“Heather helped me out by taking my two for a long walk. This is my second time needing her help and would use her again. She made it feel easy to leave my dogs for a long day.”

“Kristin is awesome. My dog is reactive and she had treats ready for him to calm him down upon meeting him. It’s nice to trust your dog walker and I will definitely utilize her services again.”

“Lovely, courteous, complimentary to our pup (who doesn't love a dogsitter that identifies and praises all our dog's best features?!?), and a really good sport hanging out with Calcifer on a muggy, hot, tick-filled day. Thanks!”

About: I have loved dogs since I can remember—I used to read dog encyclopedias as a kid! My own dog and sidekick, Miguel, is a cute rescue with a pronounced underbite. He lives with my family far away, so I am excited to provide services (walking, dog sitting) for pets nearby! Over the summer, I am working remotely and thus have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I am never away from home for more than two hours at a time. All dogs who have stayed at my apartment have been treated as my own; no couch or bed is off limits! 3+ walks a day, and a dog park nearby!
About: I’ve taken care of my family and friends dogs and cats. They have relied on me to feed, water, walk and occasionally give oral medication. I’m currently working up to 30 hours (4 days a week) over the summer while getting my masters at Smith College. I cannot afford to have a dog or cat of my own. I would love to be able give love to other peoples pets, it would be the best part of my day! I will make sure to take safety measures that are given/told to me very seriously. My #1 priority would be the safety of your pet!

About: I am a recent Smith College graduate and animal lover with 10+ years of experience caring for dogs and cats. Having grown up with pets, I have experience administering medications and providing care tailored to each pet's personality and routine. I have also volunteered at the local animal shelter and worked as a zookeeper, giving me experience with animals of many sizes and personalities. As someone pursuing a career in animal behavior, I am committed to keeping pets safe, comfortable, and happy while you're away. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine, and I am available any day of the week. I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate a variety of pet care needs, including walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays. I tailor my care to each pet’s routine to help them feel comfortable and stress-free. In a client’s home, I stick closely to their usual schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications, while also keeping the space clean and secure.
“Sarah was absolutely wonderful, she took great care of our girl Minuit. She fed her, and gave her love and attention. She asked about Minuit's personality and habits and that was a very nice touch. Would absolutely recommend :)”

“Rowyn met with me and my two dogs prior to our scheduled walking. She was great with them and showed clear knowledge of dogs and enthusiasm. She was easy to communicate with, as well as accommodating and gracious with last minute changes I made to my booking.”

About: I have pet sat cats and dogs for the last 7 years, and am very attentive to individual needs. Having grown up with a cat myself and taking care of my sisters dog definitely set me up for successful pet care. I work part time currently so am often available up to 2 days during the week and often one weekend day to care for your pets! I often let the pets lead me at first when I enter their environment. I want them to feel safe and comfortable, and am very patient when dealing with more anxious or defensive pets.
About: Calm, experienced animal care provider in Northampton with years of hands-on experience around animals and therapeutic riding programs. I’ve raised and trained my own four dogs from 8 weeks old, including Canine Good Citizen-level training, and have safely handled dogs in therapeutic environments. I offer dependable, thoughtful care focused on safety, routine, communication, and helping pets feel secure. I currently offer pet sitting on a selective basis so I can provide focused, dependable care and maintain consistent routines for each pet. I require a meet and greet initial assessment for you to meet me and for me to assess your dog. Best fit will be with dogs who enjoy the company of my dog Coco (a Shih Tzu Dauchshund mix) but evening visits, weekends, vacation coverage, and overnight care are fine for dogs that perfer human company. I keep my service area manageable to ensure reliable communication, punctual visits, and attentive care for every animal. I focus on creating a calm, safe, and consistent environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, walking routines, and household preferences, and I communicate reliably with updates and photos.

About: I’ve spent over a decade working with animals, starting in Birmingham, Alabama, where I rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed dogs through a bully breed rescue. I’ve also rescued and socialized cats and kittens, rehoming entire families. I currently have an active profile with Trusted House Sitters that has several five star reviews. After moving to New England, I worked at a cat hospice and later as a veterinary assistant at an emergency hospital. I’ve always had animals since I was a kid—especially cats—and I’ve also cared for reptiles, small pets like hamsters, and even fish. I’ve lived in many homes over the years and have often housesat for friends and family, so I’m comfortable caring for both pets and the spaces they love. I even have experience as a house cleaner and organizer and believe in leaving spaces better than I found them. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I work part-time as a cheer coach a couple of times a week and occasionally help with our family business, but my schedule is very flexible. This allows me to be available most days for quality time, pet visits, walks, and check-ins. I enjoy building pet care into my routine and making sure animals get the attention, exercise, and care they need while their owners are away. 🐾 Caring for animals is truly a passion of mine, and I treat every pet with the same love and attention I would give my own. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, their safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. I believe every walk, play session, or visit should be a highlight of their day, and I make sure to give them plenty of affection, attention, and enrichment. I’m attentive to their behavior and needs so they feel safe, relaxed, and happy while their owners are away.
About: I have always loved and lived with pets. Growing up we had multiple cats and a dog or two at any given time. In high school, I convinced my mom to foster a litter of kittens for our local humane society and we ended up caring for litters and kittens and puppies as well as seniors and sickly dogs for years to come. Right out of college I adopted my cat, and she has been my constant companion ever since. A decade later I rescued a very reactive dog and worked for 5 years on his reactivity. We made great improvements together! If you need someone to walk your reactive dog during the day, I’m your gal! I’d also love to care for your chill, non-reactive dog when you go out of town. I have a very active toddler, so I can only board dogs who are reliably safe around small children. I am available Monday-Thursday from 9-3 for drop ins and dog walks, with some flexible availability on the weekends too. Available for boarding as well this winter I have a large fenced portion of my back yard, as well as easy access to the bike path. We have some baby gates in our house, and more in storage, if that makes sense to make your pets comfortable.
About: I have had a deep love of animals as long as I can remember…This led me to receive my AVA certificate in 2020. I worked at a Tufts Clinic caring for animals both big and small gaining hands-on experience in total animal welfare. This time allowed me to gain an even deeper appreciation for our furry companions :) I’m currently taking classes and working part - time so I am pretty available throughout the weekdays. I am available on most weekends so please feel free to ask and I will let you know! I live in a large house with plenty of space for animals to explore and I also live in a community with great sidewalks and parks within walking distance from my home for your fur babies to play. At your house my attention is on your pet always. I grew up in a household where dogs and cats have always been an integral part of my life and I find a lot of joy in having them around :)
About: I grew up with a fear of dogs that only ebbed when I was 13, after my family started fostering an older Australian cattle dog mix. She was smart, sweet, and scarily strong. Taking care of her taught me how to stay calm, deescalate her excitement when necessary, and also match her energy and enthusiasm. My fear is gone and now I love to make friends with new dogs! I work 9 to 5 on Monday through Friday— I’m available on weekends, as well as all mornings and evenings outside of my regular job schedule. I also get federal holidays off, so I am generally free on weekdays that fall into that category. I love spending time with animals and am so happy to dole out as much affection as they want! However, I'm also pretty good at reading their body language and realizing when they need space to do their own thing. Every animal has different needs and I pride myself on respecting that!
About: I'm available for all holidays starting with Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza and New Year's Eve I'm a lifetime pet owner and pet sitter with strong references 🙏 I'm not employed by anyone else, so my time is wide open and I live on a quiet dead end street and close to regular parks and dog parks / trails. I always take the owners preferences seriously, but I do like to spoil with good food and treats. I also am good with grooming calmingly.
About: I have cared and worked with cats and dogs since a young age. I will take my time to get to know your animals and they will trust and look forward to seeing me! I work as an educator, so my summer is open and super flexible. In July, I will be working from 8:30am - 12pm Monday through Thursday. Either way, I am a morning person. I love waking up and relaxing on the couch with the animals drinking some coffee or tea, and then spending the day on the couch or outside running around depending on their mood. I fully communicate with clients to ensure set boundaries and specific pet care needs. I can be hands on and active, or simply a presence in the room to ease anxiety.
About: I have had a cat for my whole life, however I volunteer at a dog shelter Wags & Walks where you play with dogs, as well as walk them, so I have experiences with that. A lot of the dogs there are amazing, but also reactive so I have experience and know how to handle a reactive dog. I can always try to be available but I am mostly available on weekends or at night during the week since I am a college student. I feed my cat and clean her litter. Very different from dogs, but I’m often at peoples houses with dogs and walk their dogs as well as play with them.

“Noah is very mindful of the heat and keeping my dog as cool as possible. He turned on the AC for me, and shifted the time of the walk. He always communicates, is quick to respond!”

About: I grew up on a farm and always had dogs! Right now I have three dogs, and, as a teacher I have summers off. I’d love to spend my break taking care of your pups! As a teacher, I have the whole summer off. I’d be happy to take your dogs on walks whether quick or long. During the school year, if the timing is right, I would be happy to walk or watch your pets on weekends, evenings or breaks. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, reactive dogs, puppies and seniors. I love to take dogs on hikes, a stroll around the neighborhood, or playing in the yard. Growing up with livestock as well, I am responsible, calm in emergencies, and prioritize animals safety and well-being.

Tanya was awesome. She took our big sweet boy for a 2 mile walk today and she sent so many photos from their adventure. He was so relaxed and happy when we got home :) She was so thorough when asking about Buster and how to care for him. I highly suggest her and will be using her services again soon I’m sure!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
