“Fantastic care for unusual animals. Amanda was so diligent with the feeding needs of my turtle. She even volunteered a lettuce leaf as a snack. She took great care of the fish without overfeeding and provided medical care for one of them. Then she very kindly agreed to water my plants. Pictures and videos everyday. Lots of communication. I will absolutely use her again and you should too. If she does this well with a turtle, imagine how great you'll be with your cats and dogs.”

“I’m so grateful to Stephanie for helping us out on such short notice and am very happy with the level of service I received. I felt like I was in very good hands. I will definitely be calling her again! Thank you!”

About: I have hands-on experience working with animals through both therapy dog work and my previous experience as an assistant to a veterinary technician. This has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, health, and how to handle pets with care, patience, and confidence. I’m comfortable supporting pets with different needs and always focus on making them feel safe, calm, and well cared for. Working from home allows me to be a consistent, calming presence for your pet throughout the day whether at my home or yours. I truly enjoy spending that time with them—whether it’s going on walks, giving them attention, or just being nearby so they don’t feel alone. I know every pet is different, so I follow their lead and make sure they feel comfortable and secure, whether they’re full of energy or prefer a more relaxed, quiet routine. I keep your pet’s routine consistent while providing attentive care, companionship, and a calm presence. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or quiet time, I adapt to their needs and make sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I am also a photographer which could lead to getting some great photos while you are away!
About: Hi, I’m Sara, and I’ve always had a strong passion for animals. I grew up in a family that has always had pets. Right now, I have two dogs and four cats. I went to Eastern Suffolk BOCES for my senior year and took the animal science program there, where I gained a lot more experience and knowledge in looking after cats and dogs, as well as other animals like guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, and more. After BOCES I moved on to the vet sci program ant SUNY Delhi where I learned a lot at a professional level but I ended up coming home because I decided I wanted to change my career path but I still love animals so much and still want to work with them, So I decided to do pet sitting or walking! Anytime we need any done for the pets I get it done. My pets are very spoiled, and my favorite thing to do is walk my dogs. My pets mean the world to me, and I’m sure yours mean the world to you as well. I would love to be your trusted dog/cat sitter or walker. size/age of pet does not matter or bother me at all! Please reach out to me for any questions! I currently work at a school and my hours are 7:55 to 2:05 Monday through Friday. For pet sitting I can either house sit or I would be able to stop in the morning before work, after work around 2:30-3 and then any other times in the evening! for dog walking I can do as soon as I get out of work or weekends! I would make sure the environment your pet is staying in is safe! clean up any possible hazards, any messes, clean up after they eat. I will also make sure they are staying active by playing or walking and keeping a close eye on them when they are outside or keep them on a leash! I would keep you updated as much as possible with selfies and pictures with your pet. As for walking I will keep a safe distance from others and pay attention strictly to your pet!
About: I am a professional dog walker and pet sitter with over twenty years of hands on experience caring for animals. I recently moved to Suffolk County, New York from the Upper West Side of Manhattan after closing my small business in the city. Long Island has been an amazing change for us and we truly love being here. Animals have always been a huge part of my life and have shaped my career for more than two decades. Now that I work from home, I find myself really missing the daily connection with pets. I am certified in pet grooming and have experience in animal behavior as well as light training. I love teaching dogs fun tricks like giving kisses and building trust with them through patience and consistency. I also have experience working as a veterinary technician and receptionist, which has given me a strong understanding of animal health and communication with pet owners. I still maintain several wonderful clients from my time in Manhattan and I am excited to grow my services here in Suffolk County and meet new dogs and their families. About This Sitter Animals have always been my passion for as long as I can remember. I never imagined how far this path would take me, but I truly cannot picture myself doing anything else. Caring for pets feels natural and rewarding to me, and I am grateful every day to be part of their lives. Why I Love Dog Sitting I have loved dogs since the first time I was able to have one of my own. The more I learn about different breeds and personalities, the more my appreciation grows. Every dog has its own temperament and charm, and getting to know them is one of my favorite parts of this work. Meet My Pets In loving memory of Miah. Jenna is currently my active little companion. They are two beautiful Chihuahuas who have filled my life with joy and laughter. “Jen and Cameron are just amazing. They take care of our 13 year old pupper and our 14 year old bunnies with such love and kindness. They treat our girls like their own. Thank you, Jen and Cameron, for always going above and beyond. ❤️”

“Emily is amazing! Working as a nurse I have a pretty erratic schedule and she has been able to accommodate me and my three dogs. I feel comfortable letting her in my home and engaging with my dogs without me there. She has been an absolute life saver! I get a picture and update every time she stops by and it makes me feel so much better!!”

“I cannot express how grateful and delighted I am to have found Ioanna as my dog walker! From day one, she has gone above and beyond in taking care of my beloved fur baby. And a quiet recently added fur baby. Every time Waffles and Rain goes out with Ioanna, they come back happy and content, clearly having had a wonderful time on their adventures. What truly sets her apart is the genuine love and affection displayed towards my pups and the attention to detail in her service. During days of care, Ioanna ensured that Waffles and Rain always had plenty of water and a comfortable, place to rest. On rainy days, we could always count on high spirits and excellent care, never once cancelling due to weather. Moreover, her flexibility and reliability are commendable, accommodating any last-minute schedule changes with a smile. In addition to providing outstanding walks, Ioanna goes the extra mile, sending updates and adorable pictures from the walk and fun times during visits, which always brighten my day. It's comforting to know my pups are in such capable and caring hands. I wholeheartedly recommend Ioanna to anyone in need of a trustworthy and exceptional dog walker. Thanks to her, not only are Waffles and Rain healthier and happier, but we have found peace of mind knowing they’re in such wonderful care. Thank you, Ioanna, for being such a fantastic and compassionate friend to my beloved pups. I’m so lucky to have you!”

About: I've always been such a huge animal lover and always took care of my own cats, dogs, guinea pigs and birds. I used to watch my family members pets when they would go away and feed them per special instructions and stayed with them as long as I could so they were never lonely. I work full time now but I make my own schedule! I'll be able to be reliable and work around the needs of anyone's babies! In my clients home I always have respect and take care of not only the pets but the home and property when I'm there always.
“Kim was a fantastic kitty sitter! I was away for 8 days. She followed my care requests exactly and sent me photos every day, which I appreciated. I came home to a happy cat. Highly recommend!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
