“Alex was great! She was very responsive, sending updates and pictures often. She made us feel comfortable about leaving our dogs for the first time. I would recommend Alex to anyone in OS that needs a dog sitter.”

“Danika was great, we communicated a few times if she had a question. She sent me a few pictures and was quick to get back to me if I texted her. My house was clean when we got back, and I would have her back on our next trip”

About: I have lived with dogs my entire life and think of them as family. I will only have small groups of dogs at a time so your pupper will get lots of attention and belly rubs. I have experience with senior dogs and administering medications. I am a Realtor with a flexible schedule so I am able to care for pets most days during the week. I normally feed the dogs twice a day but I can accommodate special needs. I have a fenced yard and dogs have full run of the house including the living room furniture. I offer medication administration if needed. I have a Labradoodle who is here so your dog will always have a play buddy. My dog is reactive to new people and may bark loudly at meeting. I assure you that she settles right down as soon as the new humans leave and I will send video proof. Sometimes she even settles while new humans are still here! I generally run a kennel free enviroment (unless that is what your dog is used to. Then you can bring your own kennel). At bedtime I take the dogs lead on where they like to sleep. Some prefer sleeping next to my bed, some in my bed and some prefer the living room.
“Jessica is awesome, and so is George! Our dog Bria is very much a home body and picky about the humans she chooses to befriend. Bria and Jessica did great together, and Bria loved playing with George! Jessica communicates well and was a pleasure to work with. We would not hesitate to use Jessica again. Bria said it's okay, and she's the one we are trying to please! :-)”

About: My name is Kaitlyn, and I'm a dog trainer in the Grays Harbor area. I have been successfully working with owners to rehabilitate fearful and/or reactive dogs for almost a decade now. I have also been a competitive dog agility instructor for 7 years. My own dog is Oakley, a Miniature American Shepherd, and he helps me with fearful or reactive dog clients by being a neutral dog with great communication skills. Before becoming a dog trainer full time, I worked at a dog daycare in Mukilteo for 3 years. It was a great experience and gave me a lot of knowledge about dog behavior and handling large groups of dogs. I compete in seven different dog sports with my own dogs, but we love agility and flyball most. I am available whenever I'm not already teaching classes or at a competition. Scheduling is open as we just moved to the new area from Seattle. I am experienced with dogs who are difficult or nervous around strangers. I use scientifically backed, LIMA guided dog training to guide dogs through their feelings as gently as I am capable while accomplishing learning. In any case, I like to engage with dogs in a way that's most comfortable for them. Each dog is different! I am not comfortable taking unfamiliar dogs off leash outside of the home or yard for safety reasons, but I am happy to work on this skill with them if requested!
“Kendra was very positive and responsible and our anxious dog Bonnie was very calm when we returned, which showed she had been comfortable with Kendra. Kendra brought her charming young daughter with her to dog sit which limited how long and how often she could walk Bonnie.”

“Emeline was the perfect person to watch our Pearl girl!! Pearl is very particular and be try reserved, but Emeline easy won over Pearl and kept her very active and very happy! If needed, we would 100% book Emeline again!”

About: I've been a dedicated dog devotee since I was 10, starting with my own beloved pup who taught me the joys of unconditional love and responsibility. Growing up in a big family with many siblings, I've been the go-to sitter for a menagerie of pets—from energetic puppies to wise senior dogs—handling everything from daily walks and playtime to feeding, grooming, and even administering meds. Friends and neighbors have trusted me to watch their furry companions, often on a paid professional basis, where I've honed skills in training basics, managing multi-pet households, and providing tailored care that keeps tails wagging. Whether it's a quick potty break or an overnight stay, I bring patience, playfulness, and a genuine bond to every pet I meet—because to me, they're family too! I work from home part-time, offering tons of flexibility to pamper your pups! Picture me juggling treats and toys with a dance break or two—available weekdays, weekends, and anytime for sitting with a wagging tail guarantee! Your pet’s safety is my top priority! I specialize in house sitting with your dog and offer secure dog walking, ensuring constant supervision. I maintain a vigilant eye on your pet’s needs and adapt to your home’s environment for their comfort and security—pure peace of mind!
“Great sitter! I have three big male pittie mixes that have some special needs (behavioral and medical) and she was great with them. Very safe and very thorough with her care.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ocean Shores
I rebooked Danika for another in home dog care and she was great. We’ve had her a few times now and never had any issues whatsoever so ever. My dog loves her and my bird seems to enjoy her as well. I will highly recommend her to anyone that need pet care, and I look forward to her services in the future.

We trusted Hannah for 8 days with our little maltipoo and our home. We were new to Ocean Shores so it was a leap of faith, but we met her first which was reassuring. She was so sweet to our little girl and communicated with us regularly. Her dog, Fisher, tagged along and quickly became a big brother when they were out on their walks. We highly recommend Hannah!

Duncan is always amazing with our two dogs! He’s dependable, kind, and clearly loves what he does. We always come home to happy, relaxed pups who have obviously been well cared for. Duncan keeps us updated with messages and photos, which we really appreciate. We’re so grateful to have someone we can fully trust — highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great sitter!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ocean Shores walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ocean Shores maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ocean Shores choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
