind at ease. Pet care is my passion and a priority. It’s what I do full time. I have a fenced yard for safety. “Paige was a fantastic sitter, was able to do everything we asked, so gracious and patient when I completely forgot to leave instructions for administering medication. We got plenty of photos so we knew our babies were happy and cared for. 10/10 stars will book again!”

“Julia was amazing!! We left for 10 days for our honeymoon. She took great care of my two cats exactly as I had asked. She even took out the trash and swept the litter on the floor. I truly felt like my cats were in great hands which made me enjoy my trip more. She is very responsive and understanding of your needs. I highly recommend Julia!”

“D’Andre was a big help, came through last minute for me to take care of Rex while I was away for a trip. He was very nice to Rex, attentive and even took care of doggy spill Rex had. Super communicative during the visit and I’m glad I hired him and will hire him more in the future.”

“Amanda was an amazing sitter. She was able to follow all instructions for taking care of my pup. She also got along with my dog. She was very caring and attentive to my pup. Would highly recommend her!”

“Jordan took great care of Mona while I was away for several days. Mona can be sensitive to changes in routine, and Jordan was calm, patient, and very attentive in helping her feel comfortable. She was communicative, reliable, and made sure Mona’s routine stayed consistent, which gave me peace of mind while traveling. I appreciated how thoughtful she was in making sure Mona was well cared for and comfortable. Over the course of the visits, Mona became more relaxed and even playful, which really speaks to Jordan’s approach and attentiveness. Jordan is responsible, kind, and clearly cares about the animals she works with. I would absolutely recommend her and would gladly book with her again.”

“We had a short notice need for a sitter for “the girls”, Peaches & Reagan, and Emma and Trent responded promptly and were able to accommodate our schedule. It is so nice being able to count on someone and have “the girls” get so excited when they see them. Reagan for the extra attention and Peaches for an opportunity to get treats. LOL Dont hesitate if you need someone to watch your fur babies. They will be safe and and well taken care of. Thanks again Emma & Trent!”

“Reliable, friendly, kind, and took excellent care of our 2 cats and turtle. This was our first time using a pet sitter, and it couldn’t have been a more positive experience. Thank you, Nicole! 🐈🐢🐈⬛”

About: I have been surrounded by animals my entire life and have over 15 years of personal experience owning and caring for pets. As a lifelong cat owner who has raised four cats, I know exactly what it takes to keep felines happy, healthy, and comfortable. In addition to my own pets, I have years of experience pet-sitting for neighbors, handling everything from daily walks and feeding schedules to playtime and basic cleanup for dogs of various breeds and sizes. I treat every animal with the same level of love and responsibility as my own. My schedule allows me plenty of flexibility to dedicate high-quality time to your pets. I am available for weekend boarding and house sitting, and my weekdays are wide open for afternoon and evening visits, walks, or check-ins. Because I can manage my time effectively, your pet will never have to wait long for a bathroom break, a fresh meal, or some energetic playtime. Safety is my absolute highest priority when watching a pet. I maintain a highly organized, safe, and clean living space where animals can relax without stress. When caring for pets in your home, I strictly follow all security protocols, ensure doors and gates are fully secured, and strictly adhere to your specific rules regarding crating, feeding, and leash safety during walks. You can expect regular photo updates so you always know your fur baby is safe and thriving.

About: Since I was 4 years old we had dogs at home, a boxer mix and a poodle. Later on when I was 15 my mom got a pug, and then another one while my sister got a big pit mix with special needs. And 7 years ago I adopted a dog of my own, a 60lb hound mix, who's the light of my day. I've walked all the dogs in my family, and taken care of them when needed. With my own dog, I do everything for him, from baths, playtime, walks, roadtrips, cuddle and I love him, his medical care is up to date and I always make sure he's happy and healthy. I've also watched over friends dogs and cats, and follow all the rules I've been given, every dog ans cat is different and unique and deserves the same respect and care. I am available weekdays after 5:30pm (except for Tuesdays) Weekends I'm usually available, I can be flexible with my plans. I do update my schedule regularly. I cannot dog sit in my home. But I will love to walk your dog(s) in your neighborhood, take them on a hike, take them on drives, as well as staying over for a few hours. I'll follow your rules with no problem and I'll give my outmust attention, respect and love to your dog(s). Meet and greets would be preferable. As well as letting me know of any health or behavioral concerns your dog(s) might have so I can give individualized care.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Old Field. On Rover:

- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
