We were very nervous about using Rover for the first time and leaving Frank, our Frenchie, with a sitter for the weekend. Our experience couldn't have been better as Josh was incredibly communicative and kind throughout the entire process. He was flexible with the drop-off/pick-up times and the fact that he works from home was great as Frank is used to being with me as I also work from home. We will definitely be reaching out to Josh again for any of our future pet sitting needs!

Ali was a perfect fit for Lizzy! We couldn't have been happier. We went away for a week, without access to Wi-Fi. Ali met with us beforehand, and we instantly felt comfortable to leave Lizzy in her care. She was so gentle, Lizzy relaxed and felt right at home. Thank you so much! Highly recommend and would definitely use Ali again.

Jes & Sean took great care of our puppy Finn while we were out of town for the weekend. They were very communicative, worked well with my ever changing drop off/pick up times, and overall made it a worry free experience being away from our little guy. Their neighborhood was very dog friendly which was also a huge bonus. Would recommend Jes to anyone reading her reviews! Thanks again

Minnie was amazing! She was able to handle our last minute booking and work with the few adjustments that were needed. She gave me both photo and video updates throughout my trip, and she was very responsive when I would contact her, both before and during TJ’s stay. Teej loved his staycation which was very evident in his videos. I would definitely recommend and I will definitely be booking again!

Jason was awesome! He always responded promptly, and he was very flexible arranging a meet-n-greet and drop off/pickup times. His fenced in yard is great! He played with Callie, took her for walks, and truly spoiled her! He sent updates and pics regularly. I think Callie is already looking forward to her next stay! Both Callie and I highly recommend Jason!

My dog Teddy had a great time staying with Ellyn and her family while I was in another city for a few days. Their home has the ideal setup for hosting, right in a convenient city neighborhood with a fenced yard and dog door as well as direct adjacency to a major park with trails for longer walks and an older dog of the same breed as Teddy for canine companionship and toy sharing. Ellyn was super attentive to my dog and frequently sent cute photos to set my mind at ease that he was happy and being well taken care of. The main thing that appeals to me with this caregiver is that my dog was living with a family who were happy and excited to have him staying there. Ellyn’s husband and children were so delighted to meet Teddy when we arrived I knew he was in a great place. This was my first time using Rover and Teddy’s first time boarding since I adopted him last year. I really didn’t want to use a kennel while I was away but my friend who had cared for my previous dog has moved out of the area and I was having trouble finding other options. This worked out great because it was a family atmosphere with caring people. I would definitely seek Ellyn’s services again if I have future need of them. A million stars! ♾️⭐️???⭐️♾️

Communicating with Pam was super easy; she always replied to our messages promptly and sent us pictures of our girl. She was very kind to accept a late pickup time after we arrived from the airport late at night. The dog was happy and looked very comfortable staying with her, and that is not for granted as our girl is super shy and aprenhensive with strangers. I would definitely have Pam sit our dog again. Thanks a lot!!

Carol is the sweetest, most reliable dog sitter we have ever had. We have 2 big labs that adore her and get so excited when she comes to walk them. My husband and I like to travel, and can relax and enjoy our vacation, knowing we have a trustworthy person at our house taking care of our dogs.

Ivana was the BEST. Our dog stayed with Ivana at her home for 7 days. Ivana was extremely communicative, very flexible, and very professional. She responded to all my messages in a reasonable time frame, gave me morning updates and photos each day, and was overall very sweet. Our dog is very shy and not super affectionate, but Ivana was patient and calm with her and we could tell from pics/messages that our dog had warmed up to her in no time. The next time we travel we will absolutely be looking to see if Ivana is available. We loved working with her and would absolutely recommend her services.

Another great stay with Emily! Whisky enjoyed hanging with furry friends just his size and a care giver who goes the extra mile to make sure he gets exercise, playtime, and healthy snacks. Lots of pictures let us know Whisky’s daily adventures and nap times. We’ve booked another longer stay with Emily and Whisky’s already looking forward to it!

Brad is amazing. I’ve used him a few times now and always look to his availability first. The most recent stay my dog had a medical emergency and he didn’t hesitate to jump into action. He took him to the emergency vet and waited while I rushed home from being out of town. Previous to this Brad also provided above and beyond service to my dog and also provided timely updates. I highly recommend!

Why book Rover dog boarding in Pittsburgh?

Pittsburgh pet parents want to make sure their dogs are well taken care of when they're away, and that's where Rover comes in. Dog sitters in Pittsburgh will treat your pups like part of their family, and offer them all the comforts of home, unlike a kennel. If you're looking for dog boarding in Pittsburgh, try a Rover sitter who'll care your pup in their own home, offering plenty of one-on-one attention.

Why do dog owners love Pittsburgh?

Residents of The 'Burgh are treated daily to a city full of history, entertaining professional sports leagues, and cultural institutions. Home to educational institutions like Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh - plus cultural attractions including the Andy Warhol Museum - it's often ranked one of the country's most livable cities. So it's easy to see why dog owners love living in Pittsburgh. Plus, there are tons of dog-friendly green spaces and friendly Rover dog sitters and walkers throughout the city.

Which parks in Pittsburgh are good for dog walks?

Referred to as OLEAs, Pittsburgh has many Off-Leash Exercise Areas your dog to enjoy. Take Frick Park dog park on Squirrel Hill - it's a massive 644 acres for you and your dog to explore. There are separate fenced areas for running, lots of trails, and a swimming hole for dogs near Lower Tranquil Trail. Though not quite as large, Riverview Dog Park at Perry North is still a huge park to visit at 259 acres total, with two acres fenced off just for off-leash fun near the Allegheny Observatory. At Bernard Dog Run in Lawrenceville, you'll find a bustling half-acre park under the 40th Street Bridge. There are separate play areas for large and small dogs to keep pups safe and having fun with other dogs their own size. Dogs need to stay on leash at Point State Park, but that shouldn't stop you from spending a day walking its three main hiking trails. It's right downtown in the Golden Triangle, so you can't miss it!

What Pittsburgh neighborhoods are good for dog owners?

Pittsburgh has over 90 vibrant and unique neighborhoods, so deciding where to visit or even settle down can be a tough decision. From S&D Polish Deli to the Pennsylvania Macaroni Co., there are tons of interesting and eclectic shops and grocers in the Strip District, just east of downtown Pittsburgh. If you're looking for something a little more upscale, take your shopping over to the Shadyside area. You can get a dose of culture and intellectual discussion in Oakland, where you'll find the 53-story gothic building that houses the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning. If you need a place to stay, check out the edgy, metroplication chic of the Ace Hotel or Indigo Hotel in the East Liberty neighborhood. Looking for a bite to eat? Head over to Pittsburgh's "Little Italy," Bloomfield. Take a bridge from downtown to discover North Shore and North Side, home to Heinz Field and PNC Park, and be sure to get a glimpse of the larger-than-life Mister Rogers' statue nearby. You can also take a nice stroll down the tree-lined streets of the charming Sewickley neighborhood, or catch an amazing view in Mt. Washington.
