“Misti was able to help me out on short notice, loved getting updates, and Sophia was well cared for. I would recommend Misti and look forward to having her again. Thank you, Misti!”

“Erin did a 6 day drop in visit for my fur babies. My dog and 1 cat really liked her:) the other cats are Leary of strangers and hid but still ate well. I have no complaints and would highly recommend Erin to anyone needing a sitter. It was my first vacation in 2 years and I did not have to worry about the pets at all!”

“I couldn’t have asked for better help than what I got from Laurie! Without having met my dogs, she came right in and helped me transport them from my home to daycare as I was out of town. She was very communicative and helpful and getting my dogs to daycare. It’s obvious she cares very much for your pets and I would trust her with them anytime. In fact, I will probably use her services very soon again! Thanks Laurie for all your help!”

About: I have experience caring for dogs, cats, small mammals, horses, fish, and some reptiles. I am an animal lover through and through, so whatever kind of pet you have, I promise to care for them as if they were my own. I am great at following instructions, so even if it is a new type of critter I haven't met before, I will provide care exactly as you direct. I have extensive experience with senior dogs, diabetes management, blind and/or deaf animals, and other medical care. I am not deterred by special needs animals. If you can show me how to perform the necessary tasks, I can do them. I will ensure that your babies get their special diet, their meds (pills or injections), their specific bedtime routine, or even just their exact required number of belly rubs and forehead kisses to keep their routine as steady as possible. I love sending photos and updates so that you know your pet is happy and healthy while you are away. Looking forward to meeting you and your pet! I work fulltime Mon-Fri. I can visit before I go to work in the mornings, anytime during evenings and weekends, and I can do midday check-ins for a quick potty break or medications on my lunch break. I am currently only offering services in the client's home. I will care for your pet carefully according to your instructions and will be respectful of your home and privacy. I will make sure everything is locked up behind me before leaving and if you want me to turn the porch light on at night or bring in your mail, etc. just let me know!
“Emily did an amazing job! When it was raining outside, she made sure to work out Sage's excess energy inside. We would highly recommend Emily (except for the times that we need her).”

“Virginia was great with our senior baby. She helped us by doing a couple of drop ins while we were gone for the day. She sent us a detailed update and pictures at each visit. We highly recommend Virginia and will request her for future visits!”

“Theresa was absolutely amazing with my two cats! Every day she gave me detailed updates on what she did and sent plenty of pictures! I could tell my cats were having a lot of fun.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Oaks
Theresa is a gem! She has watched over our cat twice now. Could not ask for a better person and caretaker for our cat. Plus, she takes care of us, the mom and dad, just as well with detailed daily messages and pictures. Theresa does everything she commits to and more. We've taken our dogs with us lately, but in the future for short trips we will definitely ask Theresa to help with our dogs as well. We are so fortunate to have been connected with Theresa. We've returned from our trip today, and our cat (nicknamed Mr. Handsome thanks to Theresa) is doing fabulously! He's received fresh water, medicine, food, treats, playtime, a clean litter box daily, and most of all, love while we were gone.
It took Sebastian barely a moment to get comfortable with Samantha! From the meet and greet, immediately demonstrated confidence and competence in knowing how to approach and interact with him, and watching him warm up to her more and more with each visit reaffirmed that I made the right choice as a first-timer to Rover! I will be requesting her services again without a doubt.

Everything went great! Erica was super with our cats. Everyone seemed healthy and happy when we got home. Eric was able to adjust easily to our slight adjustments in schedule and was available for late evening meds for my old lady cat. I really enjoyed getting to see pics of the cats during the visits.

Misti is the BEST sitter I we’ve ever had. Our pets love her! We were gone for two weeks and she took great care of them. Attentive to their needs, took them on long walks, and even updated us on some eating habit changes. Our little void wasn’t eating as much as he usually does, she immediately let us know and we figured it out together. She is a GEM!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oaks. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
