Melissa and her partner Stephen were very patient when meeting my anxious dogs. They allowed both dogs their own space and time to acclimate to them in a way that made me feel very comfortable leaving them with them for a drop in visit in preparation for a potential long term sit.

About: I have hands-on experience working with animals through both therapy dog work and my previous experience as an assistant to a veterinary technician. This has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, health, and how to handle pets with care, patience, and confidence. I’m comfortable supporting pets with different needs and always focus on making them feel safe, calm, and well cared for. Working from home allows me to be a consistent, calming presence for your pet throughout the day whether at my home or yours. I truly enjoy spending that time with them—whether it’s going on walks, giving them attention, or just being nearby so they don’t feel alone. I know every pet is different, so I follow their lead and make sure they feel comfortable and secure, whether they’re full of energy or prefer a more relaxed, quiet routine. I keep your pet’s routine consistent while providing attentive care, companionship, and a calm presence. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or quiet time, I adapt to their needs and make sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I am also a photographer which could lead to getting some great photos while you are away!

It was so great to have Chelsea visit and hang out with our dog Sunny. We appreciated her flexibility to schedule a meet-and-greet and book our drop-in visit all on short notice. She is quick to respond, takes great pictures, and had such a great interaction with my dog when they met. I would definitely book Chelsea again.

About: Hello & welcome, my name is Apryl. As a lifetime animal lover & pet parent my focus is caring for animal(s) with love & respect. I specialize in 1 on 1 care (I only take multiple pet guests when they are from the same household) Currently, I am a hound mom to a 6 yr old Retired racing Greyhound, Issac Newton. Whatever your pet loves: walks, quiet cuddles or anything in between, I pride myself on connecting to your beloved companion on their level. I shower my pet clients with love at every opportunity! My entire routine focuses on petcare first. I am an artist/energy therapist and spend my days with the animals in my care. I am avaliable for boarding, walks & playdates 7 days/week. When boarding a pet in my home I have a Pawsguest room which is a playroom & bedroom with room for your pet's bed, crate or both. About: I’ve previously worked for another pet service where I took dogs on walks and did drop-in visits. I also have some experience with cats, but I have a 5-year old dog myself. I have experience taking care of elderly dogs as I dog sat for a family friend for a few months and stayed the night at their house once a week. I would take the dog for walks, spend time with him and give him any medication he needed. I love animals and it doesn’t feel like work to take care of them for me. I am a teacher, so I am free during school breaks and on weekends. When I am not working full-time at school, pet care will be my first priority. I will listen to any requests made by the pet owner for what they want me to do, such as letting them out in a fenced backyard or keeping them on a leash. I also have experience crate training my dog and find that can be a safe place for dogs too.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 20, I help out friends who need me to take care of their dogs for a whole week, visiting twice a week, and making sure they are entertained, go on walks, and get their playtime in, as well as lots of love😌 I currently work part-time, so I have plenty of time to take care of people’s animals when needed! I grew up with cats and dogs so I have plenty of knowledge as to proper daily routines for animals I will always reach out to you if I have questions, I make sure that the house is safe, inside and outside, and whenever dogs go out, I usually put them on a leash if they are in an apartment and stay out with them if they live in a house

About: Extensive experience as a medical professional in the veterinary world, medicating, treating, and working with all sorts of creatures! Looking forward to serving my community in a greater capacity. Extremely flexible schedule with room to grow. Weekends are filled with walks, boarding, and drop ins, weekdays are mostly filled with drop ins. Available daily and can’t wait to send you photos of your pets and I having a blast. Our dogs, cats, and birds all enjoy the spoils of being our only kids. My husband and I would do anything for our fur children and continue to get creative and landscape, furnish, and construct the best ways to keep our babies happy and healthy.

Christine was fabulous. She was conscientious and took great care of our cat. She is the first cat sitter we’ve booked (of 2-3 Rover sitters) who has actually come at exactly the time we asked her, consistently. Beyond that, when our travel plans had to change because of airline problems, Christine kindly agreed to extend the booking - even though it was the holidays and I’m sure she had other obligations.

About: I bring years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, and temperaments—including puppies, high-energy dogs, senior pets, and shy or special-needs cats. I’m comfortable with administering medications (oral, topical, and injections), caring for pets with anxiety, and supporting senior animals with mobility issues or extra comfort needs. What sets me apart is my calm, attentive nature and my ability to quickly bond with animals. I tailor each visit to fit your pet’s unique personality—whether that means structured play and training for a puppy, slow walks and joint care for a senior dog, or quiet companionship for a sensitive cat. I’m also a bit of a neat freak, so I make sure litter boxes, food bowls, and pet spaces stay fresh and clean. I care for your pets like they’re family—because that’s exactly how they deserve to be treated. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine—I build my schedule around the needs of the fur babies I care for. Whether it’s morning feedings, midday playtime, or evening check-ins, I’m flexible and dependable. I prioritize consistency and create a calm, familiar environment for each pet, making sure they feel secure even when their humans are away. Whether it’s a short visit or an extended stay, I’m fully present and committed to giving your pets the care and attention they deserve every single day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, safety, trust, and respect are my top priorities. I follow all care instructions to the letter, from feeding schedules and medication needs to favorite toys and hiding spots. I make sure doors, windows, and food storage are secure, and I’m mindful of any hazards specific to your home or your pets behavior. I treat your space with the same respect I’d want for my own—clean, tidy, and exactly as you left it. I also provide regular updates with photos or messages, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are safe, happy, and in loving hands.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,456 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Miller Place. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Miller Place. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
