“We waren best gespannen om ons hondje Blizzard voor het eerst bij een onbekende achter te laten, maar vanaf het eerste contact met Shaima hadden we meteen een goed gevoel. Ze was ontzettend warm en liefdevol, en haar ervaring met honden straalde er vanaf. Dat stelde ons enorm gerust. Tijdens het verblijf hield Shaima ons dagelijks op de hoogte met lieve berichtjes, updates en leuke foto’s. Ze nam echt de tijd om ons mee te nemen in hoe het met Blizzard ging, wat we als heel prettig hebben ervaren. Ze stelde gerust vragen wanneer dat nodig was, wat haar zorgzaamheid en betrokkenheid alleen maar bevestigde. Wat we ook enorm waardeerden: Shaima merkte dat Blizzard soms wat vaker naar buiten moest omdat hij het niet altijd even goed kon ophouden. Ze heeft zich daar meteen op aangepast en is meerdere keren korte wandelmomentjes met hem gegaan. Zo lief, ze keek echt naar wat hij nodig had. En het allerbelangrijkste: Blizzard had het zó naar zijn zin, dat we bij het ophalen bijna het gevoel kregen dat hij liever nog even bij Shaima bleef. Op de foto’s en video’s zagen we ook hoe blij en ontspannen hij was, en hoe liefdevol zij met hem omging. Wij komen zéker terug bij Shaima. Het was voor ons (en voor Blizzard!) echt een ontzettend fijne en warme ervaring. We raden haar met alle vertrouwen aan!”

Over: I've been around dogs my whole life. My family's first was a Jack Russell Terrier, followed by a Bichon, and my sister has two Bichons of her own. Dogs have always been part of my day to day, so I'm completely at ease minding them and making sure they feel safe and well cared for. This year, my partner and I adopted Nori, a lil Iggy. Raising him from a pup has sharpened my hands-on ownership skills. Everything from house-training to managing his wild personality. He's energetic, and always up for making a new friend, so if your dog enjoys company, he'll make a good pal. Italian Greyhounds are renowned for being clingy so I'm well used to giving a dog my full attention throughout the day. I work from home full-time, which means your pet won't be left alone for long stretches. If they need someone around consistently I think I’d be a good fit Pet care fits naturally into my day since I work from home full-time. Mornings start with a walk, often down to Sarphatipark, followed by regular breaks throughout the day for toilet, play, and outdoor time. Evenings bring a longer walk. Your dog won't be left alone for long stretches; consistent attention is just part of how my days already run. I follow each dog's normal routine - feeding, walks, meds, wherever we are. At home, they join Nori and me around the flat. Never left alone for long. I also live with my partner Abbie who's just a trustworthy and similar lover of dogs so there will always be 4 eyes on your pet :)

Ik ben opgegroeid met katten, een hond dat uit een asiel is geadopteerd (labrador x stabij) en daarna een border collie x australian shepherd. Zelf heb ik ook kort voor een rescue gezorgd, helaas is deze niet meer bij mij. Ik zou daarom graag weer vaker op honden passen. Wandelen en hardlopen doe ik in m'n vrije tijd al best veel of graag, maar liever samen met een hond (hardlopen met de hond zou in overleg zijn / afhankelijk van of de hond daar behoefte aan heeft). Ik vind het ook heel leuk om te helpen met het trainen, te begeleiden bij hersenwerkjes/puzzels etc. Ik plan graag een kennismaking met jou en je hond(en) in om alles te bespreken. Een proef dag, middag, of overnachting is ook altijd mogelijk. Ik heb tevens (niet in die zin gekwalificeerd of professioneel, maar wel persoonlijke) ervaring met de wat ‘lastigere’ honden en deze zijn in principe en vooral in overleg ook welkom. Het aannemen van meerdere honden van verschillende baasjes gedurende dezelfde periode zal altijd in overleg zijn en ik heb zelf ook de voorkeur om de honden vooraf met elkaar kennis te laten maken. Hi, my name is Hanna! Living in the east of Amsterdam, near Amstelstation (so easy to reach by both public transport and car + there’s an elevator available in the building). I grew up with cats and dogs, and also have looked after a rescue dog for a while who sadly is not with me anymore. I'm excited to look after dogs again more often. I also really enjoy teaching dogs new things or guiding them with puzzles, brainwork etc. I’m looking forward to plan a meet and greet with you and your dog(s) to discuss whatever is necessary. A trial day or night is also always possible. I also have some experience (not in that sense qualified or professional, but personal experience) with behaviourally challenged dogs, which are also welcome but that obviously would require a discussion to see how and what the dog needs / to what extent. Accepting multiple dogs from different owners during the same period will only happen in discussion with the owners and will require a meeting between the dogs beforehand. I’m currently in the process of making this my full time job, so I’m home pretty much full time (besides for groceries and an occasional appointment obviously). So if you have a dog that needs a bit more active supervision or can’t stay alone yet or for not that long, I basically have all the time and presence your pet needs. I live in an apartment that’s decently sound-proof. There’s an elevator present in the building. I have 2 crates set up and also a fence throughout my place, so if needed I can keep the dogs separated when I have multiple dogs. At the moment the max I can keep at once would be 3, but that does take some extra consideration if they do go together if it’s the case they are dogs from different owners. Having 2 together would be more common than 3. Doors of the crates are generally open during the day, so if your dog isn’t crate trained (yet), that’s fine. Sadly I don’t have a garden, but I do have time, so I also like to just be outside with your dog as if we’re hanging out in a garden (I have multiple long leashes as well, so they can also do then do their thing in a safe manner if it’s not in a fenced area).

Over: Vanaf jongs af aan opgegroeid met honden. helaas nu ik op mezelf woon moet ik het hebben van oppas hondjes. omdat ik zelf in een appartement woon. Ik hou ervan om met de hond opstap te gaan en buiten te zijn, maar ook binnenhuis komen hondjes geen aandacht te kort. Momenteel ben ik zelf wat minder gaan werken, dus heb ik alle tijd om door te brengen met een hondje. Ik vind het fijn mocht het hondje het ook leuk vinden om naar het park te gaan. Verder is het ook geen probleem voor mij om veel tussentijdse rondjes met een hondje te lopen. Zelf woon ik in een appartement dus ik zal er iets vaker met het hondje op uit gaan omdat ik geen tuin heb. Wel zal het hondje in staat moeten zijn om twee trappen op te moeten kunnen. Of als het een wat kleiner hondje is kan ik ook tillen.

Verder is het ook geen probleem voor mij om veel tussentijdse rondjes met een hondje te lopen. Zelf woon ik in een appartement dus ik zal er iets vaker met het hondje op uit gaan omdat ik geen tuin heb. Wel zal het hondje in staat moeten zijn om twee trappen op te moeten kunnen. Of als het een wat kleiner hondje is kan ik ook tillen.

Back home, I’m a proud parent to two wonderful cats, aged 10 and 3, and a lovely 1-year-old rescue dog. 🐶 Dog Care: I grew up around dogs all my life. Over: Ik heb vanaf jongs af aan altijd dieren om me heen gehad, konijnen, katten, honden, hamsters noem het maar op, ik hield toen al van de aanwezigheid en liefde van de dier. Zelf heb ik een poes van bijna 7 dat echt mijn kindje is en het het liefst zou ik ook een hond willen maar daar vind ik m’n woonruimte klein voor dus vandaar dat ik met liefde voor andere honden (en katten) zorg. Mijn moeder heeft ook een hond die ik vaak uitlaat en naar de kapper breng en ophaal. Verder ken ik veel mensen met honden en die zijn altijd stapelgek om me (en andersom). Ook heb ik in het verleden op katten van buren en vrienden gepast en af en toe doe ik dat nog steeds voor een buurmeisje. Ik weet dat omgang met dieren gewoon mijn passie is en ik wil daarom uiteindelijk ook mijn eigen hondenuitlaat bedrijf beginnen. I grew up with dogs and have had four in total, two of which still live with my parents. Because of this, I have gained a lot of experience with different personalities, including more challenging and high-energy dogs. As a result, I know how to interact with dogs in a calm, clear, and confident way. I am also very good at reading canine communication, such as body language, posture, and behavior, which allows me to prevent escalation and step in when necessary. At the moment, I am exploring what I want to do in the future, and it is clear to me that it will involve dogs in some way, such as training or guidance. In the meantime, I have the time and flexibility to spend a lot of time with dogs, and there is honestly nothing I enjoy more. Being a dog sitter is therefore the perfect way for me to do something I genuinely love while also gaining even more experience and getting to know different dogs. To me, dogs are much more than just pets. I truly enjoy spending time with them and giving them the attention they deserve. I personally love going on walks, so taking a dog along is not only enjoyable company for me, but also a great balance where both the dog and I benefit from spending time outdoors. I find it very important that a dog feels safe, calm, and comfortable, which is why I always pay close attention to the individual character and needs of each dog. I actually enjoy working with more challenging or highly sensitive dogs as well. I stay calm, provide clear structure, and take the time to build trust so the dog knows what to expect. During walks, I pay close attention to the surroundings, safety, and the dog’s own signals. Owners can expect me to be responsible, reliable, and genuinely involved, and to treat their dog with patience, attention, and care. Clear communication is also very important to me, so owners always know how things are going. I read a dog’s emotional state by paying attention to the eyes, posture, energy level, and how the dog positions itself around other dogs. I also look for signs of confidence, stress, or dominance during interactions, such as the way a dog approaches, avoids, or lies down in social situations. This allows me to adapt my approach so that every dog feels safe and understood. During walks, I enjoy visiting natural environments such as parks or green areas where the dog can relax, explore, and comfortably do its business. I focus on calm, structured walks where the dog receives both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I am confident handling dogs on a leash and can maintain good control in different situations. If a dog is allowed off-leash, I know how to apply reliable recall and how to keep the dog safe and engaged. I am also experienced in walking two dogs at the same time, so that is absolutely no problem for me. For a regular walk, you can expect me to walk with the dog for at least 40 minutes. Something else that may be reassuring for owners to know is that I am currently looking into part-time (16-hour) remote work that can be done fully independently. This means I am not tied to an office or stuck in long meetings, which allows me to dedicate a lot of time and attention to the dog and the house. I am definitely not someone who is busy working all day and only quickly takes the dog out in between tasks — caring for the dog is genuinely my main priority. I may occasionally handle some light administrative work during the day, but aside from that, I am mainly present, flexible, and attentive. Because of this, I can keep a close eye on both the dog and the home, and owners can trust that everything will be calm, safe, and well taken care of. What I am currently in between jobs and taking the time to explore what I want to do long-term. One thing that is very clear to me is that I want my future to involve dogs in some way, whether that becomes dog training, behavioral guidance, or something similar. I am still figuring out exactly how I want to shape that path, but I think it is great that I can already gain valuable hands-on experience by caring for and spending time with different dogs through dog sitting and walking. At the moment, I have a flexible schedule and am mainly available during weekdays from late morning until the end of the afternoon. Unfortunately, Rover does not offer an exact option for this, but in practice I am generally available between 10 AM and 5 PM to look after your dog at home or take your dog out for walks. Since I personally love walking as well, owners can expect me to take dogs on long, enjoyable walks with plenty of attention and care. I am also exploring the possibility of starting a part-time remote job later this summer for around 16 hours per week. The type of work I am looking at would be fully home-based, flexible, and low-pressure, without meetings or appointments that would require me to leave the house. Because of that, I would still have more than enough time, attention, and flexibility to properly care for dogs throughout the day. The dog’s wellbeing, attention, and routine would always remain my main priority while I am looking after them. Weekends can be a bit more difficult for me, although I may still be available depending on the situation, so you are always welcome to send me a message to check availability I currently live in an apartment complex and do not have a private garden, which means fulltime dog boarding at my home can be a bit more limited depending on the dog and the situation. However, if your dog only needs to stay somewhere for a few hours for example, to bridge part of the day rather than staying an entire day or overnight that is absolutely possible at my place. My apartment is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a dog for shorter periods of time. I already do this regularly with one of my parents’ dogs to help them out from time to time, so I am experienced in having dogs stay with me in a calm and comfortable environment. Of course, this is always coordinated properly, which means that if I am caring for your dog, there will not unexpectedly be another dog present unless discussed beforehand. I also genuinely enjoy being outdoors and spending active, quality time with dogs. With my own family dogs, I love doing simple things like playing with a tennis ball or a toy, practicing little tricks, going for walks, relaxing outside together, cuddling, and giving them attention. For me, it is really the small moments and connection with a dog that make it enjoyable, and spending time with dogs genuinely gives me a lot of energy and happiness. One important thing to mention is that Rover sometimes requires me to select fixed availability options that do not fully reflect how flexible I actually am. Because of that, it is possible that I may not always appear in certain search results. In reality, my availability is often much more flexible and depends a bit on the specific day and situation. Over: I’ve had my samoyed Lumi for 6 years, who we adopted as a puppy and I’ve had all responsibilities of. I therefore have experience caring for puppies and middle-aged dogs, doing long and short walks, grooming her coat, administering oral medication, and doing basic training. Similarly, I grew up with cats my entire life as my family had cats for as long as I can remember. I’ve also done pet sitting for my friends’ cats and dogs. I’m currently doing my first research project (basically half a thesis) for my Master’s, so I’m doing data collection for a lab. I only have on average one session each day, which takes about two hours, where I need to be at the lab. Some days I have no sessions at all and a completely free schedule, so I could do multiple walks, play time and lots of pets and love with your furry friends! On the weekends my schedule is completely free, and I have many friends who also absolutely adore pets, so we would love to have your pets socialize (if they enjoy doing so!) and receive lots of love from them, take them to cafes, or just spend one on one time with them at home (whatever they prefer). I have a smaller studio (30m2) which is only a good fit for small dogs and cats. Here, I would love to take their beds that they already are comfortable with, their litter, feeding plates etc. as I have ample space to put them, but they would also be very welcome to sleep on my couch or in my bed! For bigger dogs or any other pet that prefers to stay at home, I would love to take care of them in their own space.

“Sky is voor het eerst van zijn hele leven uit logeren geweest. Ik vond het heel spannend, maar werden goed begeleid. Ik kreeg elke dag een appje met foto’s en hoe het ging. “We waren best gespannen om ons hondje Blizzard voor het eerst bij een onbekende achter te laten, maar vanaf het eerste contact met Shaima hadden we meteen een goed gevoel. Ze was ontzettend warm en liefdevol, en haar ervaring met honden straalde er vanaf. Dat stelde ons enorm gerust. Tijdens het verblijf hield Shaima ons dagelijks op de hoogte met lieve berichtjes, updates en leuke foto’s. Ze nam echt de tijd om ons mee te nemen in hoe het met Blizzard ging, wat we als heel prettig hebben ervaren. Ze stelde gerust vragen wanneer dat nodig was, wat haar zorgzaamheid en betrokkenheid alleen maar bevestigde. Wat we ook enorm waardeerden: Shaima merkte dat Blizzard soms wat vaker naar buiten moest omdat hij het niet altijd even goed kon ophouden. Ze heeft zich daar meteen op aangepast en is meerdere keren korte wandelmomentjes met hem gegaan. Zo lief, ze keek echt naar wat hij nodig had. En het allerbelangrijkste: Blizzard had het zó naar zijn zin, dat we bij het ophalen bijna het gevoel kregen dat hij liever nog even bij Shaima bleef. Op de foto’s en video’s zagen we ook hoe blij en ontspannen hij was, en hoe liefdevol zij met hem omging. Wij komen zéker terug bij Shaima. Het was voor ons (en voor Blizzard!) echt een ontzettend fijne en warme ervaring. We raden haar met alle vertrouwen aan!”

Over: [english below] Hoi, ik ben Hanna! Wonend in Amsterdam Oost, vlakbij Amstelstation (goed bereikbaar met zowel OV als ook auto + lift aanwezig in het gebouw). Ik ben opgegroeid met katten, een hond dat uit een asiel is geadopteerd (labrador x stabij) en daarna een border collie x australian shepherd. Zelf heb ik ook kort voor een rescue gezorgd, helaas is deze niet meer bij mij. Ik zou daarom graag weer vaker op honden passen. Wandelen en hardlopen doe ik in m'n vrije tijd al best veel of graag, maar liever samen met een hond (hardlopen met de hond zou in overleg zijn / afhankelijk van of de hond daar behoefte aan heeft). Ik vind het ook heel leuk om te helpen met het trainen, te begeleiden bij hersenwerkjes/puzzels etc. Ik plan graag een kennismaking met jou en je hond(en) in om alles te bespreken. Een proef dag, middag, of overnachting is ook altijd mogelijk. Ik heb tevens (niet in die zin gekwalificeerd of professioneel, maar wel persoonlijke) ervaring met de wat ‘lastigere’ honden en deze zijn in principe en vooral in overleg ook welkom. Het aannemen van meerdere honden van verschillende baasjes gedurende dezelfde periode zal altijd in overleg zijn en ik heb zelf ook de voorkeur om de honden vooraf met elkaar kennis te laten maken. Hi, my name is Hanna! Living in the east of Amsterdam, near Amstelstation (so easy to reach by both public transport and car + there’s an elevator available in the building). I grew up with cats and dogs, and also have looked after a rescue dog for a while who sadly is not with me anymore. I'm excited to look after dogs again more often. I also really enjoy teaching dogs new things or guiding them with puzzles, brainwork etc. I’m looking forward to plan a meet and greet with you and your dog(s) to discuss whatever is necessary. A trial day or night is also always possible. I also have some experience (not in that sense qualified or professional, but personal experience) with behaviourally challenged dogs, which are also welcome but that obviously would require a discussion to see how and what the dog needs / to what extent. Accepting multiple dogs from different owners during the same period will only happen in discussion with the owners and will require a meeting between the dogs beforehand. I’m currently in the process of making this my full time job, so I’m home pretty much full time (besides for groceries and an occasional appointment obviously). So if you have a dog that needs a bit more active supervision or can’t stay alone yet or for not that long, I basically have all the time and presence your pet needs. I live in an apartment that’s decently sound-proof. There’s an elevator present in the building. I have 2 crates set up and also a fence throughout my place, so if needed I can keep the dogs separated when I have multiple dogs. At the moment the max I can keep at once would be 3, but that does take some extra consideration if they do go together if it’s the case they are dogs from different owners. Having 2 together would be more common than 3. Doors of the crates are generally open during the day, so if your dog isn’t crate trained (yet), that’s fine. Sadly I don’t have a garden, but I do have time, so I also like to just be outside with your dog as if we’re hanging out in a garden (I have multiple long leashes as well, so they can also do then do their thing in a safe manner if it’s not in a fenced area).

They responded almost instantly, were extremely welcoming and finally made the stay for LouLou (and our family) super relaxed. She received all the attention she needed - and a lot more probably). Over: Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My family had three dogs over the years, and I looked after each one from puppy all the way to senior age, including all the extra care and patience that comes with an older dog. Most recently, I took care of a dog that needed daily medicine and treatment for a ripped paw pad, so I'm comfortable with health routines too, not just walks. I've also worked as a dog walker and sitter, and whether it's your dog or my own, I treat them all the same way: like family. As a freelancer, I mostly work from home, which gives me a lot of flexibility during the day. That means I can fit in walks, feedings, or check-ins at times that actually work for your schedule, not just early mornings or evenings. It also means I'm not rushing between appointments, so your dog or cat gets my full attention while I'm there. When pets stay with me, they have plenty of room to settle in. My apartment has a big, spacious living room and kitchen area, and I usually set up a cozy corner just for them so they always have a safe spot to retreat to, while still being free to roam and explore the rest of the apartment. I let them explore at their own pace and approach me when they're ready, rather than the other way around. I might try to make contact with a treat here and there, but I never force it if they're not comfortable yet. For walks, I'm lucky to live close to three parks, so there's always a good spot nearby to stretch their legs.

My dog can be quite sensitive to changes and a bit worried when I leave her with new ppl but Anushka was patient with her and gave me updates, sent pictures and told me about how she was settling in. Over: I’ve had dogs since I was young and have years of hands-on experience caring for them. I currently have a 30 kg Goldendoodle, Willow, whom I’ve spent the past two years intensively training as my service dog. Through this, I’ve gained lots of experience with obedience, consistency, positive reinforcement, routines, and understanding dog behavior. I’m also very comfortable with larger, energetic dogs and providing plenty of exercise, structure, and, of course, cuddles! 🐾 I work from home, so I have a very flexible schedule and am around throughout most of the day. Dogs in my care get plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and cuddles. I normally take Willow on three longer walks and two shorter walks each day, so your dog can easily join our routine. I’m also happy to adjust my schedule to your dog’s usual walking, feeding, and sleeping routine so they feel as comfortable and at home as possible. 🐾 Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always make sure any dog staying with us feels comfortable around her. Since I work from home, dogs are rarely left alone and get plenty of supervision and attention throughout the day. Dogs are treated like part of the family in our home, they’re welcome on the furniture (clean paws permitting!) and can sleep in my bedroom. I follow each owner’s routines and rules closely and will always take the time to help your dog feel safe, relaxed, and at home. And obviously will send pictures throughout the day of your pup; as a dog owner, that’s what I’d want as well!
