Elaine has completed 3 drop-in visits for our senior dog. We’re very pleased with her reliability and compassionate care of our dog. When my husband and I are both working, having someone take care of her midday is reassuring. Getting updates and pictures is also nice. We would definitely recommend her.

About: Animals have been a part of my life since childhood, and I'm surrounded by them every day. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, horses, goats, rats and more. Every dog I've owned has been personally trained by me, giving me hands-on experience with behavior, structure, and individualized care. I live on a small farm and work from home, so I'm available throughout the day for animal's needs. Caring for horses, dogs, and cats is already a part of my daily routine, making pet care a natural part of my lifestyle. I have a fully fenced yard and two friendly dogs that can provide companionship for social dogs. I'm experienced in safely managing separate spaces if a dog prefers to be alone of is not dog-friendly, ensuring every pet gets plenty of personalized care, attention, and outdoor time.

About: With a lifetime of experience living with dogs, I am confident around them. I own two medium large dogs that love their lifestyle. "Wow, he/she doesn't usually like men!" is something I've heard a lot from people when I meet their dog. It takes patience to learn a dog's communication style, but when they feel understood they do everything they can to express themselves. When they feel comfortable with my ability to successfully communicate they trust me. I've dog sat for friends, but this time in my life I can do more. I'm mostly finished with professional career life. I'm writing the great American novel instead now. I walk my dogs twice a day and go on hikes on weekends where they're allowed. Dogs are the secret to a peaceful mind. Respectful of space and privacy, I'm here for your dogs because I have dogs. I'd want someone who cares about dogs to care for mine when I'm not there.

About: With over 9 years of pet sitting experience, I bring a strong passion for animal care to every home I go. I was raised around a variety of animals—including chickens, rabbits, cats, and dogs—and developed a strong understanding of their unique needs from an early age. My goal is to provide reliable, compassionate, and attentive care when watching your pets, as I would want someone to do the same with mine. Pet care works great for my schedule because I work in a school during the months of September-May, Allowing me to be home by 3 PM, and I am off on the weekends. Starting in June, I have full availability to watch your pet throughout the day, which is great for when families would like to go on summer vacations, or need someone to check on their pet often. Depending on the service requested, I will always take your dog for a long walk. I love going for a walks, so having a furry friend be able to join me is amazing. If this is an overnight visit, besides playtime every few hours, there will be at least two long walks every day. Feeding will be done at normal breakfast and dinner time unless there is a specific schedule. I am also an online college student so being home with your pet while taking classes will be no problem if they require a little bit more attention.

About: I am an experienced, caring, mature dog walker who has been a life-long dog, animal, and nature lover. I am a professional ecologist and life coach who works mainly from home, allowing me to be available for dog walking. I have a lifetime of experience with dogs. As a child, my family used to breed labrador retrievers; now we have corgis. Love them! If you want someone dependable and smart who will love your dog while you're away or at work, I'm your person. My family has lived in the area for many years. I am available weekdays and most weekends as needed. Your dog will be in good hands. I'll feed your cats too. Looking forward to meeting you and your pets! Thank you for your consideration. I am a semi-retired ecologist and conservationist who manages a non-profit organization from home, so I am usually nearby and readily available. I was raised in a family that bred Labrador Retrievers and have always lived with dogs and cats (and lost of other critters). I currently have three corgis - two Pembroke Welsh and one American (Pembroke and Cardigan). I have a fenced yard and can care for gentle, corgi and child friendly pups. Most of my work is at client's homes. I'll make sure gates are closed and yards are safe and fresh water is available. I pay attention to weather conditions, accommodating for rain, hot, or cold weather. I pay attention to my surroundings on walks and in the yard to keep your pup safe.

About: I bring years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, and temperaments—including puppies, high-energy dogs, senior pets, and shy or special-needs cats. I’m comfortable with administering medications (oral, topical, and injections), caring for pets with anxiety, and supporting senior animals with mobility issues or extra comfort needs. What sets me apart is my calm, attentive nature and my ability to quickly bond with animals. I tailor each visit to fit your pet’s unique personality—whether that means structured play and training for a puppy, slow walks and joint care for a senior dog, or quiet companionship for a sensitive cat. I’m also a bit of a neat freak, so I make sure litter boxes, food bowls, and pet spaces stay fresh and clean. I care for your pets like they’re family—because that’s exactly how they deserve to be treated. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine—I build my schedule around the needs of the fur babies I care for. Whether it’s morning feedings, midday playtime, or evening check-ins, I’m flexible and dependable. I prioritize consistency and create a calm, familiar environment for each pet, making sure they feel secure even when their humans are away. Whether it’s a short visit or an extended stay, I’m fully present and committed to giving your pets the care and attention they deserve every single day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, safety, trust, and respect are my top priorities. I follow all care instructions to the letter, from feeding schedules and medication needs to favorite toys and hiding spots. I make sure doors, windows, and food storage are secure, and I’m mindful of any hazards specific to your home or your pets behavior. I treat your space with the same respect I’d want for my own—clean, tidy, and exactly as you left it. I also provide regular updates with photos or messages, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are safe, happy, and in loving hands.

About: I am a public school teacher so I am available Monday-Friday after 3pm and weekends/holidays. I have loved animals since I was a small child and have owned dogs and cats ever since. I have experience taking care of older animals and giving medications and special dietary restrictions. Pets are our family and I will treat all animals with the love and care they deserve since they give us humans more than we could ever hope for. I will send you pictures/videos if you are missing your pets and keep in close contact via text with updates as well. I have always wanted to help animals and I thought this is a good way to start! All of my fur babies are rescue animals and if we could we would adopt them all! I look forward to lending a paw to you and your fur babies! I am a school teacher so I am mainly available weekdays after 3:00pm and all day most weekends. I am also available during school breaks/vacations such as December break, February break and very available in the summer months July and August. We have a fenced in yard on an acre of property and a dog who loves to play with other dogs. We have plenty of outside toys for enrichment too! My husband and I both work full time jobs and are currently available for drop-ins and dog walking services. I am a teacher and am available most days after 3:00pm Monday-Friday and am more available on the weekends. Once we buy a house we are hoping to upgrade our services to be boarding services in our home. Once we buy a house, we are hoping to offer boarding services where we can host your pets in our home. We have one dog and two cats currently. We would keep the dogs and cats separated from each other and make sure to have a meet and greet with the dogs so that we know they will play well and get along well beforehand. I am a public school teacher. My availability is Monday-Friday after 3pm and weekends/holidays. Send me a message and I’ll see what I can do! I believe play time is important for pets. I’d love to throw a tennis ball for your dog or twirl a mouse on a stick for your cats in addition to the usual feeding them, letting them out to use the bathroom.

About: I’ve been around dogs for basically my whole life and I’ve always loved animals. I’ve been taking care of my own pets- walking, feeding, bathing, training, etc- for as long as I can remember. More recently I’ve taken care of friends pets while their owners are away- including dogs, cats, and a bunny. In these instances I was responsible for checking in on the pets a few times a day to feed them, let them outside, refill water, and give them lots of love and attention. I have also volunteered to dog walk at a few local shelters. I’m currently home from college for the summer and I have a lot of free time. I have a few short trips that are blocked out on my calendar and should be available otherwise. When walking dogs I try to always be aware of my surroundings and be on the lookout for cars, other dogs, or wild animals. My own dog can be a bit sneaky and is a big chewer so I know how important it is to be vigilant when watching dogs. I’ve also had a reactive dog in the past so I’m confident in my abilities to distract and remove a dog from a hostile situation. I’m always interested in learning more about proper pet care and have spent time researching pet safe foods and activities for my own pets. My goal is always to give a pet the best care possible.

I cannot express how grateful and delighted I am to have found Ioanna as my dog walker! From day one, she has gone above and beyond in taking care of my beloved fur baby. And a quiet recently added fur baby. Every time Waffles and Rain goes out with Ioanna, they come back happy and content, clearly having had a wonderful time on their adventures. What truly sets her apart is the genuine love and affection displayed towards my pups and the attention to detail in her service. During days of care, Ioanna ensured that Waffles and Rain always had plenty of water and a comfortable, place to rest. On rainy days, we could always count on high spirits and excellent care, never once cancelling due to weather. Moreover, her flexibility and reliability are commendable, accommodating any last-minute schedule changes with a smile. In addition to providing outstanding walks, Ioanna goes the extra mile, sending updates and adorable pictures from the walk and fun times during visits, which always brighten my day. It's comforting to know my pups are in such capable and caring hands. I wholeheartedly recommend Ioanna to anyone in need of a trustworthy and exceptional dog walker. Thanks to her, not only are Waffles and Rain healthier and happier, but we have found peace of mind knowing they’re in such wonderful care. Thank you, Ioanna, for being such a fantastic and compassionate friend to my beloved pups. I’m so lucky to have you!

We are so grateful to have found Sarah! Our cat is notoriously picky about people and can be a little… let’s say selective with her affection. Despite that, Sarah was incredibly patient, gentle, and respectful of her space. We received photo updates every visit, and it was clear she was calm, comfortable, and well cared for.

About: I've always been such a huge animal lover and always took care of my own cats, dogs, guinea pigs and birds. I used to watch my family members pets when they would go away and feed them per special instructions and stayed with them as long as I could so they were never lonely. I work full time now but I make my own schedule! I'll be able to be reliable and work around the needs of anyone's babies! In my clients home I always have respect and take care of not only the pets but the home and property when I'm there always.

About: Extensive experience as a medical professional in the veterinary world, medicating, treating, and working with all sorts of creatures! Looking forward to serving my community in a greater capacity. Extremely flexible schedule with room to grow. Weekends are filled with walks, boarding, and drop ins, weekdays are mostly filled with drop ins. Available daily and can’t wait to send you photos of your pets and I having a blast. FAQs for Drop-In Visits - East Shoreham

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of June 2026, there are 37 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across East Shoreham. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
