Drew has been my go-to dog sitter for the past six months. She has helped me with walks and care on long work days and watched my pup on a few separate long weekends when I was traveling. My dog immediately loved her and always comes back to me happy and well-exercised. I never worry when away and Drew has been incredibly reliable and easy to work with. Highly recommended.

Brynn is an excellent pet sitter. She cared for our geriatric cat for an extended period and she provided thoughtful care and kept us updated regularly. She was particularly conscientious about changes in the cats behavior and took appropriate actions as needed. We felt our cat and home were in excellent hands during our absence.

Jes was great! It was our first time leaving our dog, Olive, at another person’s home. Jes and her partner were super accommodating, and had no problems with slight changes in pickup/drop off times. Olive was super well taken care of, we’ll definitely be using Jes again in the future!

I identify as a crazy dog mom- I get nervous entrusting my dog Blue’s safety with anyone other than myself or my fiancé. That being said, I would 100% trust Jacqui to watch my dog and here is why: Jacqui will take care of your dog with the same amount of love and affection that you would yourself, as well as holding to your high (sometimes ridiculously so, in my case) standards. I was a typical “new mom” and was overly cautious with my new best friend. As roommates, Jacqui babysat for me while I was gone and she was very intentional about taking care of Blue in the way that she knew I was comfortable with. Jacqui not only greatly exceeds (soars WELL beyond, really) the bare minimum for care, but she will also bond and care very deeply for your pet. I’ve never met an animal that didn’t immediately take to her, and us dog moms can agree the pups are excellent judges of character. This means that not only can you rest assured that your dog is in wonderful hands, but that your dog will be extremely excited to see their friend Jacqui when she comes to visit. As her former roommate and longtime friend, I can attest full heartedly to Jacqui’s impeccable character as a human being, and I want you to know that you can feel completely comfortable welcoming her into your home and pet’s lives. It would be very difficult to find a better care giver for your best friend. I couldn’t recommend Jacqui more to take care of your babies!

Jen is terrific with all dogs. She has two herself and during a period of time I was laid up, she was able to walk my dog several times a day. She is responsible, kind and loving with dogs, looks out for them and their needs. If I wasn’t moving away, she would be supplementing my own walks. I highly recommend her. Deborah V.

Kathleen was great! She accommodated me at the last minute when I really needed her and put my mind at ease! She was very thorough and caring while getting to know Munchkin’s habits and interests. She has a very nice house with a fenced in yard where she could run around and play. She updated me regularly with photos and videos of her and took her on a long walk. Kathleen was a fantastic find.

Bretton is the best ! I’ll admit I was hesitant leaving my baby girl with a stranger, but after our meet and greet I felt like she was going to stay an old friend. Brett’s place is super dog friendly complete with a fenced in yard for playing or just enjoying some fresh air. I received many photo updates showing my Roxie enjoying all of the amenities! I can’t believe I found such a kind wonderful person to care for my Roxie while I was away. She can’t wait to go back to visit her new best friend!!

Josh is so professional and caring! He is also very flexible and accommodating. We felt very at ease when we were away. He took our pup for walks daily, replied to our questions with so much patience. Their dog Roo is the cutest little boy, it was so cute to see Roo and our dog interact. We are just so glad that we found them on Rover!

I highly recommend Deirdre if you are looking for someone to care for your pet as their own. She watched our girl Iris for a week and we could not have asked or wanted anything more. Not only is she caring, but she goes above and beyond expectations. She helped with Iris’ training and probably devoted more time to this then we are able. She gave updates and sent pictures daily. Highly recommended!

I will absolutely book with Sabrina again and would recommend her to anyone

When we first met Kristi, her warmth and enthusiasm seemed like a perfect fit to care for our beloved Benny! (He has some serious separation anxiety) The first afternoon, she sent a video of her engaging with him to look for mommy...he really responded to her encouragement. The next days she sent texts and photos which made us feel comforted in knowing she was taking good care of Benny. Benny seemed great at pickup and was happily tired when we got home. And, Kristi said Benny also did fine with Hashbrown, the Cat. Thank you Kristi for a great experience!! Would recommend you to everyone, as long as you'd be available when we need you!!☆☆

Why book Rover dog boarding in Pittsburgh?

Pittsburgh pet parents want to make sure their dogs are well taken care of when they're away, and that's where Rover comes in. Dog sitters in Pittsburgh will treat your pups like part of their family, and offer them all the comforts of home, unlike a kennel. If you're looking for dog boarding in Pittsburgh, try a Rover sitter who'll care your pup in their own home, offering plenty of one-on-one attention.

Why do dog owners love Pittsburgh?

Residents of The 'Burgh are treated daily to a city full of history, entertaining professional sports leagues, and cultural institutions. Home to educational institutions like Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh - plus cultural attractions including the Andy Warhol Museum - it's often ranked one of the country's most livable cities. So it's easy to see why dog owners love living in Pittsburgh. Plus, there are tons of dog-friendly green spaces and friendly Rover dog sitters and walkers throughout the city.

Which parks in Pittsburgh are good for dog walks?

Referred to as OLEAs, Pittsburgh has many Off-Leash Exercise Areas your dog to enjoy. Take Frick Park dog park on Squirrel Hill - it's a massive 644 acres for you and your dog to explore. There are separate fenced areas for running, lots of trails, and a swimming hole for dogs near Lower Tranquil Trail. Though not quite as large, Riverview Dog Park at Perry North is still a huge park to visit at 259 acres total, with two acres fenced off just for off-leash fun near the Allegheny Observatory. At Bernard Dog Run in Lawrenceville, you'll find a bustling half-acre park under the 40th Street Bridge. There are separate play areas for large and small dogs to keep pups safe and having fun with other dogs their own size. Dogs need to stay on leash at Point State Park, but that shouldn't stop you from spending a day walking its three main hiking trails. It's right downtown in the Golden Triangle, so you can't miss it!

What Pittsburgh neighborhoods are good for dog owners?

Pittsburgh has over 90 vibrant and unique neighborhoods, so deciding where to visit or even settle down can be a tough decision. From S&D Polish Deli to the Pennsylvania Macaroni Co., there are tons of interesting and eclectic shops and grocers in the Strip District, just east of downtown Pittsburgh. If you're looking for something a little more upscale, take your shopping over to the Shadyside area. You can get a dose of culture and intellectual discussion in Oakland, where you'll find the 53-story gothic building that houses the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning. If you need a place to stay, check out the edgy, metroplication chic of the Ace Hotel or Indigo Hotel in the East Liberty neighborhood. Looking for a bite to eat? Head over to Pittsburgh's "Little Italy," Bloomfield. Take a bridge from downtown to discover North Shore and North Side, home to Heinz Field and PNC Park, and be sure to get a glimpse of the larger-than-life Mister Rogers' statue nearby. You can also take a nice stroll down the tree-lined streets of the charming Sewickley neighborhood, or catch an amazing view in Mt. Washington.
