“Darnelle was amazing!! I had to leave for the weekend urgently and Darnelle kindly agreed to walk him at the last minute. She was always on point, and was patient with directions to enter the building. She went above and beyond to make sure my dog Benji was comfortable and walked him for ample time on both days! Even though my dog isn’t very friendly with new people, he warmed up to her quickly and went on walks without any hassle. Would definitely recommend her for all your doggy care needs! She is the best”

“SoYoung is really great! She is very flexible with scheduling & communicate really well. Most importantly, she loves dogs! She is patient with my 2 doodles. Committed to take them on a good long walk & played fetch with them. My dogs came home tired & happy, which is the goal! At the end of the walk she always include pictures, which made me feel very at ease when I'm away. She's trustworthy! :)”

“Amazing experience with Sam!! Spiky had a blast with her, I was so happy to see Spike come back after great exercise and play time, just what he needed, I could tell how happy he was, would highly recommend!!”

About: I have extensive experience with large and small animals from horses to birds. I’ve had multiple dogs and cats in the family over the years and have truly loved all the different personalities. I work remote from home with a fairly flexible schedule to care for your pets. I am available for early walks and feedings along with lunchtime and after hours as well. I am available for drop in and dog walking as needed to fit your pets schedule. I treat my pets as members of the family and will give yours that same respect and love.

“Kenny is hands-down the absolute best! I just moved and was very hesitant to allow a stranger to walk my dog, but Kenny not only assured me, but also Alpha (my doggo)!. He is super friendly, and also very professional. He keeps me updated with every move, and sends me pictures. I never have to feel worried about Alpha when she's with me (and now, she gets super excited when he comes around). If you have any doubts about Kenny - please don't! He is truly an angel!!!”

“Khan is a great communicator and dog friend. Our dog Jesse, who is pretty reserved especially with men, but not with Khan. For us, that says something. He kept us updated with photos and more info, which was nice. We will definitely ask Khan again for our next trip.”

About: I have dog- & cat-sat and walked dogs for friends and family, off and on for decades. I respect and strive to maintain your training and behavioral standards. In my experience, dogs live to please us and get it right -- and get a reward. :-) I relish seeing sociable pooches' delight when I take them to the dog park to chase balls and play with new friends. I enjoy each and every walk through the neighborhood just to see who's out and wanting to say "hi!" (read: "woof!"). I know how important a routine can be, so I do my utmost to adhere to yours, so that pooch who misses you will have the least possible other disruptions to their sensibility. ;-) I'm a writer and editor working from home, so "Have laptop. Will travel." Show me your high-speed Internet and I'll show you a flexible and dedicated on-site sitter for your canine or feline cutie-pies. I'll walk your dogs, play with your cats, water your plants, put out your trash bins, bring in the mail, add chlorine to your hot tub, and move your car every 72 hours -- just tell me what you need in order to feel totally at ease while you're away! When out and about, I routinely ask other dog-walkers for permission or an invitation before letting your pups introduce themselves. I am highly conscious of door and fence/gate hygiene, either at your home or at the dog park. And while at that dog park or on those walks, I strive to never mix leashed dogs with unleashed dogs, so as to minimize any power imbalances. At mealtime, I monitor a chubby pooch with a slow metabolism to make sure he doesn't partake of his slim & trim buddy's leftovers. I appreciate and adhere to the routines you've established for your pet. I like to build trust and reinforce cooperation & good behavior by asking dogs for a "shake" or "sit" or "down" before rewarding them with a treat.

“I am a happy repeat client of Avery’s for a weekly midday walk. Cannot recommend her enough for the prompt and clear communication, her knowledge about dogs and calming presence in front of my sometimes wild doggo. My dog Namu is so fond of Avery! Her detailed and lovely Rover Card makes me smile every time.”

About: I’ve had the joy of seeing my own dogs and cats grow from tiny puppies and kittens into beloved seniors (16+ years old), caring for them through every stage of their lives. I understand how much love and importance they hold in our families, and how deeply we cherish their companionship. What sets me apart is the heartfelt care and experience I bring. I’ve cared for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities, and I’m comfortable with everything from energetic walks to gentle senior care. Whether it’s giving medications, providing extra patience with older pets, or simply showering them with love and attention, I treat every pet as if they were my own. It’s a true joy and privilege for me to look after these little four-legged angels while giving peace of mind to their families. Pet care is naturally part of my daily life. I make sure pets in my care get plenty of attention, walks, and companionship throughout the day. I’m very mindful of their routines, and I always prioritize their needs — from morning walks to afternoon playtime and everything in between. So they always feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Providing a calm and attentive environment is very important to me, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. When pets stay in my home, they are treated like family. I let them explore the space freely, relax on the couch, and even sleep with me if that’s what they’re used to, but I always make sure to follow the owner’s rules and preferences, whether the pet is staying at my home or I’m caring for them in their home. I want them to feel as comfortable and loved as they do at home. I live very close to a beautiful park with a dog park and walking trail, which is perfect for daily walks, playtime, and giving them a fun outdoor adventure.

About: I've been caring for animals since I was a kid-so much so that I have a childhood diary entry about winning over a neighbor's grumpy cat while pet sitting. She wasn't friendly with most people, but by the end of the week, she curled up on me and fell asleep. That moment stuck with me and I continue caring for pets with the same approach: with patience, calmness, and a genuine love for connecting with animals. Since then, I've looked after pets for friends, neighbors, and coworkers. I've cared for high-energy puppies in special training to senior dogs with arthritis. I'm experienced with special diets, giving medication (oral, eardrops, and eyedrops), and animals with special needs (blindness, hip dysplasia, anxiety, arthritis, and more). I feel comfortable walking large, high energy dogs and can also provide training to ensure your dog does not lose progress while you're away. I currently work four days a week with a consistent schedule, which gives me plenty of flexibility for morning, evening, and weekend pet care. On my days off, I'm available all days for walks, drop-ins, or house sitting. I'm great at communicating and always make sure your pet's routine fits smoothly into my day. I understand that routine is important for many pets and want to ensure they get the attention, playtime, and care they deserve! When I care for pets in a client's home, I treat both the pet and space with respect and care. I stick closely to your pet's routine to keep them comfortable and provide a loving presence. I'm mindful of safety and understand that it starts before I even enter your home. I'm cautious with "door darters" and follow client guidelines for safe entering and exiting of the home. I keep notes on door locking, windows, and ensure food and medications are not in reach of pets. I also keep things tidy and am happy to water plants and bring in the mail while you're away.
