About: Hi, I’m Miru. Dogs genuinely make my day :) I have 10+ years of experience in dog walking, house sitting, and drop in visits. Here to give your pup the care and attention they deserve. I currently share my home with a 14 y.o. Maltese, so I have a soft spot for seniors and know how to care for dogs at every life stage. My clients describe me as reliable, compassionate, and trustworthy, and I take pride in always showing up as scheduled. I’d love to meet your pup and answer any questions you have. Their happiness is the whole point! I’m a recent graduate from Virginia Tech’s agricultural & applied economics masters program. I have full availability to care for your pet(s), including holidays and weekends. Safety is of utmost importance to me. I understand that each pet has unique needs and preferences. If necessary, I am experienced in crate training and can provide a secure and comfortable space for your dog if you prefer them to be crated while I am caring for them. I am diligent in following any specific safety instructions or guidelines you provide to ensure your pet's safety at all times. Trust is the foundation of a successful pet caretaker-client relationship. I recognize the trust you place in me by allowing me access to your home and entrusting me with the care of your furry family member. I take this responsibility seriously and will always respect your home, privacy, and belongings. You can trust that I will provide the highest level of care and attention to your pet, just as if they were my own. Creating a comfortable environment for your pet is crucial for their well-being. I understand that some pets have specific preferences or routines, and I am committed to maintaining those while you're away. If you request that your dog be kept off furniture, I will ensure they adhere to that rule. I will follow any specific instructions you provide regarding feeding, playtime, or any other routines your pet requires. By maintaining a familiar and comfortable environment, I aim to reduce any stress or anxiety your pet may experience in your absence. In addition to safety, trust, and comfort, I also pay close attention to the overall environment in your home. I am mindful of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards during my stay. I will clean up after your pet, dispose of waste properly, and keep their living area tidy. I believe that a clean and organized space contributes to your pet's well-being and helps create a positive atmosphere for them. Your pet's happiness and contentment are my top priorities. By focusing on safety, building trust, and creating a comfortable environment, I strive to provide the best possible care for your furry friend. You can rest assured that I will go above and beyond to ensure their well-being while you are away. About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was 10 when I got my dog. I joined Rover 3 years ago and have experience walking, feeding, playing with, and caring for various types of dogs. I care for every dog as if they're my own! I just got home from college and am looking to make some money as I take a remote class this summer. That being said, my schedule is pretty open and flexible! I am very respectful of other's spaces and make sure to follow instructions carefully. I pay attention to detail and am a high energy individual. I truly love dogs so much and am happy to help take care of them when owners' lives get busy.

About: I’ve always had 1-4 dogs living with me since I was a little kid. I started pet sitting on and off since my 20s. I have experience with small, medium and large dogs. I’m an elementary teacher, with a very flexible summer schedule. During the school year, I’m available during my lunch break for poddy breaks and a short walk or playtime (if close to Dumont) and after 3:45 for longer walks and feeding. I am also available on weekends! When caring for pets in a client's home, I follow each family's routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and medications (if needed). I make sure pets always have fresh water, and plenty of affection. I will treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own.

About: I have been around dogs my whole life and have been involved in pet care for the last 20 years. I have experience caring and walking dogs of all shapes and sizes, young to elderly, and including a wide range of personalities. If you tell me what your dog needs to feel safe and comfortable, I will do my absolute best to accommodate them. I am currently in between jobs as I work towards getting into the Police Academy so I’ll have plenty of time to hang out with your dogs. If my calendar shows that I’m free, I am available for house sitting and daily drop ins for walks and play time. I treat every dog that I meet as if they were my own. I will follow all instructions to the letter when caring for your dog and provide pictures/updates daily, or as often as requested.

About: I previously had a cockapoo for 15 and a half years! My parents and I would love to have a dog in the house again and I am happy to help watch pets while I am home from grad school! I am a Vanderbilt graduate student, and have Thursdays through Sundays completely off which gives me more than enough time to care for your dog! I am available during the day on Mondays and Tuesdays, and early Wednesdays. I make sure I know where food, water, treats, leashes, toys, etc. are placed, and always keep a close eye on them if they are in the yard. I make sure they are fed on time and feel comfortable.

Theo did an excellent job taking care of our cats. We booked him to house sit our two cats while we were away for nine days. He followed all of our instructions, and we came home to happy cats. He has a deep understanding of cat psychology, and he spent a ton of time interacting with our cats. We really appreciate him going above and beyond and will be booking him again!

Pete went above and beyond! Incredible job as far as attention to detail and instructions. Very nice guy who kept us completely in the loop the entire time we were gone. Pete is easily the best dogsitter we’ve ever had and our dogs can’t wait to have him back. Whatever is above a perfect rating is what we’d rate him.

My husband and I just came home with 2 puppies and were worried for our first day back to work. Mia made sure we had nothing to worry about. She texted us all day, sent photos, updates, provided above and beyond care to our puppies and is the most caring and kind person. We are so thankful we found Mia and are so lucky to have such a wonderful person to watch our pups with full care and attention for our 10 hour work days. She makes sure our puppies are safe and loved and we would recommend her to anyone needing excellent dog care.

He had a sense of confidence and calm that made us feel like we didn't need to worry that he'd be able to take care of anything that came up for the doggos. He stayed at the house, and was so thoughtful about bringing in the mail, watering plants, taking care of the bedding. Highly recommended for pet/house sitting!

About: I started my experience dog walking 2 years ago for a professor’s friend in Winchester, Virginia. Twice a week, I would walk her hyper pups. She then recommended me to her father, whose dog I began walking twice a week as well. From there, my mini business boomed through word of mouth. I began dog sitting in people’s homes as well for multiple individuals for varying time spans. Most of the dogs I interacted with were seniors and required extensive care. However, all dogs owners loved and recommended me to others! I still walk the original dogs and add in others as my schedule allows with two other jobs. I am sad to leave my extensive clientele in Winchester, but I am moving back to New Jersey for graduate school and excited to meet new puppy friends!! For the summertime, I am incredibly flexible with nothing planned. I prefer weekly walks / drop ins, but also like sitting as well. In August, I start physical therapy school at Columbia University so my availability will decrease but I’d be willing to provide services on nights / weekends. During breaks, my availability will open up again! Whenever walking / sitting, I respect the owner’s rules, no matter what. I long to maintain utmost cleanliness and adherence to routine as physically possible. I am also very communicative and honest, building trust with my clients.

About: I have taken care of two golden retrievers of my own. I have experience working with puppies as well as larger sized dogs. I love playing with dogs and making sure their needs are met. I’m currently working at a school and will have more availability this summer to take additional clients. I am available in the afternoon and evenings. I thrive off of detailed explanation from pet parents on how to make their fur babies more comfortable while their parents are away. I make sure to leave everything clean and tidy after my service is complete.

FAQs for House Sitting - Norwood

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Norwood on Rover is $51.06 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 18,628 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Norwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Norwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Norwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Norwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Norwood. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
