“Vicky, is amazing, checks all the boxes! To start with, she responds quickly to everything. She is also very mindful of my dogs every care, her likes/dislikes, and treated her as her own.”

About: I’ve always loved dogs and apart from having my own, I’ve been lucky to have experience with many others! From puppies to senior dogs who need medicine, I try to do as much as I can to make sure they’re comfortable! I work part time, so I’m very flexible with when I can walk or watch pets! If I know in advance, it’s pretty easy for me to move things around. I don’t have a dog in my current home, but I offer pretty constant attention to pets no matter what I’m doing. I also make sure to play enough to get them tired out for a good sleep!
“I am very happy to have found Stephanie! She watched Goldie for 5 days while we traveled out of state. She was very flexible with drop off and pickup times. She sent pics and kept us updated. I’m sure Goldie got all the attention she wanted! I have already booked the next service! I trust Stephanie and would recommend her.”

About: I have a lifelong love for animals and currently have both a dog and a kitten of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pets! I work in healthcare, which has made me very responsible, attentive, and detail oriented. I have experience administering medications and following specific care instructions, and I’m comfortable caring for pets of different ages, personalities, and needs. My goal is always to provide a safe, loving environment while keeping you updated for peace of mind :) Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine since I already care for my own dog and kitten every day. I’m used to maintaining feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and giving pets the attention they need to feel comfortable and happy. Because I work in healthcare, I’m very organized and plan my schedule carefully, which allows me to reliably commit to the pets I’m caring for. I make sure to dedicate quality time for visits, walks, and check-ins so pets aren’t rushed and receive my full attention. Whether it’s daily drop-ins, walks, or overnight care, I prioritize consistency, safety, and making sure each pet’s routine is followed as closely as possible. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, my priority is always making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I take time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and personality so I can keep their environment as consistent and stress free as possible. This includes feeding schedules, fresh water, walks or litter care, playtime, and plenty of attention and affection. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all care instructions closely while giving pets companionship and reassurance while their family is away. In my home, I provide a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment with supervision and structured routines so pets feel secure. I also send regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are happy and well cared for. My goal is always to treat every pet like family and give them the same love and care I give my own!
About: Experienced with all kinds of dogs. I grew up with an 8lb maltese and went to boarding school where I frequently took care of a golden doodle and a pitbull/boxer puppy. Spent a summer with my brothers dog (pitbull mix), dogsat 2 older dogs for a summer (golden and mini doodle) and also have some experience taking care of cats. I’ve had experience with over hyper dogs and anxious dogs so I know how to adjust their environment to make them most comfortable. I live in a small apartment but I am right next to a park and enjoy exercising/being outside. I am currently working Monday through Friday from 7-4:30 so I am not generally available till 5:30 on a weekday. I’m available on the weekends! I have no pets of my own so your pet will be getting my full attention. I live down the road from a large park and there are many walking paths nearby. For overnights, I do have a smaller apartment so I wouldn’t want to take any dogs larger than ~40lbs as it likely would not be enough room for them.
“Wow wow wow Lenore was such a blessing! She watched my pup last minute and kept me updated the whole time. She was very very friendly and just an overal sweet woman. I highly suggest her and recommend her to everyone I know who's got a pup. 10/10!!”
“Brittany was AMAZING! Sent me so many check in photos, my dogs looked like they were having a blast. They didn’t want to leave when we came to pick them up 😅. Highly recommend her.”

“Theresa was wonderful and took great care of our pup! We even had some delays traveling, and Theresa was very flexible and communicative. Highly recommend and will definitely board with her again!”

“Beth was very sweet and friendly! Super helpful and happy to have my 13 year old girl Sage. Her house is clean and quiet and relaxing for my old girl, which I really appreciated! Very helpful that she has a fenced in yard. I will be definitely be sending Sage to Beth's again!”

“Pamela was great! She quickly answered all my questions, and included daily photos while Buffy was in her care. Buffy had a great time playing in the backyard with her dog, another golden retriever, and it was clear that Buffy got lots of attention. Pamela sent homemade treats home with Buffy, which she loves. We would rebook! Thanks for taking such good care of our much loved dog!”

“This was by far the best Rover experience we’ve ever had! Brenda was so flexible and responsive. She sent fun pictures of Lucy making friends and going on adventures. She has lots of room to roam and explore. If we are ever back in the Holland area, Brenda would be our #1 choice for watching Lucy!”

“Samuel did a fantastic job taking care of our dachshund! We got videos and photos of his dog playing with ours and it was clear they loved hanging out together! Samuel paid attention to all of the details and we will definitely be booking with him again in the future!”

“Terry and Chucky are absolutely amazing! Molly and Tanner are always so excited when they realize they’re going over, tails wagging non-stop! I can tell they’re not only well taken care of, but truly loved while they’re there. Whether it’s playtime, cuddles, or just relaxing in a calm environment, they come home happy and relaxed every time. It’s such a relief knowing they’re in such great hands. Highly recommend!”

About: I had a yellow lab since I was 10 years old that just recently passed away. Caring for her provided a lot of experience on info on how to best take care of a pet! I fell in love with dogs years before we got my dog when I would visit my grandparents dogs. I would walk one of their dogs regularly, a Yorkie! I have had experience in owning, bathing, and feeding 3 different types of dogs. House sitting is also something I’m open to and would like to build my skills on! I work part time at a resident care facility. One week I work first shift (7-3) and the next week I work second (3-10). I always work Saturday and Sunday but variate between Monday and Wednesday as well. There are various parks near the subdivision I live in that are within walking distance (for younger and more fit pets) or a short drive. Additionally my home has a fenced in backyard that a pet can run around in! We have dog bowls and toys available from my dog that recently passed!
“This was our first time using Rover and Katherine was amazingly patient when answering all my questions about what we should expect. Unfortunately during the stay, one of our dogs had a difficult time adjusting, but Katherine did everything she could to ease her anxiety and make her comfortable. By the end of the weekend, there was quite a bit of improvement for Jessie. They sent pics of them and the dogs having fun which I thoroughly enjoyed.”

“Katherine was great with our pup Sunny. She came home tired and worn out. I got pictures and updates regularly and she was quick to respond. Easy to communicate with about drop off and pick up! Would recommend!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
