“Sky is voor het eerst van zijn hele leven uit logeren geweest. Ik vond het heel spannend, maar werden goed begeleid. Ik kreeg elke dag een appje met foto’s en hoe het ging. Sky heeft zich heerlijk vermaakt, ook sky was gewoon op vakantie. Hij was heel relaxed en Cristina en haar man waren heel lief voor sky, hij komt heel graag terug! Ik raad Cristina iedereen aan Sky has been staying out for the first time in his entire life. I found it very exciting, but were well supervised. I got an app every day with pictures and how it was going. Sky had a great time, Sky was also just on vacation. Over: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a very pet-loving family where we always had at least three dogs, sometimes four, alongside rabbits, fish, and other pets. Over the years I’ve lived with and cared for a wide variety of different breeds, including Bernese Mountain Dogs, Newfoundlands, a Cocker Spaniel mix, a Maltese Poodle, and a Boerboel. Having had both giant breeds and smaller dogs as pets has really taught me how different every dog is and how important it is to adapt to their individual personality, energy level, and needs. I regularly took our three Bernese Mountain Dogs on hikes in the mountains and on adventures to forests and lakes, while our smaller dogs much preferred a relaxing walk on the beach or park. I now work from home full-time, with no pets currently, and live just a short walk from Vondelpark, which means I have the flexibility to give plenty of attention, walks and playtime throughout the day. I live just a 5-minute walk from Vondelpark and usually head there at least once a day, so dogs staying with me can enjoy regular walks and lots of time outdoors. We welcome dogs into our home, and your dog can have a little playdate! I have experience with separation anxiety, and I will honor whatever care plan that you may have in place. I can administer medications and make sure your dog feels welcome and secure. I will provide as many updates you like on your pup because I know what it’s like to feel anxious about not being around them. My home is open to your fur baby! I am free most days and can walk your dog whatever their schedule is. I am very flexible with stays at my home or at yours any day of the week. In my home, I let them sniff the area first to get the lay of the land. This will give them space to get comfortable surroundings and understand that it is a safe space for them. Since my dog is also home with me, I prefer they meet in neutral territory for a meet & greet to ensure that it is a good match, however I’ve had other dogs come over without the need for one, and it has been okay. I just like to take the extra precaution to give both of us piece of mind. At the client’s home, I’ll follow yours and your dog’s routine. I’ll initially watch them closely to assess how they interact in their home. I do this for my own understanding so I can best read their needs.

Over: I'm a pet lover, always have been! Grew up with pets and have had experience living with animals since young. I've had tortoises, fish and cats! My grandparents also had dogs so I have some experience with that. My longest pet was a little cat named Kitty I had from a kitten and handled everything for, from changing the litter box to taking her to the vet and giving her medication. Unfortunately she passed away last year at the age of 17. I'm a student, so it's quite easy for me to head over after university to take your pet out on a walk or feed them. Also, currently I live alone, making it easy for me to adjust my schedule and stay out late if needed. I can pet sit, so feed them, change litter, give medication if needed :) I'm also totally happy to take your pet out on walks! Over: I grew up with pets (dogs and rodents) and have taken care of pets practically my whole life. 5 years ago, I took a wonderful boy called Charlie home from the shelter (you can see him in all of my pictures). He was already a bit older, and I was lucky to have him by my side for 4.5 years until he sadly passed away last October. I have a big heart for animals, and therefore miss taking care of a hairy friend! I have experience with taking care of both small and larger dogs, as well as senior dogs and dogs with medical needs. I live on the third floor, and there are stairs inside my apartment too. I’m happy to carry smaller dogs up and down, but this might be something to consider. In general, when I am caring for a dog, it’s much like having a child to take care of. I do have an 8 year old (who is very sweet and gentle with dogs), so your dog has to be friendly and comfortable with children. I also need to know how your dog is with other dogs and people, so I can act accordingly. I never let dogs off leash before i know them very well, because I take my responsibility very seriously. And always pick up poop!

Over: Ik heb vanaf jongs af aan altijd dieren om me heen gehad, konijnen, katten, honden, hamsters noem het maar op, ik hield toen al van de aanwezigheid en liefde van de dier. Zelf heb ik een poes van bijna 7 dat echt mijn kindje is en het het liefst zou ik ook een hond willen maar daar vind ik m’n woonruimte klein voor dus vandaar dat ik met liefde voor andere honden (en katten) zorg. Ik heb in de tijd dat ik in LA woonde voor 4 honden gezorgd, het was voor mij altijd weer een feestje om een lange wandeling te maken, zonnetje, palmbomen en honden wat wil je nog meer! :) Helaas is het in Amsterdam niet altijd mooi weer maar ook hier heb ik voor andermans honden gezorgd, oa als dierenbuddy, waar ik voor een oudere dame haar hond wekelijks uitliet. Mijn moeder heeft ook een hond die ik vaak uitlaat en naar de kapper breng en ophaal. Verder ken ik veel mensen met honden en die zijn altijd stapelgek om me (en andersom). Ook heb ik in het verleden op katten van buren en vrienden gepast en af en toe doe ik dat nog steeds voor een buurmeisje. Ik weet dat omgang met dieren gewoon mijn passie is en ik wil daarom uiteindelijk ook mijn eigen hondenuitlaat bedrijf beginnen. I focus on calm, structured walks where the dog receives both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I am confident handling dogs on a leash and can maintain good control in different situations. If a dog is allowed off-leash, I know how to apply reliable recall and how to keep the dog safe and engaged. I am also experienced in walking two dogs at the same time, so that is absolutely no problem for me. For a regular walk, you can expect me to walk with the dog for at least 40 minutes. Something else that may be reassuring for owners to know is that I am currently looking into part-time (16-hour) remote work that can be done fully independently. This means I am not tied to an office or stuck in long meetings, which allows me to dedicate a lot of time and attention to the dog and the house. I am definitely not someone who is busy working all day and only quickly takes the dog out in between tasks — caring for the dog is genuinely my main priority. I may occasionally handle some light administrative work during the day, but aside from that, I am mainly present, flexible, and attentive. Because of this, I can keep a close eye on both the dog and the home, and owners can trust that everything will be calm, safe, and well taken care of. What I am currently in between jobs and taking the time to explore what I want to do long-term. One thing that is very clear to me is that I want my future to involve dogs in some way, whether that becomes dog training, behavioral guidance, or something similar. I am still figuring out exactly how I want to shape that path, but I think it is great that I can already gain valuable hands-on experience by caring for and spending time with different dogs through dog sitting and walking. At the moment, I have a flexible schedule and am mainly available during weekdays from late morning until the end of the afternoon. Unfortunately, Rover does not offer an exact option for this, but in practice I am generally available between 10 AM and 5 PM to look after your dog at home or take your dog out for walks. Since I personally love walking as well, owners can expect me to take dogs on long, enjoyable walks with plenty of attention and care. I am also exploring the possibility of starting a part-time remote job later this summer for around 16 hours per week. The type of work I am looking at would be fully home-based, flexible, and low-pressure, without meetings or appointments that would require me to leave the house. Because of that, I would still have more than enough time, attention, and flexibility to properly care for dogs throughout the day. The dog’s wellbeing, attention, and routine would always remain my main priority while I am looking after them. Weekends can be a bit more difficult for me, although I may still be available depending on the situation, so you are always welcome to send me a message to check availability I currently live in an apartment complex and do not have a private garden, which means fulltime dog boarding at my home can be a bit more limited depending on the dog and the situation. However, if your dog only needs to stay somewhere for a few hours for example, to bridge part of the day rather than staying an entire day or overnight that is absolutely possible at my place. My apartment is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a dog for shorter periods of time. I already do this regularly with one of my parents’ dogs to help them out from time to time, so I am experienced in having dogs stay with me in a calm and comfortable environment. Of course, this is always coordinated properly, which means that if I am caring for your dog, there will not unexpectedly be another dog present unless discussed beforehand. I also genuinely enjoy being outdoors and spending active, quality time with dogs. With my own family dogs, I love doing simple things like playing with a tennis ball or a toy, practicing little tricks, going for walks, relaxing outside together, cuddling, and giving them attention. For me, it is really the small moments and connection with a dog that make it enjoyable, and spending time with dogs genuinely gives me a lot of energy and happiness. One important thing to mention is that Rover sometimes requires me to select fixed availability options that do not fully reflect how flexible I actually am. Because of that, it is possible that I may not always appear in certain search results. In reality, my availability is often much more flexible and depends a bit on the specific day and situation. “Sky is voor het eerst van zijn hele leven uit logeren geweest. Ik vond het heel spannend, maar werden goed begeleid. Ik kreeg elke dag een appje met foto’s en hoe het ging. Sky heeft zich heerlijk vermaakt, ook sky was gewoon op vakantie. Hij was heel relaxed en Cristina en haar man waren heel lief voor sky, hij komt heel graag terug! Ik raad Cristina iedereen aan Sky has been staying out for the first time in his entire life. I found it very exciting, but were well supervised. I got an app every day with pictures and how it was going. Sky had a great time, Sky was also just on vacation. He was very relaxed and Cristina and her husband were very sweet to sky, he would love to come back! I recommend Cristina to everyone”

“Lada is the best dog sitter in Amsterdam! She agreed to watch my dog less than 12 hours in advance, and then agreed to meet me at the train station instead of me dropping off the dog at her place, which shows how kind and thoughtful and helpful she is!!! The weekend that my dog spent at her place was amazing too. I got updates 5+ times per week, with pictures of my dog, my dog was walked for multiple hours a day, she was allowed everywhere in the house; and Lada was veryyyy attentive to her needs and always checked in with me on what she could do extra. She even invited me for tea after the dog stay. I genuinely couldn’t recommend her more, i’d trust her to watch my dog anytime!”

Over: In one line: dogs love me! Even the most “difficult” ones like me :) I spend a lot of time walking my dog Tronco, so I thought… why don’t I walk other dogs at the same time!? I work from home everyday and I walk my dog 4 times a day so I have plenty of time to walk yours too! Any questions please let me know My friendly dog will keep company to yours! Maybe they will even play :) otherwise I will make sure your furry friend is super chill at my home
Over: Mijn vriend is opgegroeid met een hond en heeft dus veel ervaring met hondengedrag. Zelf ben ik opgegroeid met heel veel huisdieren én liet ik vroeger altijd alle honden uit de straat uit! We zijn allebei échte dierenliefhebbers. We houden allebei enorm van wandelen in het bos, dus we zijn altijd wel in voor een goede wandeling met jouw hond! En omdat we met z'n tweeën zijn, krijgt je hond bij ons sowieso alle aandacht en knuffels die hij verdient. Hoewel we allebei fulltime werken, werken we 2 tot 3 dagen per week vanuit huis. Hierdoor hebben we superveel flexibiliteit om onze dag helemaal om jouw hond heen te plannen! Mocht het een keer nodig zijn, dan mag de hond zelfs met ons mee naar kantoor. We zijn allebei erg actief en wonen direct aan het park. Tussen het werken door kunnen we dus heel gemakkelijk even naar buiten voor een heerlijke, actieve wandeling! We wonen direct aan het park, dus we stappen zo het groen in zonder langs drukke wegen te hoeven lopen. Tijdens het wandelen houden we honden voor de veiligheid altijd netjes aan de lijn. Om je een gerust gevoel te geven, sturen we gedurende de dag gezellig foto's en updates. Ook plannen we vooraf altijd een vrijblijvende Meet & Greet. Zo kunnen we rustig bespreken wat jouw hond gewend is qua ritme en regels, en stemmen we alles perfect af!

Over: I grew up as a teenager with a golden retriever and every time I go back to Paris at my dad's, I happily take over the full routine: feeding, walking, playing, brushing hair and teeth… I walk very consistently on a daily basis, rain or shine, so a dog who wants/needs long walks has found the right sitter. This love for dogs actually goes way back: as a kid I used to walk the neighbor's dog just for the joy of it, sneaking in extra rounds whenever I could after school. So this isn't a new hobby for me, it's something I've genuinely loved my whole life. Good with big (25kg max) and small dogs! I’m working for freelance as an artist. I work mostly from home with a steady routine. I go for a long walk every morning and evening, and can also incorporate a mid day walk very easily! I live in a studio appartement with concrete floor that is very easy to clean. I have a balcony that is safe for small dogs as well, and of course enough space for setting up a dog bed in the living room !
