I have helped take care of special needs dogs in the past-our family dog was blind, and another dog is missing a limb....so I know how to care after the ones that need help the most. We have two rescued dogs, Soju and Sokka. We have a nice space with hardwood floors and a fenced yard. I plan on treating your dog as part of the family - giving them all the play time they need to be happy! I'm currently at home full time so your pup gets plenty of attention. The daily routine includes going to nearby parks (Vondel or Beatrix) and additional potty break walks around the neighborhood. I like to cater to the dogs needs and walking endurance. As a dog sitter I provide care and safety for your pets, long walks and fun games, as well as maintaining discipline. I usually babysit the dogs of my friends and people I know and I’d like to do it for more owners and their fluffy kids:) I’d like your pet to be dropped off prior to 8am and to be picked up after 6pm on the weekdays. On a weekend the drop off and pick up are flexible. I take notes on the owners preferences and keep the dog’s usual routine to keep them away from stress. Over: I grew up with pets (dogs and rodents) and have taken care of pets practically my whole life. 5 years ago, I took a wonderful boy called Charlie home from the shelter (you can see him in all of my pictures). He was already a bit older, and I was lucky to have him by my side for 4.5 years until he sadly passed away last October. I have a big heart for animals, and therefore miss taking care of a hairy friend! I have experience with taking care of both small and larger dogs, as well as senior dogs and dogs with medical needs. I recently started a PhD and am therefore not home during work days (mo-fr). When taking care of a dog I adjust my routine to meet the needs of the dog. I try to suit the needs of the animal and respect their boundaries. Over: I have had pets since I was six. Started with a dog, later cats. I now regularly dog-sit for friends and neighbors, and for the past year I have been actively walking multiple dogs in the neighborhood (6+). Some also stay at our home for extended periods. A typical day with me includes two solid walks of 45 to 60 minutes each, plus several shorter outdoor breaks throughout the day. I welcome both puppies and adult dogs, and can comfortably host small to medium sized dogs in my apartment. Your dog will never be left alone for more than two hours, and since I work from home most of the day, supervision is pretty much full-time and consistent. My home is secure and fully dog-proofed, with no balcony access risks to worry about. In any emergency, I’ll contact you immediately and can get to a vet quickly. I’m currently looking for my own dog, so your pet is truly in genuinely passionate and attentive hands. I’m only at uni about five hours a week, so I’m home most of the day. 😊 My partner Sam (26) is from England and is working on his PhD. He works from home most days. This means your pet will almost always have one of us around! Sam grew up with a Labrador and cats, so caring for animals has always been part of his life. 🦮🐈 We live in a cozy (37m²) studio in Amsterdam-East, right next to Park Frankendael. Because of our studio setup, our home is best suited for small to medium-sized companion dogs. Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to accept large guardian types, mastiffs, or large bull breeds like Pit Bulls, Staffies, and Rottweilers. There is plenty of green space nearby for walks (Ring Dijk, Weesperzijde) 🌲 There is also parking available next to the apartment. If allowed, we love going on longer walks, including trips to the Amsterdam Forest or past nearby cafés. Of course, we always follow your rules and only take pets to places where they are comfortable. If you're looking for someone kind, responsible, and genuinely happy to hang out with your furry friend, I’d love to meet you! I can also send you picture updates!! 💓📸 P.S. I (Simone) also speak Dutch. 🇳🇱 I am a student at the University of Amsterdam, and my partner is completing his PhD, which means our home is almost never empty! Because we are both primarily home based, your pet will benefit from a very consistent routine with frequent potty breaks, interactive playtime, and a quiet, calm environment perfect for naps. :) Between our schedules, there is nearly always someone here to provide company and supervision. On the rare occasion that we are both out for lectures or research, it is never for more than 5 hours. We are more than happy to adjust our daily flow to match your pet's needs! Our apartment is kept tidy and pet proofed for safety. Although we live on the 4th floor, our building has an elevator, making it easily accessible for dogs of all ages and mobility levels! :) Downstairs, there is a ramp in addition to the stairs (which is much better for the short-legged paws) We are located right next to Park Frankendael, which offers wonderful, green routes for our daily walks. We follow your specific instructions regarding feeding, medication, and sleep habits to ensure your dog’s routine stays consistent.
